Chapter 383 - Chapter 351: Splitting Up

Su Ming and Barry chatted a bit more. Barry talked about the events at the Justice League Hall, while Su Ming briefly mentioned the matters in the cosmos.

Whether it's 'Death' or 'Dream', those are exclusive pieces of information. Unless absolutely necessary, they would not be handed over to the Justice League for free.

"Oh? Are you saying Batman is now a paraplegic?"

Su Ming smoked his cigarette, scratching the whiskers on his chin with interest. Barry felt that Deathstroke seemed to be a bit schadenfreudic, as his tone was quite cheerful.

Nonetheless, Barry disclosed Bruce's situation. Deathstroke, currently the only tactical master they could rely on, needed comprehensive information for judgment.

"Yes, Bruce's entire skeleton, except for the skull, is shattered. Even though the Final Machine pieced him together, he's just an ordinary person. The healing time is exceptionally long. I estimate it will take at least three months."

"Three months..." Su Ming casually flicked the ash from his cigarette. That's a long time. Let alone major events, if he doesn't use Lazarus' Spring, he might have to spend Christmas in a wheelchair.

"He's also planned for this—a special Bat Armor. We've placed him inside the Life Armor to stabilize his entire body, but he can only move using the wheels beneath the armor, like a standing wheelchair. He'll have to stay at the Hall of Justice."

Barry sighed, looking worried. Only two of the seven mystical powers have appeared, and Batman's current condition means he can't participate in battles or command.

When he connected with Static Force and closed the door, he saw some incomprehensible and terrifying visions, ones he couldn't even acknowledge as humanity's future.

Humanity grows powerful, chaotic, and after unifying the cosmos, they engage in unrestricted self-destructive behavior, turning society into something distorted and mad.

The word 'justice' has long been forgotten. People harbor only desires, engage in unlimited predation, surpass their opponents and themselves.

Slaughter and plunder, until the entire universe is left with only the last person, everything ends in silence...

And this, is the true meaning of 'Transcendence' for humanity.

He conveyed these observations to Deathstroke.

At that moment, smoking the remaining half of his cigarette, Su Ming outlined the different pieces of information. It seemed Lex Luthor and Joker had joined the opponent's ranks, making six people alongside Sinestro.

With Luthor's perfectionist compulsive nature, he would definitely gather seven people to challenge the Justice League. The question is, who would be the seventh person?

It's definitely not the deceased Turtle People nor the battered Riddler; they are mere pawns and tools.

Among the previous members, there's certainty that they would complain to Luthor about the bullying they endured at the hands of Otherworld's Deathstroke, which means Luthor might find an eighth person to counterbalance. So, who would that be?

With the Suicide Squad present here, he should already be aware of it. To avoid trouble, he might use political forces to have the Celestial Eye Association retrieve the Suicide Squad, and Su Ming would need new accomplices to manage some menial or rear-guard tasks.

All potential scenarios were enumerated in his mind, and Su Ming started to prepare for everything that was to come.

"Ron, then?" Su Ming asked again. If Batman was paralyzed and Ron took over command, it would be difficult for him to direct the Justice League.

"He's planning to go to the cosmos with John, saying they're searching for some ancient Martian prophecy. They're having a meeting right now; I'll take you there."

Barry, unsuspecting, led Su Ming to the conference room. With a flash of electric light, they appeared amidst the crowd.

Batman, like a mummy in a coffin, was immobilized within a heavy armor. The surface of the armor had several brackets used to stabilize his limbs, ensuring the bones wouldn't grow incorrectly.

And Su Ming just wondered about how Batman solved his personal problems? Did he just go in the armor?

At this moment, Batman, using his usual tone, assigned tasks: "We should have a few days' buffer period; our opponent would need to reset their plans, so here's the arrangement..."

He glanced at the appearing Deathstroke, his face expressionless, as if he had foreseen this.

"Clark will go to repair the Moon. We're currently relying on Earth Power Hero to sustain the tidal effects, but he can't manage for long. Since Ron wants to explore the Martian prophecy, he should take John along for contingencies."

Su Ming stroked his chin. Doesn't this leave just Diana, Sea King, Steel Bone, and Barry?

Batman himself was at this moment a disabled person, already excluded from the combat sequence. Although this armor might have weaponry, its creation was ultimately for the purpose of being a wheelchair.

Next, Batman had more arrangements.

"Sea King needs to return underwater to manage some undersea problems. Steel Bone should handle the aftermath of Brainiac's home planet being destroyed last time. Barry will temporarily maintain security in each of our cities; that's it."

During the previous 'Justice is Absent' incident, Brainiac's home planet, Kro planet, exploded, turning into cosmic dust.

Brainiac had a habit of using his advanced technology's shrinking ray to shrink other civilizations' planets and their inhabitants, placing them inside glass jars as ornaments.

When Kro planet had been destroyed, devoured by the Omega Four Gods, thousands of these miniature planets were released, returning to their original size.

It was a disaster.

In the cosmos' limited space with various gravitational forces intermingling, many of these planets collided with each other, completely destroyed, their inhabitants perishing.

Due to some mysterious energy, approaching there was highly dangerous, yet investigating the mysterious energy emerging there was a must amidst the cosmic transformation.

Batman isn't asking Steel Bone to rescue anyone; there are hundreds of billions of inhabitants there, impossible to save completely.

He's sending Steel Bone to investigate, but didn't say explicitly, because only Steel Bone's Mother Box could possibly bring people nearby.

Had he shared the harsh reality, Steel Bone might not be able to handle it.

Yet Su Ming furrowed his brows. These arrangements mean only Diana will be left guarding the Justice League Hall, right?

If he gained the command of the Justice League now, it would be symbolic, as Batman evidently anticipated this.

Su Ming had to acknowledge that these arrangements were correct. Even if he were to make them, he couldn't do any differently. However, Su Ming adamantly opposed dispersing forces; with so many second-line heroes outside, why not take a few small helpers each, avoiding solo actions?

Last time, heroes acted independently, almost being targeted by the Dark Knight Order one by one. Now Batman is dividing forces again...

Batman still maintained his air of mystique; unless heroes asked, he wouldn't say a word. Yet with Earth's current condition, they should rally everyone's strength.

With his wisdom, he wouldn't do something so foolish, meaning... is he planning to lure out Luthor and the others? With them in a state of total ignorance, he sets a trap using them.

Should he return to find Green Arrow? But that guy always seems useless during major events....

At that moment, Hawk Woman descended from the sky. In her hand was a blue light ball, one of her wings broken, her entire body covered in wounds.

Luthor used the Key of Destruction to send Batman, Superman, and Mars Hunter back to the Justice League Hall, but the ample N Metal on Hawk Woman protected her. In the critical moment, she awakened.

As Joker laughed maniacally, and Luthor was about to touch the Totality, she launched a sudden assault from above them.

Like an eagle swooping on prey, she executed a diving assault.

Joker took a punch, while Luthor's armor was smashed mercilessly by the N Metal Warhammer, forcing them to retreat, or face being killed by Hawk Woman.

"I snatched it back from Luthor; this is the Totality."

Seeing her panting heavily, Batman merely nodded, having anticipated the same outcome. Since Luthor hadn't disposed of Hawk Woman, she would certainly go all out to secure the Totality for the Justice League.

"Thanks for your effort. You can go to the hospital for a check-up, and take care of Hawk Hero. The N Metal you brought from Senagang Star is very important."
