Sandy, who had been kicked into the sea, climbed back onto the Merry Go and saw Luffy and the others fooling around. He was completely baffled.
Sandy said with a dead-fish stare, "Usopp, Sanji… you guys are really brave."
Nami rolled her eyes. "Stop messing around—hey, Luffy!"
"Chopper, Chopper…" Luffy was imitating Chopper.
And Chopper was giggling like a little idiot.
Nami's eyebrows twitched a few times before—Duang!
"I'm telling you guys!!" Nami shouted angrily.
"Stop playing around! Do you all have zero sense of crisis?! That Marine Admiral from earlier defeated the three of you instantly! And the Log Pose needs a full day to set—shouldn't we be preparing food!?"
Luffy scratched his cheek and laughed. "Relax, Nami. I'll totally beat him one day! But yeah… that guy was super strong."
Sandy nodded. "Exactly. Even though I was going toe-to-toe with him just now, he wasn't even using his real strength."
The moment Usopp heard this, he panicked. "Guys… will we meet more monsters like him in the future? Impossible! No way! How do we beat people like that!?"
Zoro patted him on the shoulder. "Usopp, you're exhausted."
Sandy smirked. "Hey, Usopp, don't mentally collapse now. Aren't you going to become a brave warrior of the sea?"
"But!!" Usopp trembled at the memory of Aokiji freezing an entire ocean like it was nothing. How powerful was that!?
Sandy let Usopp sit down and said, "You're not dueling him, idiot. Luffy—say something."
"Huh?" Luffy blinked. "Say what? What we're eating later? Barbecue? Sanji's barbecue is the best! And some ice-cold beer—"
"EAT WHAT!?" Sandy snapped. "You're the Captain! How do you only think about eating?!"
"Oh." Luffy blinked. "Then… what should I say?"
Sandy rubbed his temples. "As Captain, you should let everyone know we're a team.
Usopp is our sniper. A sniper finds his position and delivers the killing blow. So, Usopp—find your position. Understand?"
Usopp suddenly froze. Then realization struck.
"That's right! YES! I AM the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates! Leave all sniper duties to me! Hahaha!"
Nami's face darkened. "That was too fast…"
Chopper suddenly slapped his hooves together. "Then I'm the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates! Don't worry everyone—if anyone gets hurt, leave it to me! Hehehe!"
Zoro then heavily patted Sanji's shoulder. "You hear that? Perverted cook. Make food properly from now on."
"Colosse!!" Sanji's eyes burst into flames. "I'm gonna kick your moss-covered ass to death!"
"What was that, bastard!?" Zoro roared back.
Bang! Bang!
A simple discussion immediately turned into a fight.
Luffy's eyes sparkled. "Go Zoro!! Go Sanji!!"
At that moment, Sandy fully understood why Nami hits people.
DUANG! DUANG! DUANG!
This time, it was Sandy who smacked the three idiots.
"Ouch…" Luffy groaned. "Okay okay, just say what you want to say! Why'd you hit me!?"
Sandy froze.
"…What… was I saying?"
Everyone stared at him.
Robin smiled softly. "Everyone finding their role. We're a team."
"Ah! Right! Hahaha!" Luffy nodded quickly. "That's what I meant too! I should tell Zoro and Sanji to listen properly—"
BANG! BANG!
"Shut up, Straw Hat! You're the LAST person who can say that!"
"You're the most chaotic one here!"
Luffy bowed his head. "…Sorry everyone."
Well, what was the point of the meeting? As long as they all understood their roles, Sandy had already achieved his goal.
Soon after, the crew returned to Cocoyasi Village and had a bonfire party. Their earlier struggle against Aokiji was instantly forgotten.
After resting for a day, the Log Pose filled, and the Merry Go once again set sail—destination: Water 7.
Sandy lay in his usual spot, daydreaming.
Meanwhile, Sanji and Zoro were arguing again—as if their souls were just incompatible.
Sanji snapped, "How long are you gonna sleep, mosshead?"
Zoro replied lazily, "That's my freedom. Wanna fight about it?"
"That's enough!" Nami yelled. "Sanji, the Captain is hungry!"
"Yes, ma'am!!" Sanji saluted dramatically. "Right away, Miss Nami!"
Somewhere on deck, Luffy shouted, "Sanji! Potato chips! POTATO CHIPSSS!!"
As Sanji left, Zoro immediately sat down and resumed snoring.
Nami stared at both Zoro and Sandy sleeping like rocks. "You two are hopeless!"
Especially Sandy—curled up like a baby, sleeping peacefully.
Nami flicked his forehead. "Stop sleeping!!"
Soon after, Sandy and Zoro—both with fresh bumps on their heads—joined the others for snacks.
"These potato chips are amazing!" Luffy cheered.
Chopper asked, "What are potato chips?"
Usopp proudly said, "Potato chips come from the tail meat of a Sea Beast Potato! I killed it myself! It was a hundred meters long!"
Chopper gasped. "A hundred meters!? You're incredible, Usopp!"
"Of course," Usopp said smugly.
Sandy took a chip and muttered, "Did you kill it before or after breakfast?"
"Obviously this morning," Usopp said with confidence.
Sandy sighed. This guy…
Suddenly—
"LOOK!!" Luffy yelled. "WHAT'S THAT!? A frog doing freestyle swimming!?"
Zoro almost choked. "What the hell…?"
"CHASE IT!!" Luffy shouted. "Everyone! Get the oars!!"
"WHOOAA!!" everyone shouted.
Sandy stared at the frog freestyle swimming.
Then—
He stripped his shirt off and dived into the water.
Everyone: "???"
A moment later, they understood.
He was racing the frog.
"…." Nami and Robin both facepalmed.
Meanwhile, Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp rowed like maniacs.
"GO SANDY!! GO SANDY!!"
Sandy flashed them a confident grin. "Of course! I WON'T LOSE TO A FROG!!"
The giant frog glanced at the human racing beside it—looked confused for a second—and then challenged him back.
And so, the frog and the madman began an intense freestyle showdown…
