Dennis fought effortlessly. When he charged, his headset mapped out the targets and equipped him of weapons most suited in this combative scenario. The bandit soldiers rushed at him in groves and so, his off hands generated katanas. Like a windmill, he spun around, cutting the first lot of bandits that dared enter his presence. He sprinted again, all the more using the katanas to swiftly, and at quick succession, to cut, stab, and injure the soldiers. Archers showed up - right katana de-materialized and re-materialized - a gun shaped into his gauntlet. He swung his hand like wrecking ball, taking out the enemies while he moved around at a distance.
Proving too much for the bandits, they stepped back and were shocked to move. Their only motivation was when the giant entered the fight, and thus they roared again. "Yeah, get him!" One bandit shouted.
Standing at a whopping 10 feet in height, the giant had the size of a dumping truck and weilded a wooden club as big as a tree in its left hand.
'Aren't you a big fella?' Dennis thought as he marvelled at the outstanding size of the giant. It made him look like a toy in a kids sand pit. And the appearance, red skin, white beard, red eyes, and jagged lower jaw, the giant is just about as monsterous as it gets. It doesn't even have clothing fits wrapped around it but a rougher and brittle fur acted as pants. His bare body - built like a Greek God- chest, legs, and arms looked immensely brutal.
Fuming with an intent to act-an intent to kill-the red giant was at it's limit. Certain doom was what the bandits thought.
Grrrrhhhhhaaaaa!-the red giant roared.
There was no taunting, no monologue. Just action. The giant immediately raised the club and brought it down at it's target.
Impact!-The club brought upon it to the ground, a crater. And within that short time frame, Dennis had already aligned the trajectory of the club's landing and backed away just in time.
With another roar, the giant brought the club up again though slow because of the weight of it. When it did, the red giant was unaware, that Dennis had a plan; he used it as a chance to react and move. Running towards the red giant and slided under him.
When the giant finally picked up the club, Dennis was nowhere to he seen. The red giant looked around aimlessly, likely confused as to where the puny man had gone off to.
"His on top of you!" One bandit shouted. To the red giant's surprise, he was still with him.....just not at ground level. Dennis was at the top of his back.
Eyes wide open, the red giant was Enraged, and moved in a friendzy state. Trying to shake Dennis; trying to get him off his back-but that he wouldn't budge. He lodged himself to his nape and stayed their for a few seconds before, finally, he jumped off the red giant and the landed on the ground again. "Gotchaya!" Dennis said right away.
Boooommmm!—the bomb planted on the nape before his jump went off.
Just like that in under a minute, the red giant's head completely blew up as it fell to its knees and collapsed to the ground, lying dead, a pool of blood formed, and the burnt flesh led a misty smoke trailing to the air.
Still, this did not stop the bandits attack (and although some were afraid to even stoop closer) most of the soldiers knew they had the numbers and not many taken out they can win for sure. Other red giants emerged from the front—all-all the same as the first—and came for Dennis.
'Seems you guys won't fall that easy,' he thought as the overwhelming force came for him.
~~~~~~
Most of the bandit soldiers concentrated at Dennis's position, but few had come after Aelira and the younglings. Because Dennis had to put himself in the middle of the fight, risking his self for the whole army, he did so that the elves might not get treated more severely as he was handling the forces.
Four men left. They were the only ones facing against Aelira. With each of attacking Aelira randomly; Aelira had knocked them out cold. One to the stomach, one with a broken arm and fainted, and two to the head.
"Stay here. Look after the younglings, our sisters should arrive soon," She told one of the female adult and gave her a spear. The female nodded and took hold.
"Where are you going?!" Seris called out.
Aelira didn't answer. She walked off. She looked at the battle that ensued as the bandit forces surrounded Dennis, or as she thought of: her enemy.
Why are fighting for us?! She thought. What are you up to?!
~~~~~~
The forces surrounded Dennis, circling him with no route of escape. He was still fighting though, but too many, he didn't keep track. Dennis's adaptive suit was also running out of materials. He was done to 30%, so his guns recalibrated back into swords. He fought and defended.....but just as he was about to be fully swarmed—Aelira stepped inside the circle, back-to-back against Dennis, and she cast a fire spell that she discharged from her hand. With a flick of her fingers, she engulfed half of the surrounding area in flames. Pppfffff!—the flames instantaneously and spontaneously appeared out of thin air.
Ahhhhhhh! The bandits screamed in agony.
"Don't think I've forgotten our battle earlier. I'm doing only that my people are secured, understand," Aelira said , speaking behind her back.
By her logic, Dennis replied, "So we have a truce."
"For now," she said.
Yet, Dennis knew this to be false but wanted to stay clear for the moment. Dennis looked at the agonising bandits and compared himself. If he were to act against her now, he would surely be set on fire just as the soldiers fell and stood no more.
But then the fire slowly hissed.
Clouds had formed in the air and a rush of water poured down.
'That's new!' Dennis thought.
Though it wasn't naturally rainy during the day, this sort of phenomenon had to come from a source. This—Aelira—pointed out.
"A Dark Mage!" She exclaimed. "Watch out for their magic...although they excel in light, they are most proficient in the arts of darkness. Be careful!" She warned.
'This Mage, huh, looks different than the other bandits....?' Dennis thought. He set his sights the same as that of Aelira and took a glance. A dark purplish robe and a feeling of dread, the dark mage that summoned the partial weather focused every might into the spell. Aelira spoke.
"On my signal," she said and Dennis understood.
When the fire vanished and the weather disappearing, the remaining forces were now up to their strengths—Aelira shouted. "Go!"
