Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Clearing the Minor Bosses

Although Spider-Ham was habitually lackadaisical, his combat power was arguably the highest among the young Spider-People. His arrival quickly tipped the scales of victory toward the Spider-Team.

Tombstone was defeated on the spot, falling into the abyss below, his fate unknown. One of Madam Octopus's mechanical tentacles was flattened by a single hammer smash from Spider-Ham, literally flattening the 3D tentacle into a 2D sheet, stunning everyone. This shock was enough to frighten Madam Octopus into a hasty strategic retreat.

When Peter (Earth-616) arrived, Middle-Aged Peter, Spider-Ham, and The Prowler were already preparing to leave their side of the battle and find the others.

"Where are they?" Spider-Ham pulled a leftover hot dog from somewhere and began eating it, claiming to be replenishing his energy.

Peter pointed down: "There's no time left; they've already gone back. You two need to go back too." Middle-Aged Peter's reaction mirrored Spider-Man Noir's, but even more intense, as his bond with Miles was stronger.

Left with no choice, Peter (Earth-616) had to once again use the explanation he used to convince Noir and Peni and gave a brief demonstration of his Temporal Power. Only then did Middle-Aged Peter and Spider-Ham finally relax.

"Alright, well, if that's the case, we're leaving the rest to you, Peter," Spider-Ham stated. He pulled a large wooden mallet from his pocket as if performing a magic trick. It was genuinely large—about the size of a human head. Spider-Ham handed the collapsible hammer to Peter: "Even though I'm leaving, I think this might give you some help... I was going to give it to Miles, but you can use it just the same. When you're not using it, you can just put it in your pocket. It's very handy."

Peter took the mallet. It was light, weighing only about a pound, the weight of ordinary wood. It didn't seem to have any high-tech components. But following Spider-Ham's example, he placed the hammer into his pocket, and it immediately shrunk to the size of his palm. If someone didn't know better, they'd think his pocket was Doraemon's four-dimensional pouch!

"This is amazing!" Peter thanked Spider-Ham.

Middle-Aged Peter hugged Peter: "I'm leaving Miles to you. You're reliable, brother." "When you get back, why don't you look up Mary Jane again, Peter?" Peter returned the hug. "Uh..." Middle-Aged Peter paused, then he and Spider-Ham jumped down together, plummeting into the particle stream below, returning to their respective universes.

"Alright, now, the stage belongs to us," Peter turned to The Prowler and extended a hand: "I hope I can be of some help to you."

The Prowler looked at him deeply: "Thank you." "Miles and I are good friends, Uncle Aaron," Peter smiled.

His Spider-Sense began to thrum. "It's Miles!" He immediately shot off. The Prowler instantly followed.

The two quickly approached the insertion point located at the collision chamber's dome.

... BANG BANG BANG—CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE—

The chaotic particle streams were leaking out more and more, causing spatial rifts and distortions in the nearby area. The ground nearby was being transformed into a dazzling, strange seven-color spectrum by the volatile particle flow—a scene of multi-dimensional quantum collapse and rebirth.

"We have to find Miles and shut down the collider immediately!" Peter shouted. "Otherwise, Brooklyn will be torn into pieces and sent to different parallel universes!" The Prowler nodded solemnly. At this point, seeing the distorted space nearby, even the most unobservant person would realize things were spiraling out of control. The events unfolding around the Particle Collider were the imminent future of Brooklyn!

Unbeknownst to them, the streets of Brooklyn above were already undergoing massive changes. First, there were the earthquakes. Shockwaves continued to hammer the ground, causing many buildings to shake violently. Simultaneously, quantum particles surging in from other universes began to spill out. On the street, "lamppost flowers"—several lampposts from different universes fused together—appeared. Roadside phone booths were crushed by overlapping phone booths from other dimensions, and a large section of road pavement was mysteriously sucked away by another universe's pull... The entire borough of Brooklyn was in chaos! Everyone was terrified! But they had no idea what was actually happening. The streets were filled with the continuous wail of police sirens. Yet even the police were utterly baffled, unable to find the root cause.

SMASH! The sound of flesh on flesh echoed.

Peter and The Prowler quickly arrived at the scene and saw Miles and The Scorpion locked in a continuous fight. Miles, after being relentlessly hunted by The Scorpion, had finally found the courage to fight back! Thanks to the crash course training from Middle-Aged Peter and the others, Miles was holding his own in the fight, looking surprisingly competent. The only problem was that he still couldn't reliably deploy his Venom Blast ability. Otherwise, there were several moments where he could have finished off The Scorpion! The Venom Blast is known to be devastatingly effective against bio-engineered opponents like The Scorpion!

"Hey! Scorpion!" Peter roared from a distance. "Have you ever seen a fist the size of a sandbag?" The Scorpion instinctively looked over.

WHACK! Peter landed an aerial kick on The Scorpion's head and grinned: "My fist isn't the size of a sandbag, but my foot is close enough."

The Scorpion raged: "How can there be such an unprincipled Spider-Man? Cheating and sneak attacks!"

Miles was delighted to see Peter and The Prowler. The three surrounded The Scorpion. Peter said: "Go shut down the collider. It's about to cause a catastrophe! Leave him to us."

"No, you haven't gone back yet!" Miles firmly refused.

Peter replied: "They've all gone back. As for me, I have another way to return; I don't need this machine. Trust me!" Peter quickly reached out and grabbed The Scorpion's mechanical stinger tail. The massive force transferred from the stinger couldn't even shake Peter's body.

"Alright... then," Miles hesitated for a moment but decided to trust Peter. He had seen too many incredible things happen around Peter.

Miles broke away from the fight and swiftly climbed toward the insertion point above.

Meanwhile, back with the two men. Peter gripped the stinger tail tightly and delivered a vicious uppercut kick to The Scorpion's jaw. The jaw is one of the most vulnerable points of the human body—a lesson taught by Spider-Man Noir. A solid blow there can temporarily knock out a person. Although The Scorpion was modified, he hadn't reached the level of the Green Goblin and still adhered to basic human anatomy.

The Scorpion crumpled instantly.

Having neutralized the last minor boss, Peter did not relax. Because after them, there was still one major boss left! Kingpin!
