Vice Admiral Strawberry—the man whose body should have folded from Leo's low blow—was still standing, his eyes blazing with humiliation and fury.
"You think I will be defeated by your mere child's trick?!" Strawberry shrieked. "You barely bruised me! You will die for that insult!"
Leo stood, ready for the counter-attack, the adrenaline still pumping. "Don't tell me you have coated your balls with Haki, or worse—you don't have them!"
Strawberry's face instantly turned bright red, a color that rivaled his pink attire. He roared, his sword technique breaking down into raw, enraged slashes. "YOU!"
Leo dodged quickly; the Vice Admiral's furious attack only sliced the air where he had been standing.
Leo retreated two quick steps, planting his feet firmly. "Now I will be serious.
"You can't defeat me!" Strawberry screamed, charging forward, ignoring his injuries.
"We will see," Leo retorted, throwing himself toward the Vice Admiral, matching his aggression.
The momentum instantly changed. Strawberry blocked the incoming strike, but the sheer force of Leo's power and his perfectly focused Armament Haki was too much. The Vice Admiral was visibly pushed backward, skidding several feet on the dust and broken debris.
The pirates watching roared, "The momentum has changed! The Vice Admiral is getting pushed back!"
Sekiro remained stationary, standing watch over the unconscious Kuma and the downed Vice Admiral Onigumo. His presence was a silent guarantee: if Leo faltered, the Wolf would intervene. But Leo's eyes were firm, demanding no help.
Leo pressed his advantage, his taunts cutting through the air as fiercely as his Haki. "You call yourself a Vice Admiral and think that title makes you untouchable?"You Vice Admirals always show up in one chapter… only to fall in the very same breath. I've finished a bowl of noodles faster than your downfall."
Strawberry stumbled, enraged and confused by the bizarre, non-stop barrage of insults.
"What are you talking about?! You don't make sense!" Strawberry yelled, his footing lost.
"You don't need to understand!" Leo shouted, moving closer. "The only Vice Admiral I acknowledge is Marine Hero Garp!"
Strawberry roared, abandoning all pretense of defense. He dedicated his entire remaining power to a final, desperate finishing move. His two reverse-grip swords began to spin rapidly, creating a pink, deadly vortex that sucked in the surrounding debris.
"If you want to die, so be it! Reverse-Grip: Crimson Judgment Spiral!"
Leo met the terrifying spectacle with a sense of calm. "So, you want to finish this quickly? Then I will show you as well!"
Leo closed his eyes, remembering the extreme pressure of the final, desperate training on Rusukaina—the moment he had to surpass the limits that had nearly killed Luffy(Gear 2 with haki). He channeled all his two years of training into a single, devastating moment.
Leo snapped his eyes open, and with a blur of pure speed, he brought his borrowed sword up in a focused, upward arc.
SPIRIT DRIVE!
The two attacks collided in a massive, blinding BOOM! The sound wave was deafening, the force ripping through the roots, kicking up a colossal cloud of dust and debris that instantly obscured the scene.
Pirates and Bounty Hunters shrieked, shielding their eyes. "Wow! They are strong!"
Seconds later, as the dust slowly faded, the crowd held its breath, straining to see the winner.
The image revealed Leo standing, his borrowed Marine saber still held firmly, though his body was bruised and his breathing ragged.
"Hey! He's standing!" a pirate shouted in disbelief. "That means... he won!"
On the other side, Vice Admiral Strawberry was kneeling, his armor shattered, blood staining his coat. His head was bowed, his twin swords lying broken beside him. He looked up at Leo, his eyes wide with defeat.
"W-who are you?" Strawberry croaked, his voice barely a whisper.
Just then, two figures—Vice Admiral Onigumo, barely able to walk, his arms dripping blood, and a Marine medic—rushed toward Strawberry.
"Strawberry! We need to retreat!" Onigumo commanded, fear finally overriding his rank. "We cannot defeat them! Look, Kuma is starting to work again!"
The massive figure of Bartholomew Kuma was slowly, agonizingly, rising from the rubble, sparks flying from his damaged casing, his mission to protect the ship still overriding his injuries.
The three remaining Vice Admirals, humiliated and beaten, began their organized retreat, signaling the defeat to the remaining Marine forces. The pirates, satisfied and terrified, also melted away, not wanting to deal with the inevitable arrival of more Navy backup.
Leo and Sekiro stood alone in the devastation of Grove 44, silent and victorious.
Author's Note:
I created the main character, Leo, to have a balance in his personality. He can be serious when the situation demands it—focused, sharp, and calm. But at the same time, he isn't always tense or strict. He knows when to relax, joke around, and be lighthearted. This mix makes him feel real and someone who can face heavy moments with strength, yet still enjoy the simple and funny parts of life. I hope you enjoy following his journey as much as I enjoyed creating him, and right now, I know the chapters are short because I've been busy with my work. But after Chapter 70, the chapters will be much longer.
