Three Razor Bat Grenades flew toward Peter in a triangular formation.
WUM— Peter's body twisted into an impossible angle mid-air, allowing the three grenades to whiz past him. He heard the high-pitched whine of the razor-sharp blades cutting the air near his ears. But he knew the attack wasn't over. Razor Bats track targets!
Peter didn't wait for them to return. He adjusted his stance and shot a web at Green Goblin II.
SLAP! The web hit the Goblin's armor, instantly blooming into a small net that stuck firmly. "Get down here!"
Peter yanked hard, pulling Green Goblin II down. Green Goblin II resisted, trying to use his own strength against Peter. However, while the Goblin serum provided a quick power boost, its overall effectiveness was inferior to the inherent spider-gene. Crucially, Green Goblin II was still mid-air! His resistance only transferred the pulling force to his glider-board, whose maximum load capacity was less than 200 kilograms. It was no match for several tons of force! The glider-board stalled and plummeted with Green Goblin II.
The three Razor Bat Grenades, guided by their internal tracking systems, flew back toward Peter. Peter seized the opportunity, yanking Green Goblin II and his glider-board toward him. He delivered an aerial kick, sending the glider-board flying directly toward the returning Razor Bats.
DING-DING-DANG! A shower of sparks erupted as the glider-board and the three Razor Bats collided and destroyed each other.
Green Goblin II tried to stand, but Peter immediately stomped his foot back to the ground. Peter raised his fist and looked down: "Are you sober yet? Want me to use my special technique to help you?"
"Go to hell!" Green Goblin II's voice was hysterical. His right arm, armed with the blades, lashed out at Peter's leg.
"So aggressive! Young people shouldn't be so volatile," Peter raised an eyebrow, kicking the arm back. He then shot two webs: "THWIP! THWIP!" securely binding the Goblin's arms to the ground. "I'll let him come talk to you himself." Peter muttered to himself.
He sat down, watching the fierce battle between Tobey-Spidey and Doctor Octopus. Under Doctor Octopus's deliberate guidance, the fight had moved outside the ruined church. Doctor Octopus was a difficult opponent for Tobey-Spidey. Although Tobey-Spidey had been Spider-Man for two and a half years, he mainly dealt with petty thieves and muggers, lacking experience against high-level, tough opponents.
But Tobey-Spidey was smart and a fast learner. He rapidly adapted, drawing upon the fighting techniques Peter had shown him and the experience gained from fighting Doctor Octopus. In no time, he gained the upper hand, overwhelming Doctor Octopus. He found the opportunity to firmly web all four of the mechanical tentacles together. Stripped of his mechanical arms, Doctor Octopus was instantly neutralized, like a tiger with its teeth pulled.
Tobey-Spidey gave a thumbs-up to Peter and then walked toward him, dragging Doctor Octopus.
"Let me go! You killed my father, and I will kill you to avenge him! Kill him!" Green Goblin II, his arms webbed, still shouted hysterically, completely unhinged. The ranting was so annoying that Peter almost wanted to punch him. If not for the faint possibility of the first generation Green Goblin II finding redemption, and out of respect for Tobey-Spidey, Peter would have gladly punched him to shut him up.
Seeing Tobey-Spidey return, Peter pointed at the Green Goblin II on the ground: "The task of persuading him is yours."
Tobey-Spidey looked at his frenzied friend, the joy of victory vanishing instantly. He nodded silently, gently placed Doctor Octopus on the ground, and walked toward Green Goblin II. He hesitated, then removed his mask, his voice strained: "Harry..."
The frenzy consuming Green Goblin II instantly subsided. The manic "Green Goblin II" persona faded, and the identity of Harry Osborn regained control. "Pe... Peter?"
Peter (Earth-616) decided to leave them be. He had no intention of interfering in the deeply personal reconciliation between the two friends. Although the plot had deviated significantly, Peter, as the Multiverse traveler, knew that the true meaning of being an omniscient hero was not to act as a prophet, but to understand a character's true nature through their original storyline. This version of Green Goblin II wasn't as utterly ruthless as the Andrew-Spidey version. He wasn't as obsessed as his father. After their reconciliation, he would even sacrifice his life for Tobey-Spidey. They were brothers to the end.
Thinking this, Peter picked up Doctor Octopus, carried him into the ruined church, and left the two conflicted friends alone.
"What are you doing? Don't touch my equipment!" Doctor Octopus struggled violently. But without his mechanical arms, he was just an ordinary stout scientist. Even if Peter didn't hold him, he couldn't carry the weight of the tentacles for long. Peter looked at the squirming man: "Dr. Otto, I'm not interested in your equipment. You don't have to worry."
"Then what do you want?" Doctor Octopus looked at Peter warily.
Peter said: "You were curious about my origins, right? I can tell you."
Doctor Octopus instantly stopped struggling. He was genuinely obsessed with Peter's origins.
The equipment Peter wore and the advanced, almost futuristic knowledge he demonstrated made Doctor Octopus increasingly curious about his origins. As far as he knew, Eastern technology hadn't advanced to this level yet.
Peter said: "Dr. Otto Octavius, you specialize in Nuclear Physics, correct?" Doctor Octopus nodded.
"Then I assume you've studied Quantum Physics?" Peter asked.
"Naturally!" Doctor Octopus asserted. "Nuclear Physics is built upon Quantum Physics. But what does that have to do with your origins?"
"It has everything to do with it," Peter smiled mysteriously. "Because I, my friend, am from another universe!"
Doctor Octopus's expression instantly turned serious. "Another universe?" Then he gasped: "The Parallel Universe Theory? Is it actually real?!!"
Peter merely smiled at him. He had come up with an excellent plan to bring Doctor Octopus over to his side!
