Chapter 207 - Find Lana

Caser sprung into action. He grew a bit and grabbed Fiza with his tentacles. Then he did the same with Biff and Duff. They were running back toward the entrance before 30 seconds ticked by. This was the first test for Caser's king-tier body and he liked it. He could feel the surge in energy as he told his body to move at top speed.

Lana and Sil had a brief conflict. He wanted to grab her and run so she wouldn't get hurt and he didn't feel he had the abilities to kill a demon-tier. Lana simply held his hand and took flight to distract the beast while Caser got her friends out of the area.

"Lana, what the hell!" Sil tried to stop her but he felt his feet leave the ground and decided it was best to hold on.

Being the beast was humanoid with hair that looked like living green snakes, "what do we have here?" she asked.

"I was going to ask you the same thing. What are you and why is there a human," the beast spat the word, "clinging to your leg?"

"He is my husband. Who else would he cling to?" she replied with a smirk.

"Why would anyone marry such a… filthy… creature?"

"Oh, trust me. He's only filthy when I want him to be," she chuckled.

They are a safe distance away now, Lana.

Good. Desummon.

"I do not understand," the beast said with a face full of confusion.

"I didn't expect you to. Since you seem a bit chatty, do you recognize this sword?" Lana drew her mother's sword and presented it to the beast without getting too close.

The beast paused for a moment, "the Plantwell's weapon…" The beast let out a scream that hurt their ears tremendously. Lana almost dropped Sil but was able to get him down near the opening the beast used. She pointed at it and closed her fist to tell him to seal it. He nodded but they were both clearly in pain.

Sil flattened his body against the wall to see if it was safe and when it was, he got to work.

Lana steeled her nerves and took flight once again. As she did so, she blooded her sword. She knew this was going to be tough but she also had things she wanted to try. She was quite curious about what she could do if she was properly challenged. She had a feeling she could end this all right now by using her soul weapon. She didn't want to do that. Instead, she swung for a clawed hand that was swung her direction. While there was resistance, the sword removed the hand from the arm. Lana wondered what kind of beast or enemy this sword was designed for.

"Who killed the Plantwell?" It screamed, "answer me, fly!"

Lana was truly confused. Was this beast upset her mother was dead? "What do you care?" as she took another swing, this time aiming toward the chest. The sword went in as the other arm was too slow. Lana folded her wings and was prepared to ride the sword down as she had done before but she got too cocky. She was even facing the wrong direction and didn't see the hand that wrapped around her and squeezed.

"The Plantwell had many enemies." Lana could smell the black blood flowing from the wound she had inflicted. It wasn't fatal yet but that volume of blood very much could be. The question Lana had was most high-level beasts could regenerate. Could this medusa regenerate as well?

Lana wanted to scream in pain but bit her tongue to fight that urge. Her arm was not wrapped up in the hand so she extended it, called out her soul weapon, the one she used before, and aimed it at the wound she had already created. She wasn't far away from it and was a bit concerned. At the moment, she felt it was this or death.

Lana told herself it would work then let the weapon fly. The weapon entered the wound and split. The upper body of the beast was shredded with bits falling all over, some even hitting Sil as he quickly sealed the opening.

The force of the blow caused Lana to go flying back and hit the wall with the hand still attached. She was knocked out.

--------------------------------------------

Sil quickly got to work filling in the wall. He didn't like it but he also didn't want another beast in here threatening his wife. He felt the faster he got it done, the faster he could help her. She was able to fly, after all. He hoped that would keep her safe.

He heard the beast speaking in a high-picked voice that hurt his ears. He heard something hit the floor off to his left but he kept working. Just as he sealed the hole, he was slammed into his newly-created wall as the body of the medusa slammed into him. Fortunately, he didn't hit his head. He was also very close to the wall because he wanted as little distance as possible so the job would get done faster.

The body of the gorgon-like beast fell to the side. Sil had trouble moving, however, because her body was long and thick. He couldn't hear anything and didn't know if it was from the screams negatively impacting him or if something went wrong.

"Lana?"

He twisted his body around. His body was soaked in beast blood but he paid it no attention. He didn't see his wife and couldn't hear her voice either. Panic started to set in.

"Lana?" he said louder.

He waited a few moments then panic did set in. "Lana!!!!" he screamed.

Sil heard a roar coming toward him from the way Caser had gone. He readied himself just in case but hoped it was their feline friend.

A few breaths later, Caser came skidding to a halt and tripped over the tail of medusa sending Dobin flying up but Caser reacted fast enough to tighten his hold with his tentacles. He had heard Sil's panicked call for Lana so he panicked as well.

"Caser! Find Lana!" Sil desperately called.
