As I stood before Dr. Lee, I felt a mix of emotions swirling inside me. The revelation that I was a vessel for an ancient entity had left me reeling. But I was determined to uncover the truth.
"What do you mean by 'an ancient entity'?" I asked, my voice firm.
Dr. Lee leaned forward, her eyes locked onto mine. "The entity is an ancient being from another realm. It's a being of pure energy, and it's been dormant for centuries. We discovered a way to awaken it, and we chose you as the vessel."
I felt a chill run down my spine. "Why me?"
"You're a compatible host," Dr. Lee replied. "Your brain chemistry, your DNA – everything about you makes you an ideal vessel for the entity."
I shook my head, trying to process the information. "What happens now?"
Dr. Lee's expression turned somber. "Now, we complete the awakening process. And once that's done, there's no going back."
Suddenly, the room began to shake, and the lights flickered. The creature appeared beside Dr. Lee, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.
"It's time," the creature said, its voice dripping with malevolence. "The awakening is complete."
As the creature raised its hand, I felt a searing pain in my mind. The world around me began to distort, and I saw flashes of images – images of a life I didn't know, of people I didn't recognize.
And then, everything went black.
When I came to, I was standing in a familiar room. But it wasn't the institution. It was a room I knew all too well – the room from my nightmares.
The room from Blackwood Manor.
I looked down at my hands, and they weren't mine. They were older, more wrinkled.
A figure stood before me, a figure I knew all too well. It was me – or rather, an older version of myself.
"Welcome, Father," the figure said, its voice dripping with sarcasm. "I've been waiting for you."
My mind reeled as I realized the truth. I wasn't who I thought I was. I was someone else entirely.
And then, it hit me – the massive twist that would change everything.
*I was the one who had been running the institution all along. I was the mastermind behind Project Elysium.*
The room spun around me, and I felt myself falling. The last thing I saw was the figure of my older self, laughing maniacally as the darkness closed in.
*The End... or is it just the beginning?*
