Chapter 10 - Die, you creaturess!

I was charging at full speed when Desan turned to me, lifted his hand, and froze me mid‑air.

"Oh, it's you," he said coldly. "Since you didn't die, I'll make sure you do no—"

"You will do no such thing!" Ozem yelled.

Seriously, he talks too much now. It's annoying.

Before he could finish his stupid monologue, Ozem and his copies lunged at him. The sudden impact sent me flying backward, slamming into the ground.

Ozem gritted his teeth, struggling to keep Desan pinned. "Senanli, do something!" he shouted.

I raised my hand and summoned a bubble made of the same energy as my forcefield. "Ozem, move, now!" I warned.

He leapt aside just in time. The bubble sealed Desan to the ground.

"Thank God," I breathed. "At least it's finally over. He's—"

CRACK!

"—contained…" I muttered weakly, my voice falling flat.

And then — horror.

"OZEM!! ARE YOU GENUINELY STUPID OR JUST FINALLY MAD? WHY WOULD YOU KILL HIM? IS THIS WHAT HAPPENED TO AMASA?! ANSWER ME! DON'T JUST SMILE!" I screamed.

Ozem was gone too. He just killed him the same way with Atarah and probably Amasa and Eleasah.

"I am not mad! I'm human, just like you! Why can't you see that? Humans have goals — I have a goal! That's what makes me human!"

What was he even saying? So having a goal makes you human now? He's cray‑cray.

I was so distracted by his nonsense that my forcefield flickered. That was all he needed.

Desan burst free, pouncing on me and screaming with rage "Die! You creaturess — just die!"

I shoved him off instinctively, my strength flaring. He flew backward, crashing hard and hitting his head.

"Are you serious right now?" I shouted. "I should die? After everything? You are such an ingrate!"

I lunged at him, fury consuming me. My punches and kicks came from every direction, embroidering him.

"You were one of the strongest among us! We believed in you! Why couldn't you just hold on? Why couldn't you wait? One day it would've ended! Now, you've made it all worse. What do you think other people will call you now? Ya think they'll praise yu and give you a prize or somethin-" I stopped mid sentence and looked at his face.

He was smiling.

Actually, laughing.

Wildly.

My chest tightened. Something was wrong. I felt languid.

He shoved me off easily, stood up, and brushed the dust from his clothes like this was all a casual argument.

"Other people won't talk about me," he said, his grin cold and proud. "Wanna know why? Because there'll be no one left to talk. When I'm through with you, no one will have the guts — and if they do, I'll rip those guts out and shove them down their throats."

He tossed something to the ground — a small glass vial.

My heart stopped.

It was Amasa's toxin. A contact poison, silent but deadly kind of style.

No… she must have made it for him, not me. She couldn't have meant it for me.

But my body was already trembling, power fading fast.

Desan started talking again; some dummy‑ass speech about destiny, pain, and how misunderstood he was.

Like bro, this isn't Demon Slayer. We don't need a tragic backstory every five seconds!

I wasn't going to die like this.

Not without..

HIM DYING FIRST.

I raised my trembling hand and fired a beam straight through his head.

Bullseye.

Okay, maybe that was intense. But he deserved it.

He should've fallen. But he didn't.

Instead, he smiled wider as his body began to crumble into dust.

No. No, no, no — we both knew what that meant.

Reincarnation.

When a Queneer dies before their destined time, their essence resets — reborn somewhere, somehow.

"Why, universe?! Just let him go! He'll only cause more chaos! Why can't this end?!" I screamed.

Desan's fading voice echoed softly, almost tender.

"I'll probably see you soon, Senanli. Till then…"

And he was gone.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WHY?! WHY? WHY? WHY?!" I shrieked until my throat burned.

Damn the universe.

Damn reincarnation.

Damn it all.

Then it hit me.

The Chanclin.

"Yes… I can use it. I can still reach him," I whispered, hope flickering.

"Oh, Boundless Destination," I prayed, trembling. "I need you more than ever. Please — don't mess up now. Take me to wherever Desan is. Whatever time, whatever place. Please."

I drew the infinity sign. Light engulfed me.

And I vanished.

This isn't how it ends.

I'll be back too. In a new body, with a new purpose.

My good will defeat your evil.

Just wait.

Till then.
