I turned the shower on and leaned my hands against the wall.
The water hadn't even gotten warm before my knees gave out. I was tired, exhausted and completely out of it.
I slid down slowly until I was sitting on the bathroom floor, my back against the tiles, the sound of the water the only sound that filled the air. I didn't deserve to escape from all the chaos I'd caused these past few months. My chest felt heavy.
My throat was literally burning. I pressed my palm over my mouth, but it didn't help.
I hated myself.
I hated the way I'd been treating Serena. I hated the look on her face downstairs.
The exhaustion in her eyes. The quiet disappointment she was trying so hard not to show. That look finally broke something in me tonight. I was evil, a fucking monster.
