# Chapter 43: The Hot-Tempered Duelist Who Loves Boosting ATK
"I activate Gagaga Samurai's effect! Once per turn, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card to target one 'Gagaga' monster I control. This turn, that monster can make a second attack during the Battle Phase."
"Next, I activate Gagaga Cleric's effect! If this card, which was used as an Overlay Material, is detached and sent to the Graveyard to activate an Xyz Monster's effect, I can target one Xyz Monster I control, and that monster gains 500 ATK until the end of the turn."
The golden orb circling Gagaga Samurai transformed into a swift wind, wreathing around his twin blades. Behind him, the apparition of Gagaga Cleric appeared, scattering golden light with a wave of its staff.

"Battle! Digital Bug Corebage, attack Lunalight Yellow Marten!"
The massive beetle spread its wings, its giant horn flashing with electricity as it charged toward the beast-eared dancer.
"When this card attacks a Defense Position monster, it inflicts piercing battle damage!"
The Yellow Marten dancer was disintegrated by Corebage's lightning, and stray bolts of electricity exploded at Serena's feet.
Serena LP: 4000 → 3400
Forced back half a step by the explosion, Serena's expression remained unchanged. She waved her hand and activated her Set card. "At this moment, I activate my Trap Card, Lunalight Reincarnation Dance!"
"When a monster on my field is destroyed by battle or a card effect, I can add two 'Lunalight' monsters from my Deck to my hand!"
"I'm adding Lunalight Kaleido Chick and Lunalight Black Sheep to my hand!"
Serena calmly took the two cards automatically retrieved by her Duel Disk, but Gagaga Samurai's attack came right after.
"Gagaga Samurai, attack her directly!" Gagaga Samurai drew his wind-wreathed twin blades and charged toward Serena.
"At this moment, I activate the Trap Card, Necro Fusion! I banish Fusion Material Monsters for a Fusion Monster from my Graveyard, face-down, to Fusion Summon that one Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck. A monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot attack this turn."
"I banish Lunalight Emerald Bird and Lunalight Yellow Marten from my Graveyard, face-down."
"O Emerald Bird, singing beneath the moon! O Yellow Marten, dancing in the dark of night! Swirl together in a vortex of lunar gravity and be reborn as a new power! Fusion Summon! Appear, beautiful beast dancing in the moonlight! Level 7, Lunalight Cat Dancer!"

"At this moment, I activate the Continuous Trap, Lunalight Serenade Dance!"

The 4000 ATK monster once again stood guard before Serena, forcing back the 2400 ATK Gagaga Samurai.
"I'll end my turn," Yūga Hōzumi said. "At this moment, Gagaga Cleric's effect wears off, and Gagaga Samurai's ATK returns to normal."

"My turn! Draw!" Serena drew a card confidently. "I'll finish you this turn."
"I discard Lunalight Black Sheep from my hand to activate its effect, adding one 'Polymerization' from my Deck to my hand!"
"Next, I activate the Spell Card, Polymerization!"
"I fuse Lunalight Cat Dancer on my field with Lunalight Kaleido Chick in my hand!"
"O beautiful beast dancing under the moonlight! O newborn chick with colorful wings! Swirl together in a vortex of lunar gravity and be reborn as a new power! Fusion Summon! Appear, graceful beast dancing upon the moonlit fields! Lunalight Panther Dancer!"
Serena clasped her hands before her chest, chanting the incantation as soft moonlight fell upon the Fusion Vortex in front of her.
A moment later, the beast-eared dancer with a leopard's tail slowly emerged from the vortex, her claws flashing with a cold glint.

"At this moment, the effect of my Continuous Trap, Lunalight Serenade Dance, activates! I'll summon another Token to your field, and then Lunalight Panther Dancer's ATK increases by 500 for each monster on your field!"
Lunalight Panther Dancer ATK: 2800 → 4800
"Furthermore, when Lunalight Kaleido Chick is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, I can target one 'Polymerization' in my Graveyard and add it back to my hand!"
"I activate Lunalight Panther Dancer's effect! Once per turn, during my Main Phase 1, my opponent's monsters cannot be destroyed by battle this turn, but this card can attack each of them twice."
"Battle! Lunalight Panther Dancer, attack the Lunalight Token!"
"At this moment, Gagaga Samurai's effect activates! When another monster I control is targeted for an attack, this card changes to face-up Defense Position, and the attack is redirected to this card!"
Gagaga Samurai moved in front of the Token, switching to a defensive stance.

The beast-warrior dancer struck at Gagaga Samurai with her claws once more, and this time, Gagaga Samurai was torn to shreds.
"When Lunalight Panther Dancer destroys an opponent's monster by battle, its ATK increases by 200!"
Lunalight Panther Dancer ATK: 4800 → 5000
"It's not over! Lunalight Panther Dancer, attack the Lunalight Token!"
"At this moment, I activate my Trap Card, Attack Invulnerability!"
"I can activate this during the Battle Phase. For the rest of this Battle Phase, any battle damage I take becomes 0!" Yūga Hōzumi revealed the Set card in his backrow.
Lunalight Panther Dancer's claw struck down. A cold glint of light shot past the monster on Yūga Hōzumi's field, heading straight for him, but it was completely blocked by a golden shield of light that materialized in front of him.
"Damn it, a trap that negates battle damage?" Serena gritted her teeth. "Then, Lunalight Panther Dancer attacks again!"
At Serena's command, the monsters on Yūga Hōzumi's field fell one by one to Lunalight Panther Dancer's claws. Although he took no damage, Lunalight Panther Dancer's ATK rose to 5600.
"She really is a hot-tempered one, always trying to jack up the ATK," Yūga Hōzumi couldn't help but say after the last Digital Bug Corebage on his field was destroyed. "But if it's a battle of ATK, I'm not afraid."
"You're just bluffing," Serena sneered. "You only have one Set card left, and I've already destroyed your ace monster. Don't tell me you actually have a way to turn this around?"
"Who said that was my ace?" Yūga Hōzumi chuckled. "My true ace is still waiting quietly in my Extra Deck for my call."
