Chapter 117 - Chapter 116: London, Travel, and the Reality Gemstone

The next day.

Hawk felt the changes in the outside world, withdrew his mind from his own Little Cosmos, and slowly opened his eyes to see Gwen lying on top of him.

"Morning."

"Morning."

Gwen saw Hawk finally get up, gave him a kiss on the forehead, then got up and headed outside: "Hurry down, I brought you breakfast."

Hawk responded with a sound.

Today is the day their couple group goes to London for vacation.

Everyone is very excited.

Although the flight is at noon, after a unanimous vote, they decided to go to the airport in the morning to avoid possible traffic delays.

Well.

Everyone here refers to Gwen and Mary.

Hawk and Peter...

Not talking about Hawk and Peter.

When Hawk finished showering and changed into clean clothes, he went downstairs from the third floor, and the first thing he saw was the breakfast Gwen had brought on the counter.

Gwen was standing in front of the living room fireplace, curiously observing the fireplace in front of her.

"Hawk, did you fiddle with the fireplace yesterday?"

"What?"

Having just opened the coffee cup Gwen packed from home, took a sip, Hawk turned his head to look at Gwen by the fireplace: "What's wrong with the fireplace?"

Gwen turned around and walked towards the dining room: "I feel the fireplace looks different from yesterday."

Hawk glanced past Gwen's shoulder at the fireplace.

"Does it look different?"

"Maybe I saw it wrong."

Gwen shrugged it off and didn't pay much attention, urging Hawk: "Hurry up and eat, Mary just messaged she's already at the airport with Peter."

Upon hearing this, Hawk said nothing, quickly finished the coffee in his cup, and devoured the two pancakes brought by Gwen. He then clapped his hands and led the way to the garage.

Gwen was left speechless and gaped, then quickly regained her senses and caught up with Hawk heading to the garage.

"Did you take your luggage?"

"Put it in the car."

"Alright."

Gwen got into the passenger seat, took out her phone, sent Mary a message, and then watched the garage door slowly open: "Dog dog dog!"

Hawk faintly smiled, stepped on the gas, and drove out of the garage.

Noon.

The international flight from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport to London Heathrow Airport did not delay and promptly started its departure procedures. After a segment of taxiing, it smoothly ascended.

Due to being an international flight and many people traveling to London this time, the four did not manage to buy adjacent seats.

Peter and Mary opted for seats on the upper deck.

Hawk and Gwen had two window seats on the lower deck.

After the plane took off and shifted to cruising mode, Gwen pulled down her eye mask and told Hawk she wanted to take a nap.

After all, flying from New York to London takes about seven hours.

Such a long time, if not sleeping, it would be hard to pass time just by staring blankly.

Hawk, sitting beside, turned his head to look outside the window at the increasingly elevated view, recalling his past outings.

First encounter with robbers after getting off the plane.

Second encounter with a military coup restricting the plane's flight.

Sss.

There's been pre-flight accidents, post-flight accidents.

This time?

Will there be an accident while flying in the sky?

Hawk couldn't help but ponder.

After all, lightning doesn't strike thrice; if an accident happens again, it just proves one thing.

He's unfit to leave New York City.

Fortunately...

Throughout the seven and a half hours, no accidents occurred, not even during descent or taxiing; it was textbook perfection, and the plane finally landed securely at London Heathrow Airport.

Hawk couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Alright.

Looks like he was scaring himself.

In the next moment.

He saw the cabin door open, and a series of London Airport police officers, looking serious, entered and then ascended to the second deck.

Half an hour later, a plot by five Middle Eastern individuals attempting to hijack the flight to pressure London into freeing their compatriots was detected by Mr. Peter Parker and Miss Mary Jane, who bravely subdued them without alarming other passengers.

Immediately.

As people saw the five hijackers being escorted from the restroom, and heard the flight attendant explain the situation, thunderous applause erupted.

Peter smiled shyly.

Mary smiled proudly.

The freshly awakened Gwen looked shocked.

Hawk remained silent.

Alright.

The heart that's been hanging finally sank dead; he truly isn't fit to leave New York City.

No, wait...

Or maybe he can leave; next time, take Peter along, as long as Peter doesn't intervene, it doesn't count as an accident?

Hawk thought of an amusing workaround.

Due to the incident, Hawk and Gwen joined Peter and Mary for a brief visit to the airport's police precinct for statements, and by the time they left, it was already one o'clock at night in London.

The airport police specially arranged a car, took them, and dropped them off at the pre-booked hotel near the Tower of London.

This hotel is close to both the Tower of London and London Bridge.

So after Gwen and Mary discussed, they settled on this hotel as their resting place.

Since the night in London isn't fundamentally different from the night in New York City.

So...

After Hawk and Gwen got their room keys and returned to the room, in the foreign land, they did a little exercise, and despite having napped earlier, due to a lack of stamina, Gwen quickly fell asleep again.

Hawk looked at Gwen sleeping beside him and smiled slightly, tucked her in, then grabbed his phone and opened the email Anna had sent earlier at the precinct but hadn't read yet.

A view.

A boarding pass information abruptly appeared in front of his eyes.

Eric Shavik!

He just flew to London too.

The same doctor from Thor 1, who studied astronomy, and who was in The Avengers tasked with researching the Cosmic Cube, was inadvertently confused by Loki using the Mind Gemstone to open a space wormhole, ultimately leading to the arrival of the Chitauri army.

Hawk looked at the boarding pass sent by Anna and his mouth slightly curled up.

It seems his London trip is coming at the perfect time.

Dr. Eric Shavik has arrived.

Dr. Jane Foster should be arriving soon too.

His Reality Gemstone...

Clearly.

Is also arriving soon.

Hawk thought about it, feeling great, then turned off his phone, looking at Gwen who was peacefully asleep beside him, he turned off the light and embraced Gwen into his arms and fell asleep.

The next day.

In the hotel's buffet restaurant.

A radiant Mary, chattering excitedly, animatedly shared with an equally radiant Gwen the thrilling tale of five Middle Eastern hijackers on yesterday's flight.

Like how Peter discovered them, and how Peter discreetly found the air marshal, and how the three of them quietly subdued all five Middle Eastern hijackers one by one.

Mary was not only good at dancing, her storytelling skills were quite impressive too.

At least Gwen was completely immersed in Mary's vivid and immersive tale.

Hawk, sitting next to them, was listening too.

He's already decided, unless absolutely necessary, he will never leave New York City again, and even if he does, he'll drag Peter along to shield him from unexpected events.

Let secrecy be secrecy.

Self-deception is better than antithesis.

Hawk thought as such.

Soon.

After breakfast, the four were ready to officially embark on their London adventure.

Gwen had thoughtfully planned the itinerary.

For five consecutive days, the four almost toured the entire city of London.

London Eye and Big Ben.

Buckingham Palace and Westminster Cathedral.

Every day they were either sightseeing or on the way to a sight, Gwen and Mary enjoyed themselves immensely, never feeling tired.

Hawk, the Marvel World's only Saint Warrior.

Peter, the Marvel World's only Spider-Man.

Their physiques were also extraordinary, but even so, Peter felt tired after three days, while Hawk was still okay.

Gwen and Mary, upon receiving subtle hints from the two gentlemen, discussed it and designated today as a rest day.

Oxosota Restaurant.

Also known as the OXO Restaurant, located on the Thames Riverfront, renowned for its exquisite dining experience and unique scenic views, offering a panoramic view of Saint Paul's Cathedral.

Hawk and the four sat by the window, dining and chatting simultaneously.

Gwen and Mary were gazing at Saint Paul's Cathedral outside the window, capturing this beautiful moment with their phones.

Hawk and Peter spoke intermittently.

However...

After a woman resembling Natalie Portman walked in at the restaurant entrance, his peripheral vision fell on the woman.

Because this woman was named Jane Foster.

Asgard, son of Odin, Thor's girlfriend on Earth.

Finally here.

Hawk's eyes lit up.

Gwen, who was talking with Mary beside him, seemed to notice something, glanced sideways at where Hawk's gaze had just swept over, and saw Jane Foster who had just seated opposite a gentleman.

Hawk instinctively looked towards Gwen.

Just in time as Gwen redirected her gaze towards him.

Their eyes met.

Gwen smiled faintly and said nothing, returning her gaze, and continued chatting casually with Mary.

After a while.

Jane Foster's friend and assistant Daisy Louise also walked in from outside, after talking with Jane for a while, she turned and left.

Soon.

Jane who was trying to forget Thor, searching for a new life, apologized to her date today, and prepared to leave.

Seeing this, Hawk looked towards Gwen beside him.

In the end...

Before he could speak.

Gwen had already opened her mouth.

"Go ahead."

"Uh..."

"Do you need me to wait for you?"

"Probably not."

"Okay."

Gwen smiled slightly, saying to Hawk, "Then we'll wait for you at the hotel."

Hawk opened his mouth, looked at Gwen, changed his previous thought, and said with a smile, "Let's go together."

Gwen raised her arches quizzically.

Hawk stood up, extended his right hand towards Gwen.

Gwen showed a bright smile on her face, putting her hand in Hawk's.

Mary on the opposite side was stunned.

She watched as Gwen suddenly prepared to leave, and reacted.

"Gwen, where are you going?"

"I ran out of menstrual cups, I'm going with Hawk to buy some, you guys head back to the hotel first."

"Menstrual..."
