At noon, the sun hung high in the blue sky like a fiery ball.
Outside Themyscira, on a giant cruise ship returning from a five-day sea tour, a stunning beauty in a white, one-shoulder, high-slit dress and a young man, back in his modern uniform, returned to one side of the third deck, unnoticed by the other tourists.
"Aunt Diana, I'm sorry, I messed up…" Vincent drooped his ears like a small emperor. He had seen the Amazon Queen's pale, displeased face that morning.
After all, that was the most severe loss Themyscira had experienced in a thousand years!
"Just be more careful next time." Diana didn't scold him but said softly.
"Next time for sure! But will I even have a next time?" Vincent's mouth twitched, and his mind replayed Antiope's barely concealed anger, and the stunned expressions of the female warriors and civilians.
If he went back to Themyscira, would he be ganged up on?
"Of course not." Diana smiled slightly, looking at a distant sea area, and whispered, "They actually already accept you and would very much welcome your next visit. Later, I'll take you to the palace to meet Mother."
Vincent looked at Aunt Diana's profile, and his heart, against his will, began to thump again.
Aunt Diana was already beautiful, but when she smiled, she was even more captivating.
The alluring curve of her lips made Vincent recall the unspeakable scene from last night… An electric warmth spread from his lips, slowly radiating and quickly engulfing every part of his body.
A light kiss, stepping into the extraordinary.
Vincent, in his demigod mode, opened his silver eyes wide, looking at Wonder Woman, whose face was calm and natural.
"This will be the reward for not hugging tonight." Raising her head slightly, Wonder Woman's somewhat unsteady voice betrayed that she wasn't as calm as she appeared on the surface. It was as if she was speaking to herself: "However, this is also to allow you to inherit my power. Yes, that's all."
Whether it was self-deception or not, it was ultimately a fitting reason.
A legitimate reason to momentarily cross that boundary with a clear conscience at that moment.
"So that's how it is…" Vincent muttered to himself, his divine silver eyes concealing his fervent inner emotions.
He suddenly said, "It's not enough."
"What?" Wonder Woman was startled, looking at Vincent in confusion.
"The medium, it's not enough." Vincent was extremely calm. He suddenly stood on his tiptoes and captured the soft warmth that had parted due to her surprise.
"Is that so? The medium isn't enough, it can't be helped."
Wonder Woman's eyes were equally calm. She exhaled a little helplessly, then lowered her head without resistance, offering something even softer and sweeter.
The bright silver moonlight fell into the main hall. On the stone altar, the mother box, silent for a thousand years, remained still… Returning to Washington.
After tidying up the house, Diana went to work.
Actually, Diana's job had to change every few years. In the past, Vincent didn't understand why, but now he fully comprehended that with Aunt Diana's eternal youth, if she stayed in one place for several years, even with divine magic concealment, her unusual nature might be exposed.
Fortunately, with Diana's excellent qualifications, she had no trouble finding work. Currently, she seemed to be a shareholder in a famous local private law firm in Washington.
After Vincent showered at home, he finally turned on his phone, which had been off for five full days. The moment it powered on, the screen exploded with countless messages.
This gave Vincent a fright; he almost thought it was a virus.
Before he could check his phone messages, the doorbell suddenly rang at his front door.
Vincent curiously went to open the door and saw a well-built white young man holding a pet carrier standing at his doorstep. The other person looked somewhat listless and had obvious dark circles under his eyes, perhaps from lack of sleep.
"You are?"
Before he could ask.
The white young man gestured wildly, his movements strange, and babbled incoherently: "Hello. Is this the Prince family? Is this where Miss Diana Prince lives? My name is Barry Allen!"
"Barry Allen?" Vincent remembered. He recalled Aunt Diana saying she had entrusted Little Emperor to a friend for a few days.
"This is yours, right?" Barry unzipped the pet carrier, and instantly, a small orange-yellow figure pounced out!
"Wait!" Barry was astonished and about to use his abilities.
But he quickly discovered that the orange-yellow beast not only harmlessly leaped into the young man's arms but also kept rubbing and burrowing its small head into his armpit, making plaintive "meow" sounds like a real cat.
"Hahaha, Little Emperor, have you been well these past few days?" Vincent couldn't help but laugh, reaching out and vigorously stroking its soft, furry head.
Barry stared, looking at the harmless little cat.
If he hadn't been battling wits with this little fellow for the past few days, and his Speed Force wasn't afraid of its energy-draining ability—even then it had consumed a lot of his mental energy—he might have almost believed it was just an ordinary kitten!
"Um, you know its special qualities, right?" Barry asked directly.
Vincent looked at Little Emperor, who was acting cute and spoiled in his arms, and nodded without hiding anything.
"OK. Since it's safe with you, that's great." Barry sighed in relief and was about to turn and leave, waving his hand as he said, "I'll be going now."
"Wait." Vincent called out to him, smiling and extending his hand: "My name is Vincent Prince. Thank you very much; it must have been tiring taking care of this little guy."
"How should I put it, it also has a certain cuteness."
Looking at Little Emperor, Barry shook Vincent's hand and quickly said sincerely, "Besides, Miss Diana once helped my father, so it's only right that I help take care of a pet. Vincent, right? My house isn't far from here, it's at number 26 on Central Street. If you ever have a chance, you're welcome to visit!"
"I'll remember that, young man. If I get the chance, I'll bring Little Emperor to see you." Vincent waved goodbye.
"Uh, Little Emperor, maybe not. Of course, I'd still be very happy if you came…" Barry's eye twitched.
After watching Barry enter the elevator and leave.
Vincent blinked, then looked down at Little Emperor in his arms and said, "He's a really nice person, isn't he?"
"Meow!" Little Emperor cried out indignantly, seemingly indicating that he couldn't beat him.
"It seems he's also someone with extraordinary powers?" Vincent pondered. After so many things, encountering the extraordinary no longer surprised him.
After all, who in the Prince family wasn't extraordinary now?
