Looking at the figure of Unohana Yachiro in front of him, Dylan felt like he was standing in front of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen but at the same time the most dangerous because although she was smiling serenely and gently, the aura around her felt so sharp like the edge of a sword ready to cut anything near her.
Gulp!
Dylan gulped hard as he looked at her, her voice was the same voice of the demoness who gave him those old books to learn swordsmanship and advance further in his sword practice till he reached the bottleneck.
"Fufufu~ how do I look, dear Dylan~?" She said in a sensual alluring voice that made Dylan feel like it was playing with his heart, especially when hearing her voice with his ears.
Everything around her screamed with allure and beauty.
"Y-You look amazing." He said with a slight stutter in his voice making him quite embarrassed as he never dealt with a woman before.
"Don't be nervous and calm down~" she said making him nod and take a deep breath and slowly calm down.
She saw this and nodded inwardly before suddenly her smile faded and was replaced with a cold and sharp expression that made Dylan feel shiver running down his spine.
'Fuck, I seem to forget who she was, she was Unohana Yachiro, a person that deemed to be the Strongest female shinigami in soul society and the second strongest after Yamamoto, damn it, how I messed this.' Dylan cursed inwardly as he looked at the now dangerous cold mature beauty in front of him.
"Are you done?" Unohana said with a cold voice that seemed to freeze Dylan who had cold sweat running down his back.
"..." He didn't utter a word and just nodded slightly.
"Now, after reaching the bottleneck, you lack one thing to breakthrough, which is—"
"A fight to death." She said with a small smile on her face that made Dylan feel his hair standing straight as he felt danger coming from that smile.
Then it struck him, from reading several fanfics and watching the anime, he knew one thing about Unohana's past which was that she was looking for someone who could put a challenge to her and give her the desire to advance further, it turned from a desire to an obsession.
And that obsession increased with time until it became too much that it turned dark, she wanted a fight that could give her the feeling of danger, a fight that could make her carve more, want more bloodshed.
Simply, a fight of blood and death.
Now hearing her saying that, Dylan felt that his life had come to an end.
'Hope I'm just imagining things.' he thought.
Then in front of him, a long katana appeared in Unohana's delicate white hands as she gripped it.
Seeing her holding the katana along with that small smile on her face, she looked like death itself was standing in front of him making him shiver but then remembering his original goal and the things he had been through till this point, Dylan took another deep breath before with a thought a black long katana appeared in his hands.
Seeing this, Unohana's smile widened before she suddenly disappeared from her place as if she teleported.
Seeing this Dylan immediately felt death a mere inches from him making him dash forward right away.
Swiish!
BAAAM!
Looking back at the spot where he was standing, he saw a deep small trench on the rocky ground, then his gaze moved up to the person who caused this and saw Unohana looking at him with a small serene smile.
Gulp!
'That slash right now could have cut me into two granting me a super vip ticket to the afterlife without knowing how. And I doubt I could defend against it. Damn.' Dylan thought as sweat was sliding on his forehead and cheeks.
"Are you considering giving up already?" She said while tilting her head as she looked at him as if she was reading a book.
"That's a shame if you are already considering it." Hearing this, Dylan felt his pride hurt which made him grit his teeth and his grip on the sword handle tightened.
He took a deep breath while he looked at Unohana with a deep furrowed eyebrows as his eyes gleamed with deep resolve and seriousness.
She really hit a nerve on him, he didn't know why but he felt humiliated when he heard her saying that accompanied by her disappointed expression.
He felt as if his pride was hurt and he couldn't let it like that, this was unacceptable.
Seeing this Unohana didn't say anything more and just stood there for few moments before she moved with blinding speed.
With such a speed that Dylan hadn't seen before, he would find it difficult to see and counter her attack, but somehow he felt calm and then—
CLANG!
Two swords met each other.
Unohana raised her eyebrows slightly before a slightly wide smile spread across her beautiful face, then without a word, she moved and attacked again.
But—
CLANG!
She didn't stop and attacked continuously while Dylan defended and blocked her attacks while at the same time tried to counter but as if seeing through him, she prevented him from attacking.
But Dylan didn't give up and continued while his eyes were moving with incredible speed, tracing every slash she was making, calculating the trajectory of her sword and where the attack would struck.
The process happened in a matter of moments in his brain as everything he saw was transferred to his brain for immediate processing.
The fight continued as the two of them displayed a very beautiful and mesmerizing yet deadly dance of swords and sparks.
With each slash and attack, the surroundings were affected with cuts everywhere and as the fight continued, Unohana's smile widened even more before she increased the speed of her attacks while at same time made it difficult for him to defend as she attacked from impossible angles.
But Dylan with his strengthened body and heightened senses managed to dodge before he moved back away from her attack range.
"Huff...Huff..."
He was breathing heavily and sweating so much that his clothes felt sticky and yes he hadn't bathed or changed clothes for a long time.
Anyway, as he steadied his breath and focused, he realized something.
He felt like he had broken through a wall that was standing in front of him, that slight exchange that didn't last for a whole 5 minutes helped him so much.
'How?' he thought.
"Surprised?" She suddenly said snapping him out of his trance.
He looked at her and nodded.
"That's to be expected because no matter how much power you have, you will only advance further and get stronger in a fight where you put your life on the line, either die or survive and become stronger." Shee said with the most gentle voice he had ever heard.
He now understood why she said a fight to death at the beginning. Once you felt death near, you would try to use everything in your power to escape it which would stimulate the body to break its limits to survive.
"But that's not enough. At least you have to leave a wound on my body." Sunday Unohana said snapping him out of his state.
"I'm not letting you go, at least not for now~" she said with a serene smile before she disappeared from her place and suddenly appeared behind Dylan with her sword already mere inches from cutting his body into two at the same time she released her killing intent that was so heavy making everything around turn into a sea of blood.
This was—
DEATH!
