chapter 171 part 1

Chapter 171 (Revised): Batman and His Little Green-Haired Darling

Walking along the edge of Foam Wave Archipelago, Ace turned his head to look at Ren Arakawa, who was following him.

"I haven't asked you yet, what's your name?"

"Ren."

Ace nodded. "I just heard them say your bounty is three hundred million? Why is it so high?"

Pirate Ren Arakawa raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Is mine high? Don't you have over five hundred million?"

"Huh? Me?" Ace pointed at his freckled face. "I only have 130 million Berry. Where did five hundred million come from?"

"What's the name of the pirate crew you're in?"

"Of course, it's the Black Peach Pirates founded by yours truly. Is there a problem?"

Ren Arakawa nodded. His memories aligned.

At this point in time, Ace had just started making a name for himself. He hadn't fought Jinbe yet, nor had he joined the Whitebeard Pirates. His strength was still somewhat lacking.

However, the most terrifying thing about the Pirate World is that after just two or three battles, one's strength can rise to a very high level, transforming even more drastically than a Saiyan.

See Nika Luffy for reference.

Of course, Luffy wasn't the most abnormal. There was an even more monstrous King of Runaways who could become invincible just by doing push-ups.

Pirate Ren Arakawa followed Ace to the edge of Island Number 3, where he immediately spotted a Jolly Roger with a spade as its background.

"Heh, this is my ship. Come on, get on board first. I'll go get the money for you."

Pirate Ren Arakawa said very politely, "Alright, sorry to trouble you."

Ace jumped onto the ship first, where his crew had been waiting respectfully for some time.

When they saw another person leap onto the deck, the crew members were somewhat startled.

The Black Peach Pirates' doctor, Makud Stratus, asked Ace, "Who is this?"

Ace replied with a smile, "Ah! This gentleman is here to rob me. I'm going to get him the money."

"What? What?!" The sniper, Mihail, immediately aimed his gun at Ren Arakawa.

And the ship's doctor, Makud Stratus, also drew his cutlass, on high alert.

"Hahaha!" Ace laughed. "My crew is just like this. I knew they'd react this way."

"Captain!" The sniper Mihail's hand was on the trigger. "Should I fire?"

Ace shook his head. "Ah, you can't hit him."

"Damn it!" Mihail frowned. "Is he an Observation Haki user?"

The ship's doctor, Makud Stratus, gritted his teeth. "Captain! Does that mean your Flare-Flare Fruit powers are also useless against this guy? You probably couldn't do anything to him either, or you wouldn't have come back. What should we do?!"

Ace scratched his head. "You've misunderstood this gentleman. He's just taking some money, he means no harm."

"Just... taking some money."

The sniper, Mihail, was so speechless he didn't know what to do. He could only watch as Ace took out a cash box, grabbed a large handful of money from inside, stuffed it into a black bag, and tossed it to the "robber."

Ren Arakawa took the bag and weighed it in his hand. "Okay, I'm leaving."

"Wait!"

Just as Ace shouted, a powerful pressure instantly enveloped him.

Ace stared at Ren Arakawa with shocked eyes. "I... I was just going to say, if we meet on the high seas in the future, I'd really like to spar with you."

Ren Arakawa retracted his Conqueror's Haki. "We probably won't meet. The place I'm going is the complete opposite of yours. Alright, goodbye!"

Watching Ren Arakawa leave, the sniper Mihail, the ship's doctor Makud Stratus, and the cook Bon-chan, who had never shown his face and had no combat ability, all breathed a sigh of relief.

"Cap-captain," the cook Bon-chan said, holding a large iron ladle. "What's that guy's bounty? Just from the way he walks, he seems so strong!"

Ace replied nonchalantly, "Three hundred million."

"Three... three hundred million!?"

Bruce Ren stood before Jack's door. He thought for a long time before finally knocking.

*Knock, knock, knock.*

Gotham wasn't exactly peaceful. After some movement inside the room, Jack's wife stood at the door, looking at her neighbor through the peephole.

"It's Mr. Bruce. Is there something you need?"

"It's nothing, I just... I've been watching the news recently, and there are too many low-quality electrical appliances that can easily cause fires. I have a lot of good-quality ones over here. It wouldn't be good for anyone if a fire started, right?"

Inside, Jane Quinn found this a bit baffling, but she still managed a smile. "We don't actually have that many appliances at home... though we do have an electric heater."

"Wait a moment!" Bruce Ren said quickly, then ran back to his home and came out again. "That... my electric heater is a bit old too, and it's too late to buy a new one now. How about this, I'll give you one tomorrow. Just consider it a welcoming gift between neighbors, okay?"

Jane Quinn replied, "That would be too much... Is this appropriate, sir?"

"There's nothing inappropriate about it. Isn't this for everyone's good?"

Jane Quinn looked at the electric heater in the corner with a somewhat pitiable expression, but still replied, "Alright, then thank you in advance, Mr. Bruce!"

Having settled this matter, Bruce Ren breathed a sigh of relief.

In the Ren Arakawa chat group, Pirate Ren Arakawa reported: "I've got a rough idea of the timeline. Ace has only recently set sail and hasn't joined the Whitebeard Pirates yet. Based on recalling this ancient memory... Enel's research on the Rumble-Rumble Fruit should be quite advanced by now."

Uchiha Ren Arakawa: "This is tricky. Enel was defeated by the plot. If we take Crocodile as a reference, who only had a bounty of 80 million early on, spent some time in prison, and came out with a bounty of 1,965,000,000 Berry, then an Enel who isn't defeated by the plot should be at a level of at least one billion or more."

Stephen Fang shook his head: "You can't just look at bounties and anime performance. Of course, you can't rule out that Kishimoto doesn't understand science and has no concept of what two hundred million volts means, or that it can't kill someone."

Pirate Ren Arakawa: "Kishimoto definitely doesn't understand science. He never even drew One Piece."

Sitting on the sofa, Bruce Ren listened to the chattering and banter of his other selves in his mind. He suddenly felt as if he had four close friends. Listening to them, he drifted off to sleep.

At midnight, black smoke suddenly billowed from the apartment.

It was the sign of an electrical fire.

By the time the firefighters arrived after receiving the report, it was already too late.

They got out of their trucks and hurriedly began to move equipment, but their actions seemed slow and sluggish. They dawdled for a long time before finally connecting the fire hose to the pipe and starting to spray water on the fire.
