Chapter 621 - Chapter 143: Moon Threat_2

The agents immediately began surveying the area to open a path, confirming safety after opening the cabin door. One agent took on the task of assisting the Lark, while another stood guard in front of Miles.

"Communication has been disrupted! The network signals aren't working either!" The Mantis Blade agent's voice carried a hint of unease: "Damn it, we're using a dedicated satellite!"

"That wandering AI originates from the Moon!" Lark once again made a shocking statement, and this time, everyone realized the situation might be off, but with a glance at each other, none pursued further questioning at that moment.

Miles just pragmatically asked, "What else do you know? What should we do now?"

Lark lowered her head, looking somewhat guilty: "I don't know..."

Their conversation did not affect their movement; they quickly began a concealed evacuation into the surrounding building clusters from the crash site, with the burning Air Force One spewing thick black smoke, amidst wreckage of robots and drones that spread across the ground, resembling the end of the world.

They hadn't gone far when a white figure suddenly moved swiftly through the air to approach their location.

One agent immediately drew his pistol: "Prepare for battle!"

"Wait a minute! That's the Netherworld Dog!" Lark quickly shouted to stop the agent's action.

When the white mech landed, indeed, a woman's voice emerged from inside.

"Damn, what the hell... Miles? Mercer! We're in big trouble now!"

Just one sentence caused the agents to exchange a knowing glance and instinctively shield Miles behind them.

But Miles only calmly gestured for the agents to step aside, voluntarily walking to the front of the armored figure: "Are you the Netherworld Dog?"

"I'm V, the tactical squad leader of Netherworld Dog... Damn, this is a major disaster now!"

V inhaled sharply, sincerely feeling true calamity looming over them.

Miles calmly looked at her, asking directly: "What exactly is the situation now? What's your purpose?"

"What situation? I don't know the specifics, just know everything is a mess!

So you must personally ask Mercer—he found a large number of uncontrolled devices converging on the crash site, so he sent me to intercept... Anyway, follow me, I'll take you to Gem Cyan!"

After V finished speaking, the two agents revealed wary expressions, but Miles merely looked thoughtfully at V, eventually agreeing: "Alright, then let's go to Gem Cyan first."

The Mantis Blade agent hesitated to speak, yet V only scanned her surroundings, commanding seriously: "Let's move now, our reinforcements will arrive soon."

As soon as she finished speaking, an armored vehicle recklessly sped over from the side of the road, automatically opening its doors upon arrival.

Seeing the empty interior, Miles had the leisure to let out a sigh: "An autonomous vehicle? The development of Dog Town is truly impressive."

"It's alright..." V's mind was in chaos, only feeling that everything was finished—The President of New America crash-landed in Dog Town?

Miles, seeming without a care, boarded the vehicle, yet his other hand gently grasped Lark as if supporting her: "Today is truly exhilarating; I've forgotten how long it's been since my heart beat so fast."

Looking at the President, supposed to be pampered, yet now displaying composure and calmness, V felt a strange admiration, knowing full well the situation in Dog Town was visibly dire.

She immediately ascended into the air, using the Mercer-provided intelligent electromagnetic submachine gun to aim at the swarming drones in the distance, pulling the trigger: "Damn it, you need to leave quickly, Mercer says at least half of the unmanned devices are out of control..."

"Half of how many?" Miles calmly asked.

"Over a thousand robots, more than five thousand drones." V then quickly added, finally causing Miles' complexion to subtly change: "Are you certain?"

"Ha, I'm only talking about the numbers in normal operation; if you count the reserves..."

Just as V finished speaking, a large group of robots appeared on the distant street, indiscriminately pulling triggers and launching an attack on V and Miles' vehicle, while V merely vanished from her original spot.

In the next instant, Miles saw a scene akin to a white comet crashing down—a blast like autumn wind sweeping away leaves as V struck from above into the robot crowd.

Two exaggerated Mantis Blades extended from her armored elbows, like cutting machines, began sweeping through the battlefield.

Meanwhile, the armored vehicle carrying them automatically maneuvered, deftly weaving through obstacles, rapidly advancing along the path forged by V.

Soon, several hovercars carrying Netherworld Dog soldiers arrived tardily at the scene, while numerous drones collided with each other in the air in the distance, igniting brilliant, firework-like explosions.

Miles merely furrowed his brows as he watched the scene outside the window, seemingly sighing after a while: "It seems the intelligence we've gathered severely underestimated Dog Town's current armed strength."

Lark merely clutched her forehead in pain: "Compared to this... I need a doctor, President Miles."

"Hmm, coincidentally, I think I need one too." Miles looked at his arm—one of which hung weakly, lacking strength to move.

During the plane's emergency landing, due to an unstable descent, the nose was directly crumpled and ignited into flames.

The two pilots immediately died on the spot, while sitting near the nose position, Miles miraculously survived, but his arm was still somewhat weakened from the impact.
