Chapter 4 - Change of Jobs

The archers who had their arrows thrown back at them flopped around on the ground like dying cockroaches.

But I paid them no attention and stared intently at my own hand.

"...Is this really my power...?"

Raising my Five Senses had sharpened my sight and hearing to animal-like levels.

Raising my Agility made every movement as fast as the wind.

Raising my Strength let me throw arrows farther than any bow could.

Raising my Focus allowed me to hit my target with perfect accuracy down to the millimeter.

"It feels like my body isn't even mine anymore...!"

There was only a slight uncomfortable feeling in my fingertips.

Because my Dexterity had decreased, the sharp sense in my fingers that once let me thread a needle with my eyes closed seemed a little duller.

Still, I could restore it anytime, so it was not a big problem.

"This is amazing. With this, I can do anything...!"

Feeling excited, I decided to check the effect of the last remaining skill.

---

**Dexterous Job Change**

Use dexterity to take on a different job.

---

The jobs I could change to right now were these three.

---

**Available Jobs**

 Production Type

   Woodcutter

 Exploration Type

   Ranger

 Combat Type

   Battle Axe User

---

While I was wondering which job to take, the students who had finished the party came pouring out of the castle.

"Alright, let's start building the settlement! Head into the forest and gather materials!

If we do not finish the houses by nightfall, we will have to sleep outside!"

"Ehh, no way I can sleep outside! That would be so embarrassing!"

"Yeah, sleeping out in the open is something only trash would do!

If you do not want to become trash yourself, put in some effort!"

It seemed every class was starting by making a place to live.

Well-built guys who were probably warriors shouldered axes and headed into the nearby forest.

I had no tools to cut wood, so I decided to become a Ranger for now.

My MP dropped by 10, and my job changed from None to Ranger.

The Ranger job skill, Survival Arts, appeared.

---

**Leopin**

**Job:** None ⇒ Ranger

**Job Skill**

 Survival Arts

Knowledge and techniques to survive harsh conditions.

---

The moment I gained the passive skill Survival Arts, survival knowledge flooded into my head.

"...Okay, first I need to make stone knives and stone axes as tools!"

I followed after the warriors and ran into the forest.

While I was searching through the rocks on the ground, mocking laughter reached my ears.

"Hahaha! What is the trash guy doing?"

"Looks like he is looking for stones! His head must have finally broken!"

I ignored the warriors who were laughing while cutting trees and found a stone with a good grip.

I sharpened the edge by striking it against another rock and completed a Stone Knife.

Next, I shaped a larger flat stone and tied it securely to a thick tree branch with vines.

"Alright, Stone Axe is done too!"

This was my first crafting since starting high school life.

Overjoyed, I raised the stone axe toward the sky like a hero's holy sword.

Flash...!

My body was bathed in light streaming through the clouds and began to sparkle.

A window appeared in front of me.

"Level up!"

The unexpected surprise made me let out a surprised "Oh!"

"I leveled up just by making a knife and axe!? Is this thanks to the Dexterous Growth skill?"

---

"Several times sharper than an iron axe!? For real!?"

While I was shouting in surprise with the stone axe in hand, the warriors started bothering me again.

"Hahaha, look at that! The trash guy is super happy with his stone axe!"

"He looks like a caveman! What can he even do with such a lame axe!"

"Gyahaha! He is probably going to piss himself if he sees fire!"

I ignored their stupid laughter and switched to Woodcutter.

I held the stone axe and activated the Rapid Logging skill on the large tree in front of me.

"Uoooooooh!!"

...Crash!!

Wood chips flew everywhere like water spray, and deep cuts appeared in the tree trunk.

The large tree swayed heavily toward the warriors.

"It's falling!"

When I shouted, the warriors scattered like baby spiders.

A thunderous boom shook the ground. The ones who were too slow fell on their butts with a yelp.

"Wh-what was that...!? He cut down such a huge tree in an instant...!?"

"We warriors can barely cut down thin trees even with axes...!?"

"No way!? Wasn't that trash supposed to be unemployed!?"

Ignoring their shock, I roughly chopped the tree into pieces so it would be easier to carry.
