Chapter 409 - Chapter 377: Spoils of War

Su Ming caught the flying Magic Floating Cloak and piled up all the treasures it found on the ground for careful inspection.

Diana had no objections to Deathstroke's actions. Although Kent was a friend of the Justice League, it's very likely he's no longer with us, as Naboo has taken over that body.

So taking away his magic props is also a means of weakening Naboo, which is tactically important.

Diana doesn't like looting or destruction, but only when it's unnecessary. If it's for justice, she's willing to use any means necessary.

The Magic Floating Cloak found a lot of things, even the Magic Stove used for cooking in the Mage Tower had its Magic Core dug out.

But Su Ming found only a few things he could really use. Many of these were mage supplies, which could greatly boost his power if he were a caster, like those particularly beautiful magic staffs and some magic books covered in tadpole text.

However, these items were of little use to him. He couldn't just go out and use a magic staff to hit people, could he? If he could activate the magic on the staff, he wouldn't mind cosplaying Gandalf, but he had tried, and these magic staffs seemed dead in his hands.

At least they couldn't be used for now. He would study them slowly when he had time.

There were also some Magic Small Props, but the magic props here required user mana activation, which meant they had an entry threshold that Albella could certainly use, but Su Ming was a bit lacking.

He planned to distribute a few small props to the Female Mage for use in the upcoming battles.

Finally, he found something familiar among them, the Silver Beetle Talisman.

Although it sounded like it should be part of Doctor Fate's Silver Beetle Uniform, it actually wasn't. This was a set of cursed items.

Of course, that's not entirely accurate, but if you were to draw a parallel, they were similar to the Lich Life Box in the DND System, or more like the Soul Artifacts in Harry Potter.

The Silver Beetle Talisman contained a very evil soul, usually that of a powerful sorcerer from the Ancient Egyptian Era, so powerful that their souls became immortal.

They resided in these talismans, and once someone wore one, they would gain powerful magic power while gradually having their minds influenced until, ultimately, the ancient sorcerer would take over.

They were, of course, very beautiful, crafted of silver and encrusted with gemstones, with a unique magic radiance, mysterious and tempting.

They're the kind that an uninformed transmigrator would be unable to resist and would try to bind by blood recognition as soon as they encountered them.

But if they really did that, who between the transmigrator's soul and the powerful undead within would have the final say remains unknown...

However, Su Ming had only seen one Silver Beetle Talisman in a comic before, with Has Shit inside, a powerful High Priest of Egypt's First Dynasty.

Now there were at least a dozen in front of him.

Though they could be put to use, they were not for direct use.

The souls in the talismans, from a certain perspective, had cleverly escaped death, which wasn't good; how could they reincarnate if they didn't die?

So Su Ming planned to do a good deed by sending them to Death and see what the smiling little girl would reward him with.

This matter would be set aside for now; once things were settled here, he would visit Dream Country after falling asleep.

He stored the Silver Beetle Talismans in his backpack and turned his eyes to the last magic item.

In appearance, it looked like the sort of eye makeup that Egyptian pharaohs often painted, a symbol form of an eye pattern ornament, a Divine Artifact made of gold.

It was very much like the Eye of Horus, yet in reality, it was the 'Eye of Ra'.

Ra is one of the oldest gods in Egypt and has always been the highest god, the Sun God, who once converged with Horus to become Ra-Harakhty, meaning the 'Ram on the Second Horizon', and also converged with the Amon God to become 'Amun Ra'.

His method of ruling was different from Zeus; whenever other gods tried to usurp power, he would always proactively merge with them, forming a new persona, ultimately taking over.

Even Horus did not succeed, ending up with the position of Guardian God of the Pharaohs.

But now Su Ming already knew that apart from Heaven and Hell, the gods from other divine systems were actually ancient sorcerers, so mythical stories weren't entirely the same as in past lives.

As for how to distinguish the 'Eye of Horus' from the 'Eye of Ra', it was actually quite simple, because Horus only had a right eye, being a one-eyed god.

When you saw a golden left eye, with raptor-like features, that would be the Eye of Ra.

This item was indeed powerful, but at today's technological level, it was comparable to a satellite, like Hera's Celestial Mirror, used as a scouting tool to observe Earth.

And it had its limitations. As a Divine Artifact of the Sun God, this tool could only see the daytime half of the Earth.

Those ancient Egyptian sorcerers had divided their rights so finely upon becoming gods, which resulted in having to observe many taboos when creating these divine artifacts.

Want to use the Eye of Ra to explore underground? No, that's infringement, as it belongs to Geb's domain.

Want to look underwater? That's not allowed either, as places like the Nile River and other lakes and seas have their own guardians.

So, this thing in Su Ming's hands had its greatest value as a kind of wall-penetrating vision enhancement (daytime only)...

Su Ming was quite pleased to store it away, as it might not be useful to others.

But the super vision it provided could see almost anywhere covered in sunlight, and when paired with Deathstroke's spatial calculation abilities, he could even perform unimaginably long-range sniping.

However, Divine Gold Gauss wouldn't work due to ballistic issues; he might need to get a special bow and arrow from Green Arrow.

He planned to have the Fire God reforge this Divine Artifact into his helmet.

...........

With items sorted and packed, the cloak took him and Diana to meet up with the others.

It only took a moment, and there was already a pile of cigarette butts at Albella's feet, while Detective Gorilla was cautiously holding the jar with a person inside, watching her intently.

"There seemed to be some commotion earlier." Albella raised an eyebrow, her voice hoarse from the tobacco.

"Let's discuss it outside. Things have progressed significantly; at least we know what we're up against now."

Su Ming pointed at the wall where they had entered. Now that Naboo had fled and Barry had returned, they had to rely on Albella to open the way.

It didn't matter what magical passwords were needed; the Female Mage directly used a Large Fireball to blast open a hole in the wall, avoiding the unstable spatial fissures around, returning them to the mountain top outside the town.

"Ah, fresh air." Bo Bo took a couple of deep breaths like he had asthma; he had felt really bad inside that tower.

Uncertain if it was due to the oppressive environment or Albella being next to him.

"Alright, Albella, what's your strongest magic? Blow this place up." The Female Mage looked up at the sky, mindlessly smoking as Su Ming made the request.

She scratched her chin while holding the cigarette, "Are you sure? This is one of the three major Magic Pillars of the world. Blowing it up, I'm not sure what will happen."

"Magic is stolen Witchcraft Fire, and the notion of Magic Pillars isn't credible anymore. Go ahead and blast it; if the sky falls, Heaven will support it."

"Ha, I like the way you think..."
