Chapter 259 - Chapter 237: Klaus Meets Hawk

"I'm just defending and counterattacking."

"I know."

Gwen smiled slightly, took a few steps back, and admired Hawk, who was now wearing the suit specially tailored for him at the town's tailor shop for Christmas by her grandpa, then said, "Can you find Klaus? Caroline's worries aren't unfounded. What if we leave, and Klaus comes right after?"

Hawk shook his head with a laugh, then looked at Gwen and offered a solution: "If Elena is worried, you can invite her to New York City. After all, Catherine Pierce has already gone to New York City."

Caroline was taken aback upon hearing this and interjected, "Wait a minute, Catherine Pierce? What's she doing in New York City?"

Hawk didn't respond; it was Gwen who spoke.

Gwen turned to look at Caroline: "Because Lady Catherine Pierce helped your cousin-in-law with something, so as a return, he made Klaus stop hunting her."

Caroline blinked her eyes.

"What thing."

"It's none of your business."

Gwen said with a smile, "Besides, Hawk has business in New York City, so if your friend Elena is worried, you can pass on Hawk's suggestion to her. I'd be happy to have her stay at my place when she comes to New York City."

Caroline thought for a moment, then nodded.

"I'll ask Elena."

"Sure."

Gwen chuckled and then looked at Caroline, who seemed eager to sneak away, and said, "After we finish taking pictures."

Today was their last day in Waterfall Town, and on Christmas, grandpa suggested that on this day, the two of them, along with Aunt Liz and cousin Caroline, should take some photos together on the manor's lawn, and hang them on the wall of the main building of Fox Manor once developed.

Hawk and Gwen readily agreed.

Aunt Liz and Caroline also consented at the time.

The photographer was a local from the town with excellent shooting skills. Some tourists who visited Waterfall Town for the second time specifically looked for this photographer to take commemorative photos at the tourist spots developed in the town.

Today, the photographer actually had appointments.

But the Foxes were a founding family of the town, so the photographer promised the booked clients free photos afterward and adjusted his schedule to come over.

Moreover, the group photos didn't take much time at all.

Once Aunt Liz arrived at the manor driving her police car, everyone got into the groove. In about an hour, there were commemorative photos taken in front of the manor, on the lawns to the left and right, and in the backyard garden.

After taking the photos, Caroline hurried off to find Elena.

Aunt Liz also rushed back to work.

Hawk returned to his room immediately, loosened his tie, and opened his collar, saying to Gwen, "I still don't quite like suits."

Following him into the room, Gwen smiled slightly.

"You look handsome, very cool in a suit."

"...Give me time to get used to it."

Listening to Gwen, Hawk suddenly felt that suits weren't entirely unacceptable.

After all, Gwen's taste had always been excellent.

"So, tomorrow's flight is at eight in the morning. Where should we spend the afternoon, stay at the manor?"

"Packing."

"Packing?"

Hawk raised an eyebrow, looking at the already packed luggage on the table in the room, along with the gifts from grandpa, Aunt Liz, and Caroline, and the presents for George and Helen: "Isn't everything already packed?"

Gwen smiled mysteriously, lowering her voice: "I'm talking about the flowers in the greenhouse, I've got my eye on three pots, and I've already arranged for Federation Express delivery. I specifically asked them to come while grandpa is napping, so by the time we get home tomorrow, those three pots of flowers will have arrived too."

Upon hearing this, Hawk was speechless for a moment, thought for a while, looked at Gwen, and nodded.

"Smart!"

"Thank you."

"Remember to remind me, when we have kids, we must have a boy."

"Why, don't you like daughters?"

"Of course I like..."

Before Hawk could finish, Gwen's phone rang. After answering it, she looked at Hawk, her eyes lit up, and after hanging up, she turned and headed out the door: "Federation Express is here, Hawk, use your superpower to make sure grandpa doesn't hear any commotion in the greenhouse."

In the room, Hawk couldn't help but twitch his lips.

Half an hour later.

The van with the Federation Express logo roared out from Fox Manor.

Standing at the manor's entrance, watching the delivery van drive away, Gwen sighed in relief and then saw a very familiar car driving over from not far away.

Caroline's silver Corolla.

But seated inside weren't just Caroline alone; there were also Elena and Stefan.

After Caroline went over and told them the solution, Elena was initially somewhat hesitant.

She didn't really want to go to New York City, because who knew if Klaus would actually come looking for her.

But when Caroline mentioned that Catherine Pierce had also gone to New York City, Stefan, standing by, expressed that he would accompany Elena to New York City.

In Stefan's words.

Although he may not fully understand Klaus (the memory seal had not been undone at this time), he knew his ex-girlfriend Catherine Pierce very well.

Because what's ingrained in Catherine Pierce's bones is survival.

She knows where she can survive.

So...

They decided to go to New York City as well, and came by this time to personally tell Hawk about their decision.

Gwen watched Elena and Stefan get out of the car, then listened to their decision, and said with a smile, "Of course you two can go together."
