"I got a night market ticket from the apartment manager as a gift for new residents in this neighborhood. So, do you have time to come along?" Ruby told Jay about the invitation to go to the night market, but what confused Jay was why it was happening during the day.
"Of course I want to, but Ruby, do you realize that the night market is at night, so why are we going during the day?" As if to ask about what had woken him, Jay then asked Ruby a question.
"Ahhh, you're right… how could I forget!!! Sorry, Jay, I seem to have gotten carried away, then let's meet again in the evening.
And we'll go there at 8 PM, how about that?" Ruby spoke quickly and looked embarrassed.
"Okay, I'll pick you up tonight at 8 PM." Jay then agreed and decided to return.
He still had two important things to do: exchange the gold ring he found and report information about the fugitive to the police.
#####
At a seemingly well-known gold shop, Jay saw several customers busy buying and selling gold. After observing the shop for a while, Jay decided it was quite good, so he decided to sell it.
"Hello, sir, good afternoon. How may I help you?" A young, ordinary-looking saleswoman greeted Jay politely.
"Do you accept gold sales without a certificate?" Jay asked.
Since he didn't have a valid proof of purchase to sell the gold, he asked.
Some shops accept it, while others refuse due to the risks.
"Of course we accept it, sir, but there are a few conditions you must fulfill to be able to sell the gold," the clerk replied in a friendly tone.
"Okay, please tell me," Jay replied again.
"Okay, please follow me, sir." The clerk then led Jay to a special room for transactions.
Please wait a moment, sir. Our appraiser will be with you shortly.
Shortly, an attractive, mature woman emerged from the shop, wearing office attire that looked appropriate and attractive.
"Hello, sir, let me introduce myself. I'm Cherly, and I'm the shop's appraiser. I heard you're looking to sell some special gold. Is that true?" asked the mature woman, who turned out to be the store manager.
"Yes, that's right. I inherited a 24-karat gold ring weighing 10 grams from my parents, but it's been a long time since I can't find the receipt," Jay replied, making an excuse.
"If that's the case, may I see your gold first?" asked Cherly again.
Jay then took the gold out of a ring case, which looked quite good.
After checking it with a tool and confirming it was genuine and the gold content matched Jay's description, Cherly spoke again.
"Sir, your gold ring is genuine and matches the weight you stated, 10 grams. Now, would you like to sell it to our shop?" Cherly asked again.
"Yes, I will sell it," Jay replied immediately.
"Then, sir, please fill out this sales contract, stating that the gold you obtained is not of illegal origin, and then you can proceed with the purchase," Cherly replied again.
Jay signed it without hesitation, as he had obtained it through legitimate means; he could simply say he had simply picked it up.
After signing the contract, Cherly then informed Jay:
"The original selling price per gram of 24-karat gold is now $2,130, but since you don't have valid proof of purchase, the shop's offer is $2,000 per gram. With a transaction of 10 grams, you will receive $20,000.
Are you willing to sell it?" Cherly asked again.
"Okay, I agree," Jay replied immediately, eager to complete the transaction.
"Okay, sir, please wait a moment," Cherly replied again.

After completing the gold sale, Jay returned to the food court area at Blue Lake, where he was to report the news of the wanted fugitive.
As for why he didn't do it when he was with Ruby in the morning, it was for her safety and his own.
Jay certainly wouldn't be foolish enough to put a woman he knew in a dangerous situation just for the sake of profit.
So, in this case, Jay was simply waiting for the right moment to act, and this afternoon seemed to be the perfect time.
Observing his target, Jay noticed that the fugitive, disguised as a snack vendor, was currently chatting quite cheerfully with several other food vendors.
From his humorous demeanor and pleasant face, no one would guess he was a wanted fugitive.
"Tut….tuttt"
"Good afternoon, Blue Lake District Police Station. How may I help you?" asked a police officer acting as an operator.
"Hello, I am…and I have found the fugitive on the list…" Jay explained briefly.
"Wait a moment, sir, could you please leave your phone number and home address. This is necessary for identity verification," the operator replied, ensuring the information was accurate and not a lie.
"Okay, I am…and my home….as for my phone number…" Jay finished providing his information.
"Thank you, sir, for your assistance. The police will act immediately, and please ensure your safety. The reward offered will be given to you after the arrest is complete," the operator replied.
"Okay, thank you." Jay hung up the phone and patiently waited in a safe place.
He wanted to see how the police would react and act after he reported the news.
After waiting for about 10 minutes, Jay began to be skeptical about the police's actions.
"Why haven't the police cars arrived yet? Hasn't it been 10 minutes already!!! What a long response time! Can't the police act like they do in the movies!!" He complained about the delay.
But what Jay didn't expect was that just as he was complaining, a commotion broke out around the fugitive he saw.
At this moment, two young men who appeared to be in their late 20s were seen arguing with the fugitive.
"Uncle, you're not being honest...this food is expired!!!" One young man complained to the disguised fugitive.
"Hey...young man, don't just talk nonsense...I sell decent food!!" The fugitive, dissatisfied, defended himself.
"But this is no longer tasty. This only shows that the food you sell is no longer fit for purpose." the young man replied again.
"Impossible, you're just slandering me!!" the fugitive replied again.
"If you don't believe me, try it yourself!!" He held out the snack he was holding.
"Let me see!!" The fugitive angrily snatched the food from the young man's hand.
But what no one expected was that when the fugitive reached out, the young man, who had previously complained, locked his hand and then twisted it.
He swiftly threw the fugitive to the floor.
Seeing this, everyone watching was shocked and in disbelief, wondering why the scene they were watching had turned violent.
Just as they were confused, another young man immediately pinned the fugitive down and shouted, "Shut up!!! We're the police, and you're under arrest!!!" The young man let out a loud, powerful voice. Especially after seeing the handcuffs on the fugitive's hands, everyone realized that this was a police arrest.
"Ehhh… this is incredible!!!" Jay said with a shocked and disbelieving expression when he saw all of these things in person.
