Chapter 165 - Situation of Azure mountains

Pov: Vik

After my bath, I took Pushpa and some clothes. When I got to the living room, I saw everyone. Sherry was serving food to everyone. I joined them and talked with everyone. Layla and Lu Ran kept thanking me for saving Lu Xiaoran and Roman. They mentioned things were now stable, so they planned to return to the Lu family to reclaim it.

I told Lu Xiaoran and Roman to go with them since they had scores to settle with Lu Xiaoran's cousin. After that, only Louriel, Winston, Sherry, and Lina remained.

Lina said she was going to research the Heaven suppressing field. Maybe she was trying to recreate it using technology. Sherry was doing household chores. I had known for a while that she had feelings for Roman, and seeing her dedication, I thought about including her as a temporary disciple.

Now, let's get to the important topic. I went out with Louriel and Winston. They wanted to show me the Azure mountains. Louriel told me I would be surprised, so I followed them.

We left the mansion, with only Lina and Sherry staying behind. At the gate, Louriel opened a portal. We stepped through, and soon the portal opened outside the Azure mountain ranges.

Although she could have teleported us to the main ranges, she chose not to. I didn't understand why, but after landing on the outer ranges, we started walking. Winston led the way, and when we reached a mountain, I spotted a luxurious off-road vehicle parked nearby. Unlike regular vehicles, this was an old model that ran on petrol, not spiritual energy.

Winston opened the door for Louriel like a professional butler. I joined her in the back seat, and then Winston started driving. While sitting there with Louriel, I said, "From the preparations you made with this vehicle and the decision not to teleport us straight to the main range, I can guess that the Heaven suppressing Zone is active in these mountains."

She smiled and replied, "Yes, Vik. Even though the dragon Gullnor destroyed it with his awakening, it has been restored, maybe because of that arrow you made."

I corrected her, "That wasn't a flashy arrow; it was the last remains of someone who could be called a true hero, not like those false Chosen ones."

She raised an eyebrow and said, "You know, Vik, you and I are also Chosen ones, so you shouldn't speak badly about them. At least people like us are nice."

I twitched my mouth at her comment and replied, "No, I'm right. I wouldn't have the courage to sacrifice myself without expecting recognition from the world."

Then I told her the story of Chakor, and she was impressed. However, she was surprised when I called the skeleton Vajra. Even Winston stopped the car. Louriel stared wide-eyed at me without blinking and asked, "Vik, can you tell me again what that skeleton was?"

Feeling hesitant, I said, "I don't know much about it, but that skeleton is Vajra."

Instead of maintaining her serious expression, she burst out laughing and said, "Vik, you must have seen something wrong. There are many experimental energies lost in the universe. Some of them are a product of experiments by immortal kings. One of those techniques or energies must have come into the hands of Chakor, which is why his bones became so strong."

Confused by her explanation, I asked, "Louriel, why are you saying all this? How is it related to immortals?"

She smiled and replied, "Vik, Vajra is a concept, a legend. It's like immortality. Let's say you become immortal. It says you won't die, but your enemies can still kill you. That happens on a massive scale in the immortal plane. Just like that, Vajra is a concept of indestructibility. But can something that cannot be destroyed really exist? No, it can't."

Louriel added, "As for your other question, I know a lot about the immortal world because I come from there."

When I heard this, I asked why she had come to this world, which seemed so far from the immortal world. She only said it was a personal reason, so I didn't pry further. Instead, I tried to gather more information about her world and its cultivation system.

She explained that this was the mortal plane, a desolate realm captured by the immortal world and trapped using a large formation. This mortal plane could be called the mortal universe, and the immortal world is much stronger. She told me that if someone crosses the realm of Transcendence in the immortal cultivation system, they reach the Earth immortal realm—a stage where, rejected by the laws of this plane, they have no choice but to ascend to the immortal world.

But in the immortal world, Earth immortal is just the beginning. She told me about the cultivation system from Earth immortal to Immortal Emperor. She also mentioned that someone like Gullnor was just a juvenile dragon at the Human immortal realm.

This scared me about Gullnor what if he called his parents to take revenge against me, but before I could ask more, we reached the main peak of the Azure mountain.

Upon getting out, she told me to look below the peak with my spiritual sense. Surprisingly, I saw the massive corpse of Gullnor. Then I realized that the arrow I used must have tracked him down and killed him while leaving his body beneath the Azure mountains, as promised by Chakor.

Still having doubts, I asked Louriel if Gullnor could revive. She explained that he couldn't because his soul had already entered the cycle of reincarnation. Otherwise, she would have tried to revive him as an undead, but even she couldn't do that.

Then she took out a ball, which I immediately recognized as a Heavenly bead. She said it was in her possession, and since we talked about killing Lin Chen and dividing his luck, she mentioned that she had taken her part; now it was my turn.

I was impressed by her honesty, but I still didn't know how to extract or absorb luck. She took out a ball of golden light, saying it was the remaining luck and legacy of Gullnor meant for me. I asked her how to absorb it, and she told me that my position as a Chosen one would naturally attract it. This remaining luck was trying to dissolve in nature, but now that it was in my hands, it could find a new host. I just needed to establish a connection with it.

So, under her guidance, I began absorbing the luck, trying to gain a new type of power.
