Faye's POV
He didn't give me time to repeat myself. His hand moved with deliberate slowness, drawing me toward him with an almost casual tug.
That gentle pull sent me crashing into his solid chest. The impact knocked the breath from my lungs, and a sound escaped me that was part surprise, part something else entirely.
My lungs forgot how to work. Every cell in my body became hyperaware of the space between us, which had suddenly become no space at all.
Before I could process what was happening, his mouth claimed mine.
There was nothing tentative about it. The kiss crashed over me like a wave, drowning out everything else. My hands fluttered uncertainly before landing on his shoulders, clutching at him as if he were the only solid thing in my spinning world. My heart pounded so hard I wondered if he could feel it through my ribs.
