Burino would enter states of intense calm when he was on the verge of emotions slipping through. Nothing would slow him down and that was true. He could always just become calm when he was panicking and would find a solution to his problem. But there was a problem with this, even if he kept his cool and stopped sweating, if he put on a blood pressure cuff on one could see that he was actually messed up inside.
"I can hear your heartbeat."
"What?"
"It's a locomotive there."
Looks like this isn't going to save me. I guess I'll have no choice but to simply lie my way out of this. It'll blend in with my already racing heart. I hope so.
"I accept these terms, but I must ask that there be a detective who matches the skillset of every member."
The creature pondered for thirteen seconds. Thirteen seconds of agonizing silence. Thirteen seconds came to an end and Burino had his terms. He had his terms and he had to make them work if he wanted to make it out of this. Detectives could be a tricky thing, but he figured that they would be in the same spot as him, put up in some shabby place with nowhere else to go.
"There you are, we've been looking all over for you. Say, what were you doing in the bossman's office?"
"Nothing, really. He just wanted to see how things are coming along."
Burino was already under a lot of pressure, but he thought that if he was to secretly make a plan and reveal it as if he came up with it in no time, he would be in everyone's good graces. Plus, if they were just a mirrored group, they would be wielding their weaknesses.
