Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

The three of them arrived at Hell's Kitchen—not the same place where they had met before, but Matt's own home, hidden deep in the city's shadows. Matt, a lawyer by day and a vigilante by night, was known for defending the persecuted and powerless. His sense of justice often brought him into conflict with the city's gangs, yet somehow, he'd managed to survive their wrath.

Harry gently laid the unconscious Felicia on the bed, pulling a blanket over her before stepping out of the room. Moments later, he returned with a cup of hot water, setting it quietly on the bedside table. Then, with one last glance at her resting face, he closed the door softly behind him.

"What are you planning to do next?" Harry asked, sitting on the couch and accepting a beer from Matt. Matt had already mentioned that his girlfriend, Elektra, was currently in Japan.

"I'm going to her," Matt said simply, sitting down and drinking deeply from the bottle.

Harry nodded. "Makes sense." They didn't know each other well; their meeting was purely coincidental, but there was mutual respect between them.

"Thanks for saving Felicia," Harry said, standing up and grabbing his flying skateboard.

Matt finished his beer in one gulp. "Just doing what needed to be done."

Harry nodded once more and left.

——

The cold night wind cut sharply across his face as Harry soared through the air toward the Oscorp building. The faster he flew, the more he tried to calm himself, yet the anger inside him kept burning hotter, raw and directionless.

He entered the underground laboratory through a hidden passage. But his mind was so clouded with rage that he lost control of the skateboard, crashing hard onto the floor.

"Harry!" Dr. Carl's voice echoed from the lab. Since Max handled the energy division, Dr. Carl was the only one stationed here.

"What happened to you?" he asked, rushing over to help Harry up.

"I… I don't know," Harry said breathlessly, eyes glazed. "I just feel this uncontrollable anger, like something's pressing down on my chest."

Dr. Carl quickly moved him onto a diagnostic platform. Harry, though barely focused, still managed to pull up his system display.

Name: Harry Osborn

Age: 21

Condition: Healthy (affected by unknown spiritual energy)

Abilities: Enhanced Body Strength, Static Cling, Spider Sense

Equipment: Armor Suit, Flying Skateboard

"Just as I thought," Harry muttered to himself. The armor's self-repair kept his body fine—but his mind was another story. The rage had started right after Kingpin mentioned Norman Osborn. The connection was clear now.

"Harry," Dr. Carl said after completing his tests, relief in his voice, "you're being affected by a strange spiritual disturbance. Don't worry—it's only amplifying your emotions. It will fade on its own."

His words confirmed what Harry had suspected. The old fragments of the original Harry Osborn's original consciousness still lingered, whispering through his mind.

"Ahh…" Harry exhaled deeply, shielding his eyes from the bright lab lights. His vision cleared. He tore off his armor and dropped it to the floor, pressing a hand to his chest. The heaviness was still there, but he understood it now—it wasn't madness, just resentment. And the only way to quiet it was through Norman Osborn himself.

"Norman Osborn," Harry hissed, his fingers curling into a fist. Even without the spiritual influence, his anger flared at the name. A father who would use his son as a test subject in the name of survival deserved no forgiveness.

"Doctor," Harry said coldly, "you were part of my father's research. I want a full report on all his experiments."

Dr. Carl hesitated, then nodded. "Of course."

"I want it as soon as possible."

Harry secured his armor into a ceiling compartment and left the flying skateboard charging nearby.

"Then I'd better get going," Dr. Carl said with a nervous laugh.

"Going? Where?" Harry turned to him.

"The original research materials are still at your father's old lab," Carl explained, avoiding Harry's eyes. "If I leave now, I can be back by tomorrow morning."

"Do you want me to send a car for you? Or I can come along," Harry offered, watching him carefully.

Carl's hands froze for a moment before he forced a smile. "No need. I'll manage."

Harry studied him for a long second, then nodded and left through the elevator.

When he was gone, Dr. Carl slumped into a chair, pressing both hands to his face. "What should I do?" he muttered miserably.

——

Felicia had taken over most of Oscorp's administrative work, leaving only a few key documents for Harry to sign. Today, however, his mind wasn't on business.

By the time he finished, the sun had already dipped below the skyline. He stretched, pulled out his phone, and glanced at the tracker—Dr. Carl had stopped moving.

"It's time," Harry murmured, standing up.

Ever since Kingpin's claim that Norman was still alive, doubt had been festering in him. He trusted Carl, but not enough to ignore the possibility that he was hiding something. Carl was Norman's friend, his partner, and even owed him his life. If Norman had really faked his death, there was no way Carl didn't know.

Harry mounted his skateboard, deciding against wearing his armor. Somewhere deep down, he still couldn't bring himself to see Norman as just an enemy.

The wind howled as he flew toward the signal's location—a small, aging three-story building, its cracked walls telling of years gone by.

Landing on the roof, Harry drew a few small bombs from his belt and entered through the top. He searched floor by floor, but found only silence and darkness.

"Underground," he muttered, recalling Oscorp's own secret structure. He switched his phone to scanning mode, circling the room until faint traces lit up on the screen.

He tapped on the wall. "Hollow."

Taking a few steps back, he hurled a bomb.

A loud boom split the air, smoke spilling out as Harry shielded his face.

When the dust settled, he saw it—a hidden elevator embedded in the wall.

"Just as I thought," he said softly, stepping in.

He pressed the only button inside. The elevator shuddered, then began to descend into the depths below.
