Chapter 84 - Chapter 83: I Must Fight

The figure who appeared before him was none other than the Ancient One — the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth.

Nearly invincible, she was one of the few beings capable of holding her own against cosmic entities.

If she hadn't chosen to die — or rather, paved the way for the plot — who in this Universe could have killed her?

Would Thanos dare to invade Earth to seize the Stones? He'd be crushed and fleeing long before even reaching the Solar System.

Even a being like Dormammu, a true cosmic powerhouse, was kept outside Earth for centuries by her sheer will alone.

Compared to that, a sub-Skyfather like the purple potato had no chance.

The Ancient One stepped from the void with serene composure, every step blooming into a lotus of light beneath her feet.

Her calmness carried a quiet, infinite grace.

"Sorcerer Ancient One of the Earth's mage lineage greets the young Infinite One," she said respectfully, pressing her palms together and bowing slightly.

Leo raised an eyebrow. "Heh, good to see you too, Sorcerer Supreme. But I have to ask — why call me the 'Infinite One'? What does that even mean?"

He wasn't Eternity, nor any of his followers. What was this strange title?

The Ancient One smiled faintly, her tone distant, almost nostalgic. "The Infinite One… is a being of legend."

"In countless Universes, there are infinite parallels. Each Universe holds a different you. In one world, you might be a soldier; in another, a king… or perhaps even an alien."

"Every decision you make creates another version of yourself — another branch of destiny."

She paused, then her expression turned solemn.

"But you are different."

"In all the countless parallel Universes, there is only one you. You possess infinite futures and infinite possibilities."

"Your existence has shattered the predetermined timelines and rewritten the destinies of countless beings."

"Everyone else has a fixed fate — but you've changed theirs. You've disrupted the sacred balance of time itself."

Leo listened quietly, then shrugged with a smirk. "So, what's your point? What do you want from me?"

He knew she wouldn't have appeared without purpose. If she'd wanted to stop him, she could've done so from afar.

The Ancient One sighed deeply, her golden eyes soft with concern.

"I'm here to ask you not to destroy the destined order — not to interfere with the Avengers' future. Please… let fate unfold."

Leo froze for a moment — then burst into wild laughter.

"Don't destroy destiny? So, you're asking me to just sit and wait for death?"

He sneered, voice thick with defiance. "Do you think the gods of this Universe would ever spare me? Should I live like a rat, hiding in the shadows of their whims?"

"Hell no!"

"If I were someone who bowed to fate, I wouldn't have fought tooth and nail to survive when I was powerless!"

"I've had nothing — nothing but this miserable life! And even so, I'll fight for that tiny shred of hope. Even if it kills me… I'll never regret it!"

His eyes burned like stars, filled with unyielding resolve.

"And what about you, Sorcerer Supreme? You want to die too? Is that your destiny?"

"You want to give up? To die peacefully? That's your choice — but that will never be mine!"

Leo's laughter echoed across the desert, raw and wild.

The Ancient One's calm expression cracked; her body trembled violently.

"What… how did you know?" she whispered, shaken to her core.

No one should have known. She had already chosen her end — sealing her future timeline using the Time Stone itself.

She was ready to pass on her mantle and ascend as a free soul beside Eternity.

But how could he possibly know that?

Her heart raced. Was this the power of the Infinite One?

Leo simply smiled faintly, shaking his head.

Should he tell her that everyone on Earth already knew? That she was just a movie character written for a story?

No. He wasn't cruel like Deadpool — the same lunatic who once let Professor X read his mind, driving the telepath insane after realizing they were all fictional.

Instead, Leo said calmly, "In my homeland, there's an ancient art called Zhou Yi Bagua — divination that reveals past and future."

"You have the Time Stone to see the flow of time. I can do the same… in my own way."

The Ancient One was momentarily stunned. She knew the art he spoke of.

Born and raised in the East, she had heard of such teachings — long lost to time.

If anyone else had said that, she would have dismissed it as nonsense.

But the Infinite One? The being who broke timelines? She believed him.

Still, she had one last question.

"Are you truly unwilling to yield?" she asked quietly.

Leo's grin widened. His eyes gleamed with fierce determination.

"Hahaha! Yield? There are things worse than death. There are things worth fighting for — and things that must never be abandoned."

"Come, Sorcerer Supreme. Let's see whose truth prevails!"

As his voice echoed across the void, the desert air shimmered — the battle between the Infinite One and the Ancient One was about to begin.
