Ash, who was still talking, got splashed in the face. He exerted force in his waist and sat up quickly from the beach, looking at the culprit who splashed him.
Misty made a funny face at Ash. "Bleh~~ Who told you to just lie there and not play in the water at the beach, so boring!"
"Oh, you're gonna get it! Just you wait!"
"Come and catch me~~" Misty made another funny face, then turned and wiggled her bottom as she ran off.
"Brock, give me the Water Gun!" Ash asked Brock, who was spaced out watching some older girls in swimsuits, for the Water Gun, and then sprinted after Misty.
His physique was no match for Misty's. It wasn't long before Ash caught up to her and pinned her down!
Misty was utterly stunned. What was Ash going to do? Could it be that he couldn't hold back his desire after seeing her in a sexy swimsuit? But this was public, it was a no-go!
However, in the next second, a light blue nozzle aimed at Misty's forehead. Misty dumbly stared at the nozzle in front of her without reacting before a powerful stream of water gushed onto her face, soaking her!
"Let's see how you get away now!" Ash said while frantically spraying Misty's face with the Water Gun.
From a distance, Chloe watched the scene, her expression shifting from surprised, bewildered, incredulous to stifling a giggle.
Ash really hasn't changed much from before, still as childish as ever.
She initially thought he might have become more mature after traveling for a while, but the truth was he was just the same as when he was ten years old.
"Ash!!!!!!" Misty shouted Ash's name furiously, wiping the water off her face like a Gyarados.
But Ash, having done his mischief, had already run far away, turning back to make a funny face at Misty.
This left Misty so angry she nearly exploded with rage. She grabbed a Water Gun to retaliate but couldn't catch up with Ash at all.
...
Happy times always fly by; the morning was gone in a blink, and everyone was left with rumbling stomachs.
So they randomly picked a restaurant for a meal, and afterwards went searching for Professor Oak and Delia.
The two had clearly said they'd come to the resort today, but they hadn't been seen at the seaside all along. By now, it was already afternoon, and with the scorching sun, even with umbrellas and sunscreen, the girls weren't too keen to play.
After all, getting a tan would be quite the loss.
So if they couldn't find Professor Oak and Delia, they'd find a place to rest first and wait for the sun to lower a bit before looking for them again.
This is the downside of not being able to contact someone at a fixed location. It's said that the league is already developing mobile phones, and it wouldn't be long before they become widely used, making outdoor communication much more convenient.
Another thirty minutes later… it was now two in the afternoon, and the two girls were noticeably out of energy.
"Ash, did Professor Oak really say he'd come today?"
"Yeah, he said he'd be driving over from Pallet Town this morning, so he should have arrived long ago…" Ash scratched his head, feeling a bit puzzled.
Coming to the resort and not playing at the beach? If we were to search inside the resort, it would be much harder.
"Can't you use Aura to locate them? Your Aura should cover a fifty-mile radius, right?"
"But I've never recorded my mom's or Professor Oak's Aura…" Ash said a bit awkwardly.
He acquired Aura Power when he began his travels; at that point in time, how could he have recorded Delia's and Professor Oak's Aura?
Aura Power was alright for detecting terrain, but detecting humans… unless one could remember the Aura of the other person, it would be difficult to identify someone based on Aura alone.
After all, the perspective of Aura Power is rather gloomy.
While Ash and the others were looking for people, they suddenly noticed many people jogging toward the right side of the beach. Just as they were a bit puzzled, a conversation reached Ash's ears.
"I heard there's a battle going on over by the battle arena!"
"Yeah, and it's by a very young boy. They say he's already won five matches in a row, and reaching ten consecutive wins would earn him the prize given by Acapulco Resort, which seems to be a very pretty Treasure Pearl."
"A Treasure Pearl, huh, that must be quite valuable, but isn't ten consecutive wins a bit too difficult?"
"Hey, otherwise how could the resort offer such valuable items as prizes? It's also a way to draw a crowd."
"Do you know who that boy is?"
"He seems to be quite famous, a rising young Trainer named Gary, who reportedly has earned three badges in just a month of traveling, which is quite the feat for a newcomer."
"..."
A rising Trainer? Gary?
Upon hearing the name, Ash's expression instantly lit up. He knew Gary had come this way and was about to challenge Vermilion Gym.
He had been wondering if he'd run into Gary in Vermilion City, but who knew he'd encounter him here at the resort!
And Gary was having battles, and ten consecutive wins would earn a Treasure Pearl.
Doesn't matter what the prize is, just seeing Gary in the limelight made Ash restless, and earning three badges isn't exactly 'rising to fame'!
