Chapter 109 - Chapter 108: Wendy

Erza is a very action-oriented person; when she decides to do something good, she jumps right in, and her technique is even more skilled than Rhode's.

Rhode woke up Mira before she could suffer the disaster.

Mira opened her eyes and saw the entire guild covered in doodles: "Erza?"

Erza's movements froze for a moment, and she hid the pen behind her back: "Mira? Uh..."

Mira teased, "Why didn't you call me earlier for something so fun?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

The doodle army grew by one more.

Rhode sat at the counter, watching the two busy and excited figures, feeling that today he wouldn't have to fight because of this.

If they have the guts, they should fight those two.

Somehow he felt a bit lost.

When everyone woke up and opened their eyes, the first thing they did was laugh heartily.

But as they laughed, they felt something was wrong, and after realizing their situation, they didn't bother to think about the culprit and instead beat up the ones laughing at them first.

If I really wanted to provoke these idiots into a fight, it would be so easy.

Rhode thought to himself and suddenly said, "Mira, come a little closer."

Mira approached him: "What's up?"

Whoosh! A wooden beer mug flew with a whooshing sound over the spot where Mira had been standing, crashing into the cabinet behind.

"Oh my~" Mira gently covered her mouth and laughed, "Thank you."

"You're welcome, but do you have some sort of trait that attracts flying objects?" Rhode felt that in every brawl, something always seemed to be aimed at Mira.

When she first joined the guild, he remembered seeing Mira getting hit on the head by a bottle but couldn't react quickly enough back then.

Mira waved her hand: "How could there be such a trait?"

Rhode grabbed Mira's arm and moved her sideways by a few meters.

Elfman flew by and got stuck to the wall.

Rhode looked at Mira: "Really, none?"

"Pro... probably not." Mira thought for a moment, "Let's go out; I feel like we need to buy some new dishes."

"Shouldn't we worry about Elfman?"

"Man up!" Elfman pried himself off the wall and rejoined the fray.

"Alright, we don't need to worry about him."

Rhode and Mira slipped out of the guild along the wall, leaving the sound of the ruckus behind.

...

"The festival atmosphere doesn't seem to have faded at all."

"It will probably take about a week to return to normal."

Having completed their shopping, Rhode and Mira chatted as they returned to the guild, followed by a crab acting as a porter.

Rhode suggested, "Should we go in through the back door?"

Mira smiled, "After all this time, it's probably about..."

Rhode suddenly extended his arm to block Mira: "Who's there!"

Mira might not have noticed, but the crab's perspective could see a figure hiding at the alley's mouth, hesitating to come out.

The figure didn't respond, and Mira quietly stood behind Rhode.

"If you don't come out, I'm going to set a fire; anyone who blocks the road deserves to be burnt." Rhode pretended to start writing Text Magic, but he was actually ready to unleash a Shadow Wolf.

"No! I'm not a bad person! Please don't attack me... Ah!"

A little blue-haired girl ran out of the alley but suddenly tripped over a small stone, stretching her arms forward to catch her fall.

Rhode's left hand, which was holding a pendant, stiffened. What is this situation?

"Ouch." The little girl skillfully climbed back up and gently dusted her clothes.

"I told you not to rush like that." A small white cat walked out from behind her.

Despite being small, it stood in front of the little girl, complaining, "And Fairies' mages, your words are too harsh, aren't they?"

The little girl squatted down and whispered, "Carla, we shouldn't have been hiding."

Carla huffed, "Don't take all the blame on yourself so easily; it's because of this that you get bullied."

The little girl lowered her head: "I'm sorry."

"I mean you!" Carla stomped her foot in frustration.

"Hello, I'm a mage of Fairy Tail, my name is Mirajane, and this is Rhode." Mira slightly leaned forward, her smile full of warmth, "May I ask who you are?"

Rhode stood next to Mira, ready if the other party made a move.

He could sense the magic power within the little girl, and she had an unfamiliar blue mark on her right arm, indicating she was probably a mage too.

As for the talking white cat, cats can talk, that's normal; it wouldn't be surprising if they could fly, either.

"Carla, it's Miss Mirajane herself, how beautiful!" The little girl whispered to Carla first before standing up.

She put her hands behind her back, her toes tapping the ground shyly, "My name is Wendy, and this is Carla; we are mages from the Cat Transformation Inn guild."

Rhode thought, this kid is pretty cute, and since she complimented Mira on her looks, she must be a good person.

Just kidding.

Mostly because mages from a Dark Guild usually wouldn't dare to loiter behind a Legitimate Guild, especially not introducing themselves like this.

Rhode had one question: "I've seen the Local Guild Alliance's list, and I don't recall seeing the Cat Transformation Inn on it... Is it part of a different region?"

"I'm not too sure about that. Our guild is in Hiluwein, south of the Southern Mountain Range, um... It's not very famous outside."

"South of the Southern Mountain Range? Isn't that far away?" Mira was surprised, "Did you come all this way by yourselves? That's impressive."

From the Cat Transformation Inn to Fairy Tail, it's almost like traveling from the southernmost part of this country to the northeast.

They would need to take a carriage to the port, then a ship across a large part of Fiore Kingdom's coast to Harujion, and from Harujion take a train to Magnolia.

For such a young child to have that courage, she has already surpassed Rhode.

Wendy blushed a little from the compliment.

Carla, though, said, "It's just taking a trip far away by carriage and ship; even kids can do this. Don't underestimate the mages from the Cat Transformation Inn."

"No, I absolutely don't mean to underestimate you." Mira found Carla adorable, always trying her best to protect Wendy and their guild, though she wasn't strong.

As for whether crossing more than half the country was impressive, Mira looked at Rhode with a smile.

Rhode looked up at the sky; if not for some mid-course accident, he might still not dare to leave Magnolia even now.

Wendy's already stronger than him.

Is this world really so safe?

"Ahem..." Rhode cleared his throat, "So, you're here to watch the Magical Parade, right? Did you see the performance last night?"

"Yes!" Wendy nodded vigorously, clasping her hands in front of her chest, her eyes sparkling, "The parade was amazing; I've never seen such a fantastic performance!"

Speaking of which, Wendy grew shyer, lowering her head and twisting her toe on the ground lightly, "And... there's more... actually..."

Carla sighed and explained, "That's part of the reason. The most important thing is to come and find you, along with someone called the Fire Dragon."

Wendy cautiously said, "Carla, that way of speaking is too rude."

"To find me? And the 'Fire Dragon'?"
