Moline bursted through the ground and she flew towards the direction of masaru's wrist band.
However when she got there she saw Masaru and Jataro being pursued by monokumas.
Moline let out a huff and she flew fast and scooped the boys on her tail.
When she was far away she landed them on the roof of a building and she glared at them.
Moline: what the hell happened?
Masaru: Jataro got mad that I told that big sis junko didn't care about any of us.
Jataro: because you are just making stuff up big sis junko loved me and the other warriors of hope!
Masaru: yeah? if she did loved you why didn't she tell once to take off the mask? You keep making stuff up about yourself face but you look completely normal.
Jataro: she- she didn't know. And neither did I. If I knew my face was normal I would have taken it off days ago.
Moline: that excuse isn't gonna fly. A normal person would have told you to take that off day one.
Jataro: I couldn't because my mom forced me to wear this mask every single day. And I just got used to it.
Moline: of course it was your parent your parent. Now if you would excuse me.
Moline faced her body away from the kids and she unhinged her mouth where max and Harley came out of her pocket dimension.
Max: enjoy that ring while it last I'll need that back since that's technically a confiscated item.
Harley: yeah yeah. I'll give it back.
The two suddenly noticed the kids looking at them and max's attention went to moline.
Max: so what happened?
Moline: monokumas chased them.
Just as she said that monokumas climed their way to the rooftop which scared Jataro and Masaru.
Max: shit. Moline keep an eye on the kids. We will take out the trash.
Harley had a grin since she wanted to test out the storage ring she had in a combat scenario.
One monokuma tried to slash at max but he grabbed and deflected the attacker and used his elbow to tear off the arm of the monokuma.
And he used that tore off arm and bashed the head off the bear.
Meanwhile another monokuma tried to sneak attack him but max ducked and grabbed the leg of the bear and slammed it into the ground over and over until he decided to use it to bash other monokumas.
Harley on the other hand was bashing monokumas with her bat while shooting with the other but she sometimes swapped her bat for her other gun and rained a hail of bullets at the bears.
Which having the ability to switch between her arsenal was something Harley wasn't gonna say no to.
Harley ducked under the claws of a monokuma and she swapped her gun for her bat and she sent it flying towards max.
Harley: coming in hot!!
Max heard her and like Harley he batted the monokuma towards its brethren while still holding the destroyed monokuma he used as a battering ram.
Jataro and Masaru were watching the carnage with shocked expression because the monokumas where made with strong systems that can be destroyed easily especially bare handed.
Max grabbed another monokuma and he used to stop the stab of its brethren and he kicked it off the roof.
Harley took out a bomber monokuma and she decided to make an explosive exit.
She grabbed one of the grenades and bit the pin of and let it rest with the others in the bag.
Harley: run for it!
Max didn't get what she meant but when he saw the bag full of grenades he got the idea and run along with her along with ordering moline to get the two kids out of the line of fire.
The monokumas were confused on why their prey ran but it was too late the bombs exploded leaving big explosion.
Harley who along with max were a safe distance away Harley looked at her handy work with a proud look.
Harley: I love the sounds of explosions in the morning.
Max: honestly that was kinda smart.
Moline: guess this broad's chaotic nature is useful.
Harley: I'll take that as a compliment.
Moline: whatever.
Max then noticed the two kids who were away from them but max didn't bother to interact with them yet since they clearly didn't trust him.
Harley: so what do we do with them?
Max: that's up to them. If they want to run around with no protection against the monokumas that's on them
Harley kick max in the knee but max barely felt it.
She then got close to the two and couched down to be at eye level.
Harley: ignore him. He's just a grouch. So who are you names.
The two hesitated they didn't know if to trust her but her appearance reminded the two of big sis junko.
Masaru knows that she wasn't big sis junko but her presence felt different her look more genuine.
Meanwhile jataro was just looking at Harley as if she was junko but once he shook his head the image of junko was replaced by Harley.
Masaru: I'm-I'm masaru daimon.
Jataro: Jataro, Jataro komori.
Harley: well nice to meet the two of you.
Max: if you're finished with introductions we need to find a place to hide for now.
Harley gave max an look that said are you serious? But max just ignored it and gestured for the three to follow.
Max: moline go back I'm sure that you want to spent some time on your own.
Moline: thank god.
With no other words moline demateralized and returned back into max's psyche.
Max and Harley walked in front of the kids with Masaru and Jataro were a few steps behind them not trusting them but knowing that they can't directly fight monokumas.
Harley decided to figure out what was up with max's behavior towards the kids but of course it was in a low tone.
Harley: what the hell is your deal? Why are you being an asshole all the sudden?
Max: it was an observation. And plus you know that these kids are not right in the head.
Harley: you know the reason why.
Max: yeah. Gaslighting,and abuse but that's not an excuse for the piles of bodies and blood on their hands.
Max looked at Harley in the eye.
Max: you see them as broken kids. But I see kids that need to realize that they are fulfilling the desires of a psychopath who wants the world to burn and kill everyone even herself because of despair. If you ask me that's idiotic.
Harley couldn't deny that especially with the bodies scattered around them and from what she heard this junko did.
Max saw a convenience store and they decided to stay here for a while.
Max: welp it's better than nothing.
After a while of setting up max grabbed a bar a chocolate and bit it down it didn't fill him up but it was more to satisfy his sweet tooth.
Harley: so what's the move now?
Max: well so far the hideout in the sewers aren't gonna with and Toko,yuta and Komaru were captured by those assholes.
As he said this he walked back and forth with one hand covering his mouth in thought and another on his waist.
Max: and now we are currently stuck with two culprits who started all of this. So if I were to clear our current position is basically aimless.
There was a moment of silence and no one said anything because what was there to say?
Max: I'm going outside to get some air and think.
While max went outside Harley saw they two kids and this was a chance to hopefully understand that these kids aren't maniacs. Which okay they were but maniac who basically with actual reasons.
Harley: so since we are stuck together. I'm curious to know you two.
Masaru and Jataro looked at each other uncertain but when they saw Harley giving them a patient expression which both of them weren't used to.
Meanwhile with max he lied about needing to get some air because he noticed that he was being watched and he looked at the direction where he felt the stare at and he disappeared in a blur of speed
To the stalker max disappeared in a blur which he can barely see which suprised him a bit but he felt a presence behind him and when he turned the barrel of a revolver was aimed at his head.
Max pointed his revolver at his stalker who was a guy with long hair that look like tendrils and red eyes in a tuxedo.
He had the air of a peak human but max wasn't impressed or didn't feel threatened because yes this guy felt superhuman but it was nothing compared to his which he barely used at all.
Max: who or what the hell are you? And why are you stalking me?
Izuru: max McKnight. So you found me out I'm impressed.
Max: I asked you a question. Answer it.
Izuru: my name is izuru kamakura. The ultimate hope.
Max: again with this hope bullshit. So what are supposed be a god? Because if you are I'm disappointed I would have expected a god to be more than a messy haired edge lord.
Izuru: I'm no god. I'm genetically engineered to be the god of talent itself. Not literally speaking.
Max took a closer look at kamakura and he felt something inside the soul of this guy it felt as if the one standing before him is just an artifact psyche that was infecting his soul.
Of course max didn't just believe in soul tampering he was smart enough to figure out that not only it was soul tampering but also his brain and body must have suffered from experiments.
He was hammered the reality of the human body is that both the body and the soul are one in the same as the you experience something biological like trauma or some form of brainwashing it might not be with spiritual energy but still with or without it, it can still leave a mark.

Max decided to put his gun down since he felt no hostility from kamakura.
Max: why are you stalking me?
Izuru: I was making an observation and yes I already know about your origins that you and that Harley girl are from other worlds an interesting turn about.
Max: what are you talking about?
Izuru: It doesn't matter that you know since you don't seem to care much. But I'm the one who leaked the location of Komaru naegi.
Max raised a brow. While yes he didn't care about this who thing the fact that it was izuru was the one responsible for future foundation being here

Izuru: no not really I only provided the leaked information that's all. As for my reason. Well. I want to see who is actually stronger. Hope or despair-
He was interrupted when max fired a shot at him and he dodged the energy bullet.

Max was about to argue but at this point he was just done with this guy.

With that he jumped off the edge of the building leaving Izuru alone.
Izuru honestly thought that max was interesting since he doesn't care about hope or despair which for someone who wants to see the outcome of which is stronger max's opinion struck a core with him.
Because a part of him sees the point that by the end of this to the point of view of max this whole thing is completely pointless.
He felt his hand touch something from within his pocket and he pulled it out to see a galaga hair pin which belonged to chiaki the ultimate gamer who bleed out in front of him.
For some reason he felt a strange feelings sadness anger and emptiness.
He remembered the promise junko made him that despair was more of a thrill than hope and chiaki showed him hope at the cost of her dying.
Thinking back on it what really was the point of this?

And not only that seeing this destruction now it felt ridiculous and pointless.

For once Izuru kamakura was lost on what to think.

When he came back to his senses he looked at the hair pin and he felt something wierd as if a part of him not as Izuru kamakura but as hajime was coming back to him.
He shook his head while pocketing the hairpin thinking that it was just phantom memories.
"Back with Max"
He went back to the store and he when he was about to enter his hearing picked up a conversation.
"And why do you look like big sis junko?"
This question was asked by Jataro and max decided to eavesdrop on the conversation to see if Harley is actually getting these kids to come to their senses.
Harley stuck out her tongue in disgust.
Harley: don't compare me to her. The two of us looking alike is just a coincidence.
Masaru: but you have the Same vibes as her but you feel different.
Harley: I guess you can say that unlike her I'm more honest about my opinions and feelings.
Jataro: so you think I'm disgusting?
Harley: you are a kid with a messed up mindset of hates equals a form of preference. Which says that you never experienced genuine love.
Jataro looked shocked and Harley's gaze turned to Masaru.
Harley: and you, you are just a kid that was abused by an alcoholic bastard and you thought your body count made you feel powerful over adults.

He was cut off when Harley spawned a knife Masaru thought she was gonna stab him but instead she cut her palm open and let her blood fall showing that her blood also had some glowing green parts.
Masaru and Jataro took a step back thinking that it was some trick but she showed her palm which healed instantly which left both of them flabbergasted.
Masaru: wha- what are you?
Harley: a victim of an experiment. You think I was born with that green stuff? I wasn't. My scumbag parents injected me with a drug that basically made me strong at the cost of me suffer a burn from hell on the inside of my body which let me tell you it wasn't pleasant.
She looked at both of them in the eyes no lies and pretending but honestly.
Harley: and they did this to me when I was a kid which made the burn even worse. It was hellish. Believe it or don't.
They were quiet because the two kids needed time to process this all their life they thought that adults were demons who only abused kids.
But seeing Harley's green pulsing blood and they didn't feel like she was lying to them.
Harley got up and decided to wipe the blood of the floor because it was getting wierd having a small puddle of blood in the middle of the place.
And that was max's cue to enter and so he did.
Max: yo I'm back.
Harley: what took you?
Max: monokumas.
That was a lie but he wasn't gonna get to details now.
Harley: okay. But seriously. What are we gonna do because unless something magically happens. We are stuck here.
Just at that moment a loud horn sounded from on top of them and both of got outside and saw a monorail and max felt the presence of Komaru's soul signature and along with a young soul which he guessed was another members of the warriors of hope.
Max: looks like you called it.
Harley: welp for once my luck isn't shitty.
Masaru and jataro looked front inside of store confused at why are they looking at the monorail .
Max: sorry moline but I need you to watch over these kids again.
Moline: damn it. Fine.
She went back towards the two and she looked a bit annoyed.
Moline: guess I'm looking after you idiots again.
While Masaru and Jataro didn't take the insult well max and Harley got ready to enter the monorail after conforming all was in order each of them with their own enhancements jumped and busted through the window.
However to their own suprise they weren't the only ones who busted through window in front of them was Toko who had a completely different body language and her eyes were red an a long tongue was out.
This was genocide Jack Toko's other personality.
When they saw each other Jack suddenly cackled and threw a scissor at max who caught it.
Max was a bit caught off guard by Toko's shift in personality but he knew that she felt strange since he sensed two souls in Toko.
Harley got out her gun to shoot Toko but max stopped her.
Max: easy who are you?
Of course anyone would say that was a stupid question but if two souls live in one body one of the other has a different identity.
Jack: who I am? What have been living under a rock pretty boy? I am the ultimate murderous fiend genocide Jack! Or I don't mind which ever.
Harley: what the hell happened to her?
Max: she has a split personality.
Harley: are kidding?
Jack: I'm as real as you can be- speaking of which. Why does this broad look like junko?
This made Harley's eye twitch.
Harley: compare me to that bitch again I dare you.
Jack: I would. But I have a Dekumaru to save?
Max: Komaru?
Jack: yeah her she got kidnapped by one of the brats so now I'm here to save her. Though i would have rather that it was master.
Max: alright let's stop wasting time and save Komaru.
With that said they went through the carts of the monorail and while doing so they found against monokumas.
While doing this max noticed that the monorail was picking up speed he didn't know if it was because of current warrior of hope controlling it or if it's an outside interference.
Whatever the case they kept going till they finally reached the final cart without wasting time max kicked the doors open.
Only to reveal a wierd scene with Komaru restrained and being groped by mechanical hands and a girl with pink hair and demon horned head accessory.
Max/harley: what the fuck?
Jack: whoah what's going on here? Is this somekind of fan service moment?
Komaru: it's not what it looks like!! Help out here!
Kotoko: well I wasn't expecting for her to actually get saved. But honestly you tongue lady aren't adorbs at all.
However she also saw max and Harley but she specifically focused more on Harley but she shook her head to focus on the main issue.
Kotoko: well unfortunately for you non adorbs people need to be put down!
She pulled out a makeshift gun with chattering teeth and fired at Jack who easly sidestepped and rushed at kotoko.
Kotoko not expecting her shot to be dodged didn't have time to react to jack's speed.
However instead of skin cuts her clothes were cut to shreds leaving her in a pink camisole.
Max having the decency to respect women he turned his head and grabbed a blindfold in his jacket pocket that he uses for training and wrapping it around his eyes.
Kotoko: y-you pedo!, how dare you tear my clothes to shreds!?
Jack: hey just be lucky that I only did that amount to you. Now back to business.
She pulled a scissor close to kotoko's chin.
Jack: where is my master at?
Kotoko: I would ne-
She was interrupted when the monorail shook and max pushed Harley to the wall and he used his back arms too attach both himself and her to the wall.
From the outside the monorail was a speeding bullet until it finally broke off its hinges and busted through a building.
After the shaking was done max dismissed his black arms and they walked through the smoke and saw Komaru hugging jack and crying.
They didn't intervene because this was obviously a private moment.
That was cut off until Jack sneezed and Toko was back.
Max: (so that's how it works)
Harley: if you two are done we need to get this door open.
Toko was about to say something but decided to dismiss it since she knew that both her and Jack don't share memories.
After max and Harley got the doors open they entered another colosseum but this one is filled with water.
Max: ah shit here we go again.
Kotoko was standing on a platform far from touching the water and back into her normal attire and she did a curtsy
Kotoko: i managed to change back into my regular outfit but unfortunately at the cost of you wrecking the moving fighter castle. You have seriously made me mad.

She then summoned her robot as max already expected moline appeared and ready to pounce just as the robot was about to slam it axe at them moline once again intervened and crushed the robot.
After that kotoko was confused why her robot failed but she also felt fearful because she lost the monokuma kids were about to grab her but jack intervened and pushed kotoko off the platform.
But before hitting the ground max grabbed her by the back collar and just brought her in front of the wet ground.
Kotoko: ugh. Now my clothes are wet!
Toko came down and walked over near kotoko.
Toko: shut up I missed my chance before but this time I'm getting you to talk where's master byakuya!?
Nagisa: what do you think you are doing to her?
The four turned and saw nagisa shingetsu.
Nagisa: how immature of you. Actually no it's rather demonic. I swear ganging up on a child is a special skill all you adults have.
Max and Harley looked at each other because they were abused by their own parents in a way but they didn't have anything against.
However max has killed some child lost souls but it was mostly just to put them out their misery or just too far gone.

Nagisa looked into Max's eyes and he felt no hostility from him which he just brushed it off.

Nagisa was about to say something but Harley beat him to it.

That shut everyone up and the kids were looking at Harley's expression of genuine frustration but nagisa recovered and decided to focused on what he came here for
Nagisa: enough. There's something I came here to do.
Max: that is?
Nagisa: I want all four of you to leave this town.
Toko and Komaru were suprised by that Harley however felt like this was gonna backfire considering that Monica betrayed two of her crew one disobedience won't go unnoticed.
Nagisa: you want to leave don't you? That's why you've been roaming around. So I'm letting you escape. Satisfied?
Kotoko: nagisa hold on are you sure about that if Monica finds out-
Nagisa: I know but it's my decision as the leader.
Toko: hold on! Do you seriously think we would believe you?
Nagisa: up until now our paradise plan was going smoothly until you showed up and now I'm letting go that's what you wanted isn't it? So just go and leave us alone.

In the corner of his eye max noticed a kid with a camera and he pretended to look at nagisa while focusing his black matter to make a small and thin needle he flicked it with his thumb unnoticed but the rest but kotoko noticed since she was behind him and looked to see the kid with a camera.
And she realized that nagisa was in deeper trouble.
Nagisa: it's not a trick it's-
Kotoko: nagisa!
She finally got up and ran to nagisa and grabbed his hand to pull him away from the teens.
Nagisa: what are you doing!? Can't you see I-
Kotoko: I saw one of the demons pointing at something and I saw a monokuma kid with a broken camera. I don't know what he did but that means that Monica already knows about what you're doing.
Nagisa: then that's more than reason to get these guys as fast as possible.
Kotoko: don't you get it dummy you are in deep trouble what if you-
Nagisa: I'll try and explain why i did what I did.
Kotoko: but-
Nagisa: kotoko I appreciate you worrying about me but I have to do this everyone has high expectations of me and I won't fail said expectations.
Kotoko: this isn't about expectations I'm worried that you might get yourself killed you idiot!
Nagisa just turned back to walk to the teens and looked at Kotoko with a resolute expression.
Nagisa: i suggest you don't follow me you don't want to hated by Monica? Do you?
To that kotoko didn't answer because she knew exactly what Monica can do to them.
Nagisa walked over to Komaru and to further prove his word he grabbed the wristband and after he tinkered with it and after a click it was free from her wrist.
"There you are free now"
Harley whispered to max that she was honestly impressed by nagisa's honesty.
After convincing a reluctant Toko the got out of the building following nagisa to the secret exit.
Meanwhile moline and the two kids.
Moline was leading the kids to where max and the others were headed
After they made it the two kids saw nagisa walking with the teens.
Masaru: what in the? Why is nagisa with the those guys?
Moline: the blue haired kid wants them to leave because they were getting in the way too much.
Jataro: huh? But won't Monica get angry?
Moline: guess you're friend is willing to take the risk for your paradise.
That gave them pause because they realized that they were too focused on the game and less on the paradise.
Back with group.
They followed nagisa who was in front taking the lead.
All of them were silent since Toko and Komaru didn't fully trust nagisa which is understandable.
But max and Harley were quiet because they already knew that Monica was a backstabber and would try something.
After a while of following nagisa they stopped because noticed monokumas gathering around them ready to attack.
Which is something nagisa is clearly suprised since he said that they won't attack them if he's with them
Guess they were right about Monica trying something.
Harley and max took out their guns and started to rain fire on the monokumas surrounding them easily.
When that was over they looked at nagisa suspiciously.
Toko: what the hell was that!? You said they wouldn't attack us if we were with you around us.
Nagisa: they shouldn't have. I don't know what's going on.
Komaru: you weren't lying when you said you wanted us out were you?
Max: if he wanted to lie he would have sent the monokumas after us instead of coming out himself and it's clear why the monokumas attacked us is because Monica doesn't like what you are doing.
Nagisa: I- I'm sure she will understand if I just explained it.
Harley: judging from what I've seen likely not.
Nagisa: she "has" to understand she has high expectations for me and I'm not gonna let everything we did to crumble.
Max and Harley looked at each other by this time they put together that expectation is a trigger word for nagisa but it's a trigger in terms of proving himself to what others expect.
They continued dealing with hoards of monokumas but they felt with them but while they were doing that moline and the other two were following the group and when they were near the passage way Komaru stooped and looked at a pile of corpses.
By which Komaru asked why they were so afraid of all adults in general in which surprisingly nagisa revealed why.
Apparently they were part of the elementary course of hope's speak academy in which they were treated badly "not surprising."
And apparently nagisa was treated like a lab rat with an i.v on his arm and he was sleep deprived and after a while they were about to commit suicide but that where junko came into the picture she abducted them and this was at the tip where the tragedy was in it's starting phase so the disappeard unnoticed.
And also he said that Monica was apparently paralyzed which max and Harley didn't believe for a second.
After a while junko gave them the idea of a child only paradise and that's where this whole thing originated from and nagisa also said that their first kill was an adult that was just a stranger and from there things just got worse and it brought a sick satisfaction to junko.
Toko mentioned that junko was treated like the queen of a cult which she was definitely right on that part.
And that's where nagisa revealed that he and the other warriors killed their own parents which wasn't a surprise.
From there they began to expand their horizons of the child's paradise and then junko died which hit them hard but that's where Monica influenced them to continue their plan
Harley: wow you sure were very talkative and why exactly did you reveal your backstory?
Nagisa: I guess, I just wanted you to realize that even though you see us doing something evil we are doing good by the end of this.
Max: no what you are doing is pure idiocy.
Nagisa: huh!? What is that supposed to mean!?
Max: Masaru said that if he becomes an adult he would kill himself. Those that apply to you too?
Nagisa: yeah. Why?
Max: how old are you?
Nagisa: huh? Why does that matter?
Max: just answer my question.
Nagisa: I'm 12 years old.
Max: and how long have you been planning this paradise of yours? Give me a number
Nagisa: half a year. I just turned 12 so-
From there he realized something.
Nagisa: don't tell me.
Max: guess it clicked. Try and deny it but you can't stop time and whether you like it or not you will be teenager like us. So guess you are planning to kill yourself after this?
Nagisa just shook his head in denial and just told them to follow him to the hidden passage way but max can tell that what he said shook him which is exactly what he aimed for because sometimes you have to lay in the harsh reality
