After the ancient Dragonite roared, it smashed down its fist directly. The massive fist could even pulverize Bill's Lighthouse and the cliffs. Just as a look of terror appeared on Bill's face, he saw a figure dart out from beside him, charging toward the fist.
In mid-air, Ash held his breath and threw a punch, that tiny fist colliding with Dragonite's meteor-like fist!
"Boom!!"
An unparalleled shockwave echoed in the air, waves of it rippling outwards. What happened left Bill dumbfounded: what seemed like an egg striking a meteor, actually ended up with the egg sending the meteor flying!
Dragonite's fist was blasted away, and even its entire body staggered back several steps in mid-air.
Only then did everyone realize that although Dragonite appeared to be walking on the sea, it was actually levitating in mid-air. Its two feet were submerged in the seawater, but the sea's depth was surely much greater than that.
So Dragonite wasn't walking from the sea; it was floating across it.
But this isn't the important message. The important thing is... Ash actually repelled such a large Dragonite with one punch!
Misty and Brock could understand; although this scene was shocking, having witnessed Ash knock out a Magmar with one punch before, this wasn't much of a surprise.
But for Professor Bill, this was the first time witnessing such an event!
What kind of monster could perform such a feat? Let alone repelling the fist of a massive Dragonite, just engaging in a hand-to-hand fight with a normal Dragonite, or even a Rattata, would be beyond human capacity!
Professor Bill felt his worldview shatter; it turned out Ash's true strength wasn't his Pokemon, but himself!
In the air, the recoil didn't cause Ash to bounce back because he funneled all the power outward, only the gigantic Dragonite felt the recoil, but he didn't.
However, he couldn't fly, so in mid-air, he released Pidgeot and stood on its back, glaring seriously at the gigantic Dragonite that barely steadied itself.
"You're an ancient Dragonite, aren't you? I can tell you're searching for a companion. I also know we imitated your companion's voice, which wasn't right, but we mean no harm!" Ash's shout echoed over the entire sea area, naturally reaching the ears of the gigantic Dragonite.
Modern Pokemon would surely understand Ash's words, but Dragonite is an ancient species! It can hardly make sense of modern human speech, so Ash's shouts sounded like incomprehensible noise to it.
It seemed only to hear Ash yelling, as if trying to intimidate her.
This made the ancient Dragonite even more enraged. With a roar directed at Ash, she opened her massive mouth, where destructive golden energy began to form—Hyper Beam!
"Hey, hey... I'm just saying hello, do you have to go that far?" Ash twitched at the corner of his mouth upon seeing the Hyper Beam. This Dragonite's ability value far exceeds its kind, and it's of an ancient physique too.
It's unknown what the link between an ancient body and Dynamax is, but such a massive size is not just for show. The creature's moves must be much stronger than a normal Dragonite of the same level.
This Hyper Beam's power is already no less than Champion Level.
"Boom!!" In the next instant, the Hyper Beam erupted from Dragonite's mouth, the destructive golden beam piercing through space, illuminating the almost darkened sky like daylight!
Ash raised a hand, and a vivid blue Aura Sphere formed in an instant. However, compared to Dragonite's Hyper Beam, his Aura Sphere seemed like an ant to an elephant.
Yet Ash, undeterred, hurled the Aura Sphere from his hand without dodging!
"Boom!!"
"Crack, crack, crack!!"
Professor Bill dared not watch the scene above. Regret filled his heart, realizing that for the sake of curiosity, a talented young man might perish, and even he, Misty, and Brock would likely be taken down by the gigantic Dragonite after Ash.
However, after a few seconds with his eyes closed, the scorching bright light still flashed in the sky. Raising his head with his eyes squinting open a sliver, he widened them after taking in the scene above.
What did he see? The small Energy Ball Ash released actually blocked the Hyper Beam, nearly the size of Bill's Lighthouse!
Is this even possible!
The Aura Sphere was small but persistently kept the wide-ranging Hyper Beam at bay, almost as if an invisible force held back the excess part of the Hyper Beam.
In the sky, Ash held a hand forward, remotely sustaining the Aura Sphere, completely preventing the Hyper Beam from advancing.
The ancient Dragonite was bewildered. This was its most powerful move. Despite being rusty in combat and not releasing abilities for ages, it didn't change the fact that this move could reshape land and sea.
With one Hyper Beam, even a small mountain would be leveled!
And yet, the ordinary blue light ball blocked it, can this be real?
More importantly, the initiator of the blue ball was a human!
