Chapter 1029 - Chapter 976: Slow and Steady

"How many times have I told you, don't throw things around. You lifted a car and tossed it—what if it hits a kid? Even if it doesn't hit anyone, it's still wrong to damage flowers and plants."

The demonic voice echoed, and the standard German accent did not make Du Zun feel friendly. On the contrary, seeing the black and yellow armor made him shiver all over.

Su Ming gently placed the car on the roadside, lovingly brushing off the dust on the engine hood. The Wilson Enterprises logo got dirty.

If it were a Stark Industries car, he wouldn't bother catching it. Du Zun really lacks vision.

This isn't the first time Du Zun has met Deathstroke. He knows what this person's appearance means. Last time, the entire Super Axis plus a group of Ice Giants could not stop him for even a second and Iron Cross was taken away.

The teammates generally believe that Deathstroke is not human, but a human-shaped monster. That body covered with tentacles and those endlessly changing weapons appear only in nightmares.

Why isn't Captain America coming, but instead this monster!

Du Zun's heart was collapsing.

"Stop him! Block him for me!"

To stay alive, he immediately ordered the army to block Deathstroke, while himself turned and fled into the ruins of the bleak street. Flames, thick smoke, anything to obscure the opponent's vision.

Su Ming's mind moved slightly, and Strangulation immediately extended countless tentacles from his back, each holding a gun, firing at the swarming army.

The flames from the muzzle, the sound of shell casings clattering to the ground, all woven into a symphonic frenzy.

The red blood fell on the dirty snow, leaving deep dark pits, appearing so hot.

Bullets and rocket launchers from the enemy were ineffective against him. He instantly cleared a path through the mob, launching into pursuit of the fleeing Du Zun, continuing the verbal barrage beside him.

"Look at you, just after I told you, you're throwing things again, you've lost face—are you trying to smash me with your face? If you want me dead, just say so. If you don't say, how do I know you want to kill me? But you just can't kill me—aren't you angry? You should take care of your body, anger harms the liver. By the way, do you even have a liver? What's the point in living or dying? A half-mechanical person like you, why are you so afraid of dying?"

"Get lost!" Du Zun picked up a large piece of building debris from the ground, cement block with steel bars attached, and threw it at Su Ming like a hand axe.

But Su Ming punched it mid-air, shattering it without even slowing down, still keeping close enough to let Du Zun hear the sarcastic remarks.

"Humans are born through humanity, machines are assembled. How did you become half-human, half-machine? Do you have relatives? Do you have friends? Do you often feel sleepless nights with unspeakable concerns? Always feeling weak in some areas? By the way, what's your mother's surname?"

"Ah!!!"

Du Zun now felt like being tangled up by a fly monster, buzzing and buzzing, buzzing and buzzing...

The key issue is this fly is much stronger than him, which is very sad.

He let out a desperate roar, surprisingly accelerating by another three degrees.

Su Ming stroked his chin, truly a product of German military engineering, reliable quality. Maybe these mechanical legs... worth getting?

Though mechanical legs aren't much use. Even with giant modification for mechas, history has proven two-legged robots are just for show.

There's a famous saying—'Legs are just decoration; those big shots above wouldn't understand.'

But useful or not, take it back for the Adjutant to see first. Transformers should have unique ways to process legs, as most are two-legged robots.

However, might need Transformable Metal. This requires long-term planning.

The red eyepiece flashed a bright light, trailing a long streak like ghostly flames enveloping the fleeing soldier ahead.

He let Du Zun escape, using language harassment with purpose.

The nonsensical trash talk disrupted the opponent's thought process. Originally, Du Zun, knowing his power, was in a state of panic. Now, logic confusion further magnified his survival instincts.

When beasts are startled, they're likely to crawl back into their dens? Then run freely, run back to your pals, perfect for catching them all at once.

Except for Blood Count's undying nature, no one else in the Super Axis poses a real challenge.

Mechanical legs, powered by Energy Blocks, indeed excellent, at least faster than Steve, never tiring.

In just a moment, he had run from Manhattan to Queens, but during this time, Deathstroke hovered alongside him, spewing endless garbage talk.

Poor Du Zun, unable to live or die, could only roar and run madly, not even bothering to answer Deathstroke's questions.

He wasn't sure what Deathstroke planned to do, but this cat-and-mouse game really made him more and more terrified.

Death might not be scary, but knowing you're about to die and just watching the blade hang over your head is. Deathstroke obviously wasn't going to give him a blindfold and let him have one last smoke.

The army inside the city was left to Monac after Su Ming broke through to chase them. The Magic Prince, with his Warlock's pride and self-respect, didn't like dealing with ordinary people, but when ordinary people planned to kill him, that was a different story. It shouldn't be a big problem, he thought.

So, Su Ming could focus on tracking the enemy, to see where they could lead him. It would be great if the Super Axis gathered together, and a single Strangulation could gain a lot of intelligence.

He had thought about whether Hydra had mastered teleportation technology, but it seemed not. Du Zun's mechanical leg joints were smoking, yet there was no light beam to pick him up.

However, to his disappointment, Du Zun finally stopped at the coast, a most ordinary place in New York, near the old Wilson Enterprises pier, clearly not a pick-up spot.

No one came to rescue Du Zun in the end. He could only try to escape by jumping into the sea. Thinking about it, it was indeed a bit sad—this was a one-way ticket mission.

Running atop the high breakwater, with the faint glow of streetlights in the mist, he appeared tragic. He wanted to spit some harsh words at Deathstroke before jumping into the sea but ultimately didn't dare to. He just looked at the Demon with anger and leaped into the sea.

"Alas, how stupid, Strangulation!"

Following Du Zun into the water was a mass of tentacles, like a net scooping him up directly from the sea. The symbiote's immense strength made it impossible for him to resist, timidly flailing like a fish.

"You've got mechanical legs, not propellers. How could you outrun something flying above the sea..." Su Ming shook his head with regret, sighing as if disappointed in him.

"Pah! Monster, don't expect to get any information from me!" Du Zun shouted angrily, clutching the net.

"Oh." Deathstroke nodded, his red goggles flickering: "Seems like you do know some information you find valuable, huh. Thanks for the hint."

The next second, the black net instantly became sticky, its mesh density gradually increased, fully enclosing Du Zun like a Venus flytrap, then tightened suddenly.

Su Ming took out a cigarette, turned around, and calmly looked at the dark sea, the waves rising and falling, always making one feel at ease.

A few seconds later, Strangulation handed him a pair of mechanized legs, well-cleaned, the silver metal shining brightly.

At the same time, it also read part of Du Zun's memory in his mind, providing it for the host's reference.

"Oh, not bad, Lady Nine-Heads of Hydra's northern division is quite impressive. One of the Hydra Leaders infiltrating the SSR is Faust, and Zemo is there too... I roughly understand what this trick is..."

Faust is a well-known figure, Su Ming knew him, a pioneer in mind control theory.

Handing over the mechanical legs and placing them in the host's silk pouch, Strangulation obediently retracted into Deathstroke's body, waiting for the next command.

"Cloak, lock onto Monac's magic traces. Let's go back and take a look at the street battle ground."

.............

When the two met, Monac had already taken care of everything here. He sat disheveled on a pile of cement rubble, head down, pinching rabbits, with a small pile of rabbit corpses at his feet. Every time he killed one, he'd tear at his hair, seemingly quickening his path to baldness.

Su Ming landed nearby and grabbed his hand, seriously shaking his head: "Save some, hairline is quite important."

"I'm fine, don't bother with me, let me be alone..." Monac forcefully blew his nose, turning away.

Su Ming released his hand, turning to inspect the corpses of the army not far away. The Magic Prince had unleashed some big move before, leaving the street full of dense enemies all dead. Some bodies even shrank together, looking like dried fish that lost their moisture.

He bent down, forcibly tearing off the anti-toxic mask from a corpse, revealing a face twisted in agony.

Su Ming, expressionless, switched to another, taller corpse, again removing the anti-toxic mask. This time he nodded in satisfaction and straightened up.

His assumption was correct; he found the proof he needed.

"What did you discover?" Perhaps in front of others, Monac was still trying to suppress his grief. He walked over from behind and asked Deathstroke.

Su Ming stepped aside to let him see, pointing to the shattered ice and snow on the ground, and the corpse that had died with its eyes open: "Take a look for yourself."

"Is this African descent?" Skin color was the most distinctive feature, as humans are visual creatures: "When did Hydra allow Black men into the army?"

"They haven't." Once again, Su Ming squatted down, using Godslayer to reach into the collar of the corpse, picking out two metal tags: "Congratulations, you just killed all Americans."
