I can't believe I spent a total of one month—work-free in Jide's house. It was really worth it, though.
We did a lot of amazing things. So many things I can't stop giggling about.
We went to a musical show concert together, watched a movie, go hiking, watched a basketball match, go roller coasting, visit the zoo, went on dinner date, played cards together, flied together in his jet, catch the sea ride in his flying boat, made love in his cruise ship, go bowling together, attended a local polish festival together, went mall shopping together, bought an expensive painting kit where we painted each others faces and took silly selfies, attended a polish stage drama and comedy night show, visits an art museum, went fishing together, went horseback riding, had ice-cream sundae night and went picnic together.
It was fun that I wanted to do everything again and again and again with him.
He got to teach me some of his local African dishes, mainly from his region. Such as; Ofe-Onugbu (Bitter leaf soup), Ofe-Oha (Evergreen leaf soup), Ofe-Achara (Elephant Grass soup), Ofe-Okwuru (Okra soup), Ofe-Achi (Brachystegia Eurycoma soup), Ofe-Ogbono (Dika Nut soup), Ofe-Okazi (Wild Spinach soup), Ofe-Nsala (White soup).
Alongside some swallows that do go well with the soup vibes. Such as; Fufu (Fermented Cassava), Nri ji (Pounded yam), Utala Ede (Garri and Cocoyam), Semo (Grounded millets).
I know it was kind of cracky at first when I tasted them. But I have to get used to it since we're dating.
I got to be friends with his younger sister—Wendy. She's the least of all the kids in his family.
She and her two adorable kids visits almost all the weekend I spent at her brother's place because her husband was out of the country for business.
Wendy told me a lot more about her brother—beautiful things I didn't know was hidden inside him.
She shared with me part of her childhood stories and beautiful memories of her and her siblings. I could say she was more like a talker but it's in the family.
Just take for instance people in relationships don't converse all the time? It will probably make the relationship look so boring and the other party wanting some space.
Well, Jide never kept silent in our relationship. We talk all the time—especially him. He does the talking more than I do. And when we're poles apart from each other, he'd call and never wants to hang up.
He doesn't mind calling my phone twenty times a day just to hear my voice. And I love him for that if nothing else.
Another thing I observed about him during this one month was that; he was too fond of kids.
Apart from the part where he plays with almost all the kids he sees in the park and buy them gifts, toys and even ice-cream whenever we go out, he took his sister's kids like they were his.
The little time Wendy spent with us, I saw how Jide played cheerfully with her kids.
He carried them on his back and played horseback, did hide and seek and even took them to the kids shopping mall.
Indeed, I have never seen a man that caring towards other people's kids in my entire life before.
The last time I saw a man this caring was coming from my dad's.
That guy could do anything possible just to celebrate his birthday at orphanage homes and charity centres.
And it felt like I was meeting his second version.
Wendy told me that's how he plays with the rest of her siblings' kids too, not just hers.
Well, it was too sad I was just the opposite—maybe not really the opposite, I don't know. But I used to have this feeling that I can't take care of kids.
I never had a younger one in my life and putting up with a kid or two was actually not my thing. I don't know how people do it but I definitely hope I don't become a bad mother in the future.
I watched how Jide was so familiar with Wendy's husband when he returned and wanted to take his family home.
It makes me wonder how much Sebastian could cope with my future husband. That guy might just end up breaking my marriage a countless time. Because he obviously thinks no guy is good enough for his sister.
And something in me tells me he'll never accept Jide to be my boyfriend.
It was the last weekend of the month. I was still at Jide's place, not ready to go back to my villa. But, I still had to go, though. I know I have bunch of work waiting on my desk.
I wished I could still cancel all the business appointments and decline all the business calls for another one month and come sacrifice my time at his place again.
I really loved the work-free holiday or should I say pre-honeymoon vibes?
I don't want to go home.
I don't mind begging Sebastian to help me handle all the business meetings for a month. But he is super cunning.
Like the novel; The cunning tortoise.
My big brother doesn't mind going to any length to see what's keeping his sister away for a whole month.
I was in the bathtub with Jide, playing foamy bubbles. "Oh man, look at my crystal ball. Can you make a crystal ball like mine?" I giggled, blowing away a bigger bubble.
Jide popped it off, causing a fake frown on my face. "You just wrecked my crystal ball!"
He laughed richly. I love his laughter. "You look cute whenever you're annoyed. Come here." He made me lie on his chest. I love his heartbeat.
I smiled, gracing my fingers on his torso.
We stayed mute for a while. His fingers raking my cornrows hair.
After a while, I said. "I really wish we could do this again. I mean all the fun we had."
He looked down at me, "We still can."
I gave him a light punch on the chest and he chuckled. "My dad will ground me for forsaking his hard earn legacy behind."
"I can almost imagine that too." He kissed my forehead. "My parents anniversary is coming up soon."
"Really?" I love anniversaries. My parents just did theirs a few months ago in Norway. "I can't wait to attend."
He chuckled, "You and your crazy ways of going to parties. You still haven't gotten over those habits since college days, have you?" He pulled me up, making me sit on him like I was ready to ride a bike. He strokes the side of my face. "Well, I have a surprise for you on that day."
"Surprise?" I snort. "What other surprises have you got to show me more than the fun we had throughout this month?"
"Well…" he shrugged. "You'll see."
"Hmm…" I grinned mischievously. "I just can't wait for that anniversary party to come. I'm eager for the surprises, you know."
"Of course, I do." He sat up to kiss my lips and the rest of the moments are rated 18.
