Eventually, Ash made a promise with the ancient Dragonite that he would return within six months and help Dragonite return to its normal size, and then have a battle with it.
The condition was that Ash could not participate directly, and there were no other strict requirements.
After the conditions were agreed upon, Ash descended from the sky on Pidgeot, landing in front of Professor Bill, who was still in shock.
Professor Bill still hadn't recovered from the earlier events, not because of Ash communicating with the giant Dragonite, but because Ash released that blue Energy Ball, shattering the giant Dragonite's Hyper Beam effortlessly!
Can a human really do that?
If that Hyper Beam had hit, even if he had a hundred lives, he wouldn't be able to withstand it, and the entire Bill's Lighthouse would have been utterly destroyed!
In such a situation, Ash didn't display the power of his Pokemon but chose to stand in front and block that terrifying Hyper Beam with apparent ease.
The giant Dragonite calmed down in the end because of Ash's power, and they negotiated peacefully.
"Professor Bill, snap out of it!" Ash waved his hand in front of the still-dazed Professor Bill, who suddenly jolted back to his senses and looked at Ash with a frightened expression.
"Are you human or Pokemon!?"
Ash: ???
How rude! Is that the first question you ask someone when you come to your senses?
"Hahahaha!!" Misty and Brock, seeing Professor Bill's reaction and his unfiltered words, started laughing uncontrollably, holding their stomachs in pain.
Meanwhile, Ash, with a face full of black lines, managed to stop Misty and Brock's mockery and calmly explained his special ability, Aura Power, to Professor Bill.
However, even after learning that Ash was a Special Ability User, Professor Bill still couldn't fathom it. What kind of Special Ability User could easily block a destructive beam capable of obliterating a mountain?
But eventually, Professor Bill spent about ten minutes accepting this reality, then learned that Ash's communication with the giant Dragonite was quite successful, and the giant Dragonite would stay at Bill's Lighthouse, waiting for his return.
However, Ash seriously warned Professor Bill not to use the machine to mimic the voice of the giant Dragonite's companion again.
"...The giant Dragonite yearns for companionship. If you call it out with that machine again, and it loses control, no one will protect you this time!"
Faced with Ash's warning, Bill nodded repeatedly, assuring he wouldn't make that mistake again. However, in return, he wanted to collect a scale or hair from the giant Dragonite for research.
Ash thought for a moment and asked the giant Dragonite. The giant Dragonite agreed without hesitation.
It was just a scale; compared to what Ash would do in the future, it was a trivial condition.
And so, a giant scale the size of an adult unexpectedly fell from the giant Dragonite, landing heavily before Professor Bill and the others with a tremendous thud!
Professor Bill looked at the giant scale and winced. How on earth was he going to take it back?
"I'll help you take it back, Professor." Seeing Professor Bill's plight, Ash grabbed the scale with both hands, gently exerted force, and lifted the seemingly tens or even hundreds of pounds scale from the hard ground.
With Professor Bill's shocked expression, Ash slung the scale over his shoulder with one hand and waved to the others with the other: "Let's go, back to the lab now."
It was already getting late. After a brief exchange with the giant Dragonite, the entire sky had turned dark.
They were to spend the night there, but fortunately, Ash had already asked Professor Bill in advance, and there were enough beds available.
...
The next morning, Ash and the others bid farewell to Professor Bill.
"Feel free to come by anytime, I'll be more than happy to host you!" Professor Bill shouted with a smile as he waved.
After returning last night, they talked for a long time. Professor Bill learned many imaginative ideas from Ash that were quite helpful for his research.
Ash's visit not only revealed the truth behind the giant Pokemon but also saved his life, secured a scale from the giant Dragonite, and provided inspiration for his research that night...
To Professor Bill, Ash was nothing short of a blessing!
Although Ash may come across as somewhat of an anomaly, you soon realize he has the mindset and thoughts of a normal teenager, if a bit more mature. He shows no arrogance despite his abilities.
Pride, arrogance, maybe a little. But compared to those Trainers who get a bit of success and become conceited, Ash's pride and arrogance are no more than a grain of rice.
For a Trainer with such terrifying strength yet such steady character, Professor Bill almost never encountered one.
So, he gave Ash this evaluation—champion within three years!
