"Where did you get your dinner?"
Fresh out of the shower and wearing his grey pajamas , Albert entered the dorm and saw several of his roommates gathered around a table playing magic cards and eating freshly baked pies from a plate.
" The house elf brought them here."
George's mouth was full of food, so his words came out muffled.
Albert looked at the plate and saw a hand reaching for the last slice of cake. He immediately lunged forward and slapped the hand away.
A clear sound echoed through the room.
"Ah!"
Lee Jordan rubbed his reddened and swollen hand, glaring at Albert with a resentful expression.
"You haven't even left me the last slice!" Albert casually took the final piece of pie and took a bite. The meat filling was still warm and tasted quite good.
"You didn't need to be so harsh!"
"I didn't hold back in time. Besides, if you don't leave me a piece, who am I supposed to hit?" Albert ate his pie, then turned to the Weasley brothers, who were secretly giggling, and asked, "How many sets of magician cards have you put together?"
"Right now we can only do this one card at a time, so it's very slow. We spent so much time just trying to get ourselves a deck of cards," George shrugged helplessly, admitting he was doing his best.
" How did you convince the house elf to bring you dinner ?" Fred brought up another topic that interested him more.
"Personal attractiveness."
Albert finished the last bite of the pie and reached for a nearby napkin to wipe his mouth.
The three of them looked at each other, not believing a word of Albert's nonsense.
Albert didn't care whether they believed him or not. He looked around but couldn't see his cat, sohe asked, "Where's my Tom ? "
" Tom ? Oh, you mean the cat?" Fred said, pointing to the door. "He just darted out. He's probably still running around in the Gryffindor Common Room . "
"Frankly, it's getting late and he's still running around," Albert grumbled .
"You can't keep a cat in a confined space."
"I didn't say I wanted to restrict him."
Albert took his compass from his leather pouch, checked the direction, and thenwent down the stairs leading to the common room .
The common room was quite dim at the moment, with a few embers still gleaming in the fireplace.
" Tom."
Albert softly called his cat's name, but received no response. He glanced at the compass in his hand, then fixed his gaze in that direction, preparing to draw his wand to use the Accio spellto summon his cat back. Just then, a furry black shadow suddenly leaped at him from the corner.
"Let's go back to bed!" Albert bent down and picked up the fat cat. As the light from the tip of his wand inadvertently scanned the Common Room , Albert's eyes fell on the chair closest to the Common Room entrance .
Meanwhile, the [Mimi Reading app] is really good and worth downloading! It even supports Android and Apple phones!
Albert noticed someone sitting there, so he went over with the cat. It was a young girl wearing a pink nightgown.
"Don't sleep here, you'll catch a cold, Miss Granger ."
Hermione heard the sound and looked up in surprise, becoming somewhat alarmed when she saw Albert .
Albert looked at the young girl opposite him. It was the first time he had examined the legendary Hermione Granger so carefully. She was very ordinary, not much different from the girl next door.
"You didn't fight with your roommates, did you?"
"No!" Hermione said sharply.
"Then go back and rest!" Albert glanced at the nearby oil lamp and said calmly, "Don't hide here and scare people, or are you planning on going for a night stroll?"
"NO."
Hermione smelled a faint scent of shower gel on Albert and felt a little embarrassed. Fortunately, the surrounding darkness concealed any changes in the girl's expression. After a moment of hesitation, she told Albert what she had heard about Harry and Ron planning to duel Malfoy .
"That's very fitting for Gryffindor's character." Albert pulled up a chair and sat down next to Hermione , taking Tom onto his lap and stroking him. "So, you want to stop them."
"Yes, they're lurking around the school at night. How many points will Gryffindor lose if they get caught? And I think they'll definitely get caught by Filch . I heard the school caretaker (Mr.) knows all the secret passages in the school."
"I'm sure they'll tell you, 'This has nothing to do with you.'" Albert watched the changes in the girl's expression, shook his head, and added, "Don't worry too much. Gryffindor students are always like that; they never take school rules seriously."
Hermione opened her mouth, staring blankly at the boy who was smiling slightly. Finally, she asked, bewildered, "Shouldn't we stop them?"
"Stopping them? It's very difficult to stop them, unless you're Professor McGonagall , which you clearly aren't." Albert shook his head, "Don't expect to persuade anyone with words; it's very difficult, especially when they're determined to do something."
Hermione was about to say something else when Albert raised his hand and interrupted her.
"I know what you mean," Albert continued , "This so-called duel will probably be a trap. In Slytherin's style, they'll probably tip Filch off beforehand so the Caretaker (Mr.) can catch them. Then Gryffindor will lose points and Harry and Ron will be punished."
"However, Gryffindor's style is often to act without thinking . Sometimes, they never learn their lessons until they suffer a little," Albert said calmly. "Don't pay too much attention to these rules and regulations. Nobody in Gryffindor really cares about points, otherwise they would actively collect points for house, but most students don't have that kind of mentality."
"Is this really Gryffindor style?" Hermione asked seriously, looking at Albert . "And you? I heard you're always collecting points for Gryffindor !"
"This is just a byproduct. If I can earn points, great; if not, that's okay too."
"I don't think you look like a Gryffindor at all ," Hermione said softly. " The Sorting Hat must have asked you if you wanted to go to Ravenclaw !"
"Everyone says that. Many people think I should go to Ravenclaw ." Albert didn't care at all. "But Gryffindor is better for me . I have friends I know here."
"So what do you think I should do?" Hermione asked hesitantly.
"Go back to sleep, or keep trying to keep Harry and Ron here." Albert stood up and said to Hermione , "To be honest, you might not be very well-suited to Gryffindor . If you have the time, you could try joining the Wizarding Card Club . Maybe it will help you make friends. The point of games is to create happy times."
Hermione opened her mouth, watched Albert's back retreat into the distance, and ultimately said nothing.
Friends?
He didn't have a single one!
Albert had clearly noticed this, which is why he said so.
