POV: Ethan
I kept attacking Tiona for a while. My sword swung at high speed in every direction, but she blocked every strike. She did it so easily that it actually started to irritate me a little.
Damn it. I'm too weak.

I clicked my tongue and stopped attacking her.
"What's wrong? Got tired already?" Tiona asked, smiling at me in a teasing way.

"But how am I supposed to do that? Shouldn't you be showing me something different?"
I'd already tried copying a lot of moves I'd seen in anime, but it didn't go very well.
"How about I show you how I fight?"
"I already know how you fight. I could never use a double-bladed sword like yours."
"Have you even tried it before?"
"No."

A double-bladed sword like hers? Using that thing in battle must be insanely difficult.
"No, for now I'll stick with this one." I pointed at my single-handed sword. Its blade wasn't too short or too long — I think it's perfect for me.

Tiona shrugged and dropped to the ground. Seeing her sit, I sat down across from her.
"But you were doing well," she said. "Even though you kept trying the same things, you actually managed to surprise me."
"I tried using some moves I saw somewhere. But it's hard to copy them."
"Yeah, mimicking someone's moves isn't easy. But you shouldn't do that — you should create your own fighting style. It's more fun."
Tiona smiled brightly.
Create my own style? Me? A total beginner? Impossible.
"For now, let's just keep training like this. I feel like I'm improving."
I smiled at her.
"Alright, but just for another hour. After that, we'll eat something and rest, okay? It's our day off, after all — we need to relax!"
"Alright, alright." I got up and pointed my sword at her.
"Oooh, scary~" Tiona teased, pointing her sword back at me.
"This time, I'll fight back," she said.
"If you do that, I'll die."
"You won't die, don't worry~~"

After a few minutes of attacking Tiona, she finally fought back — just like she said.
When her sword swung toward me, I couldn't even follow her movement. The only thing I noticed was—
Her blade is heading straight for my neck.
I'm going to die if that hits me.
I tried to lift my sword to block hers, but then I felt something hit me square in the stomach.
The instant it connected, all the air in my lungs vanished. I nearly vomited as I was sent flying through the air and crashed onto my back. I just lay there, staring at the sky, gasping for breath.
Then Tiona appeared above me, smiling.
"Just one punch was enough to knock you down? You're so weak," she said mockingly.
Then she dropped her sword to the ground and stood over me.
She leaned down and sat on top of me, placing her hands beside my head as she looked into my eyes.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
Huff~ Huff~
Still struggling to breathe, I managed to say,
"I can barely breathe. Were you trying to kill me?"
"Huh? That punch wasn't even that strong."
I stared at her in disbelief. Not that strong? I really thought I was going to die!
Tiona and I kept staring at each other — then a system message suddenly appeared right in front of her face.

Seeing that message, I smiled.
