Chapter 12 - Bursting with Emotions

With a shattering cry, Coal mourns the death of his queen. Using that as fuel, he charges the Smith again, but this time his arms rotate and the two in the front had a hold of the Drake. The one in the rear uses the momentum of the switch to punch him into the ground, and it looks like Coal was done. His body was a crumbled mess. Unmoving despite the inner rage fueling the man.

Will was battling his own war after seeing Hana walk into the distance to buy them time from the fairies. But witnessing that scene, almost in response the array on his chest felt like it was lit aflame. As if the final part of the spell to transfer the rune was the death of the previous owner. But Will could tell immediately something was off. The thing on his hand was reacting to the rune. His arming felt like it was trying to tear itself off while he felt something was trying to burst out of his chest. Screaming, he couldn't pay attention to the figure of Hana nor the fight between the Drake and the Golem.

"What is happening to me! Damn it this hurts so bad!" The pain radiated from his hand and moved up his arm, tracing the lines that were on his chest where the purple energy from the seed he had forgotten pooled at the top of his shoulder. If Will or anyone else could see his body, they would see energy crawled beneath his skin. Forcing his muscles to make way for the energy to get to his chest. Traveling dangerously close to his sleeping core and heart. Then the array flared to life, pulling any of the corrupted energy into it and preventing any nasty effects on Will's body and soul.

This whole process took only a minute or two. To Will, each second felt like hours, as his whole body convulsed, every fiber of his being battled the energy from even taking root into his body, much less traveling around freely as it was. As a result, the body was prepared to destroy itself rather than allow it to act without limit, causing Will the worst pain he could ever imagine.

When it was all over, he was covered in sweat, each drop sizzling and evaporating as it hit the ground. He was out of it but the muffled sounds of loud crashing and roars brought him back into the moment.

At some point Coal had risen, he was glowing now, a crown of red around his temple as the air around him shimmered with heat. He wasn't the best match for the Tyrant if he had heat and fire based abilities but his strength seemed to increase to a new tier with this new level of rage.

Will watched as the Abomination man-handled the drake holding it just far enough for its snapping maw to not be effective and throwing another punch at Coal. This time he saw what could only be a miracle. The man caught the harrowing calamity that was the descending fist of the Golem. Blood pouring from his mouth, he pulled the Golem down, forcing the behemoth to a knee.

"Will! GET UP! REMEMBER HANA! FIGHT!" Coal coughed out more blood as he half yelled, half growled like a beast struggling to fight with the beast.

The Drake took this as its change and slammed its thick tail into the other leg, forcing the Golem down and to let go of it. It instantly jumps on the Tyrant's back, blowing a stream of molten flames on the fallen creature's head in anger.

Will shakes his head, trying to snap himself out of the pain in his right arm and chest. His legs felt like jelly from the pain but he had to recover quickly. Somehow the two of them were holding the beast back but who knew for how long. Will didn't know how he was supposed to do anything against that abomination but he still needed to try. The other option was death so.

Will watched as the Golem wrenched its hand from Coal, sending him tumbling again before using all three of its arms to flip the Drake over its head. Slamming Demon on the ground with a pained whimper, the Tyrant raised its hand to deliver another devastating blow to its head.

Coal goes to slam his body with all his might again, but the Tyrant changes the direction of its swing, meeting him mid air with that titanic strength. With a sickening crack, the man bounces off the ground once. Then twice. Then stopped. His crown was no longer lit and he didn't look to be breathing.

The Smith turned its two hands to the pinned Drake. The scaled beast struggled to free itself but to no avail. Raising the two clasped hands together prepared to deliver a death blow to it, a pained voice rings out.

"Wait! I have the rune!" The words came out of Will's mouth before he could even think of a plan. The fight had deteriorated so quickly. He was completely stumped on what he could do. So he decided to take a page from Sunny and use trickery.

"Oh. Her Highness gave it up finally." The Smith doesn't lower its hands. Probably as a warning to the Drake who was beneath it, eyes locked on the Tyrant full of hate and gasping for oxygen.

With the Awakened Tyrants full focus on him now, Will could feel his body grow cold under the gaze of the vile creature.

"Yeah… You can see it here!" He pointed at his chest. He couldn't quite make out the shape but he could see some kind of tattoo on his chest now. "It can only be used by a human, but I can perfectly control it." pointing at the Drake.

"I see. Then you might be useful." Lowering its two hands but the third never left the tired Demon. "Prove it" Commanded the craters Tyrant.

Will racked his brain. How the flaming hells was he supposed to do that? He had no idea how to use the thing and he didn't have time to read his abilities or whatever this became. He just looked at the Drake , who locked eyes with him. It looked still filled with fury but not directed at him. He had thought of something.

"Hey! Calm down! I've got your food here, you'll get extra if you behave." He scolds the demon ranked nightmare creature.

For a moment, it looked like they were all dead. Until the Drake actually relaxed. It's body tensing and loosening. Will sighed internally in relief, he had been holding his breath at some point. If the dumb animal didn't listen, they would've all died.

"Like a dog. Shameful. Fine." The Smith let go of the scaly creature never looking away from Will. More likely, never looking away from the crest on his chest. As soon as the Golem started approaching him, the Drake looked as if it was about to jump and attack again. But it noticed a movement of something that made it stop.

"Command it to light the forge. I have run out of hellfire" The Abomination no longer spared any of the three a glance, having thought them thoroughly beaten.

The sound of heavy footsteps. Followed by a wake of heat rivaling the Furnace when Will first arrived in this Nightmare.

An over 8 foot tall, mass of muscle collided with the Golem in a fierce explosion.

"DIEEEEE!!!"
