'Oi, Oi, Oi, is this for real?'
'You've got to be kidding me right now.'
'Isn't this skill a bit too overpowered?'
'No, scratch that. It's definitely overpowered.'
'Were dragons always this strong in movies?'
'No, I don't think so.'
'But, I guess a real dragon like me, or should I say a hybrid dragon like me, seems to be a lot stronger than the way most dragons are depicted in movies and novels back home.'
'Oh my goodness. This is so exciting.'
'I can't wait to test out my new ability.'
'Oh yeah, I still have one more trait I'm yet to check out.' Aster paused in realization.
'I wonder what it's about though.' He pondered as he stared at the new screen that popped up in front of him.
[Congratulations to the host, you've acquired a new dragon bloodline trait: {Dragon Scent}.]
[Dragon Scent => Now, the host no longer smells like a weak human living in the supernatural realm. Instead, your scent has been completely masked with the intimidating scent of a dragon, making it easier for demons and other supernatural beings to easily recognize you as one of them.]
[However, since your power level is still at rock bottom, only weaker demons and monsters will be intimidated by your presence.]
[Also, this trait allows you to possess a soothing presence towards your family and loved ones. In other words, if any of them were to give you a hug or a cuddle, they would find themselves reluctant to let you go.]
'Oh. How interesting.'
'What an interesting trait indeed.'
'I'm guessing this trait must have been the reason why I felt so sleepy right after my mother pulled me close to her.'
'Yeah, it has to be, because I suddenly felt relaxed next to her soothing presence.'
'Well, it looks like an excellent trait as well because now I won't have to be worried about demons or monsters like pterodactyls coming after me like one of them did yesterday.'
'I'm guessing it will also prevent Sara from staring at me like I'm one of her sweet, delicious prey too.'
'That banshee still gives me the creeps to be honest.'
'Yes, she's beautiful, I admit that much, but whenever she comes close to me, I feel like I'm a prey who can only freeze with fear in front of his predator.'
*Sighs*
'Hopefully, this skill will put an end to that, starting from now.'
'Oh well, I'm still feeling a bit sleepy right now, so I'll check out my new skills in the morning.' Aster made up his mind, then swiftly waved away the system screen before burying his face deeper into his mother's warmth.
Now, he was certain about what he had assumed earlier.
His mother's warmth was definitely the most soothing and comforting feeling he had experienced ever since he arrived in the supernatural world, and he simply couldn't get enough of it.
'Hmm, I could get used to this.'
'In fact, I could get addicted to it.'
'Oh well, you certainly won't see me complaining about that.'
And so, within seconds, Aster swiftly fell asleep once again.
A few hours later, the sun slowly rose from the horizon, bringing a new day, but Aster was still sleeping comfortably with his mother.
He mumbled softly as he buried his head deeper into the crook of Vivian's arm, but then his hand slowly rose up to touch something soft and perky.
'Oh-ho, isn't this what I think it is?' Aster thought to himself, but then he slowly felt a hand stroking his head gently and so he lifted his head to see the dragon queen smiling down at him.
"Good morning."
"Good morning, dear," Vivian replied indulgently before noticing something very important. "Ara? It seems my little one has awakened his dragon eyes. Congratulations my cute little prince."
"Huh? How did you…?" Aster wondered how the Dragon Queen had easily noticed this, so he turned to his right to check out his reflection in a large mirror which was standing next to the bed.
But when he did, Aster's eyes widened in surprise at the black slit in his crimson eyes.
'Whoa.' His previous human eyes had completely changed into those of a reptile, and Aster couldn't help but be amazed by the sight of this.
'Oh my goodness, this is so amazing.'
Vivian smiled as she noticed the excited look on his face.
When he swiftly stood up from the bed to take a better look at his eyes, Vivian called out, "Astaroth?".
"Yes?"
"Can you see the floating colors in the room?"
Aster glanced around in initial confusion and then realized that he could indeed see the different colorful orbs of light floating in the room.
They were like tiny specks of dust in the air, but each speck glowed in a different color, making the room look extremely beautiful and captivating. "Yes, I can, but what are they?" Aster asked.
"Mana particles. Each color represents different elements, but we'll talk about them later. Instead, I want you to try looking through the bedroom door and tell me if you can see the corridor from here."
Aster tried looking and noticed that he could really view past the bedroom door and walls to see the corridor, as though he had actually stepped out of the room.
"Yes, I can see it."
Hearing this, a huge smile appeared on Vivian's face. She was surprised to discover that Aster could already see through walls, after all, it had taken her weeks to be able to do so herself.
But, since Aster could already do it, didn't that mean that her son was destined to be a genius??
Realizing this, Vivian's smile broadened even more, and her heart was instantly filled with pride.
"That's good, dear. It will take some time, but if you continue to train yourself by constantly using your new eyes, you'll soon be able to see the entire island and even the city underneath us, just like your mother."
"Whoa," Aster smiled as he recalled one of the perks that came with having his new dragon eyes, and that was the ability to view things at very far distances.
Aster swiftly tried to see if he could view the whole floating island they were on, but his eyes immediately began to sting, and his head began throbbing with pain when he tried to use them.
"Argh." He groaned in agony and clicked his tongue while placing his palm on his forehead. Vivian simply smiled when she realized what he had tried to do.
"There's no need to rush things my little one. It will take some time for you to get used to your dragon eyes but you've definitely made huge progress today. Now come, let Mama help you take the pain away." Vivian beckoned for him to come closer, then she planted a kiss on his forehead.
