In the Hokage's office in the village of Konoha.

An old man with a goatee, dressed in a long white robe, set down the official documents he had just finished processing and gazed out the window.

'Counting the days, Kakashi and the others should have been back a few days ago. Why haven't they arrived yet?'

He was Konoha's Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, also known by the moniker "The Professor" for his mastery of ninjutsu.

Ever since the passing of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, he had once again taken up the mantle of leading Konoha, a duty he had shouldered for over a decade.

He took a puff from his pipe, contemplating the details of Team 7's mission. 'Escorting a client from the Land of Waves safely back to his home?'

It was just a simple C-rank mission; logically, nothing should have gone wrong.

Moreover, Kakashi's own skills were considerable, allowing him to handle the vast majority of unexpected situations.

This was precisely why he had felt confident entrusting such a unique team to his leadership.

"Achoo, achoo, a-choo!"

For some unknown reason, he was suddenly struck by a series of sneezes so forceful that the pipe was sent flying from his mouth.

'What's going on? Why do I have this creepy feeling?'

After the sneezing fit, an inexplicable sense of dread washed over him, as if some crisis was about to befall them.

But just as quickly, the feeling vanished without a trace, as if it had never been there. Baffled, he summoned a few Anbu Black Ops members to ask about the situation.

However, after a thorough investigation, it appeared that everything was normal. He shook his head and decided to ignore it.

What he didn't know was that, just a few minutes earlier...

"Wow, what a huge gate!"

On the road outside the main gate of Konoha, Goku stared in awe at the massive, ten-meter-high gate in the distance. After several days of travel, he, Kakashi, and the others had finally arrived.

"Is this Konoha?" he asked, turning his head to look at Kakashi.

"That's right. This is Konoha, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. It was founded by the First Hokage sixty years ago," Kakashi explained.

Goku nodded thoughtfully, then asked, "You said before that the Hokage is the strongest person here?"

On the way back to the village, to give Goku a preliminary understanding of Konoha, Kakashi had briefly explained the village's current situation to him.

This included mentioning that the Hokage was their village's leader and also its strongest individual.

"That's right. Every Hokage in history has been the most powerful person in the village. The one currently leading the village is the Third Hokage," Kakashi replied with a respectful tone.

"Is that so? Then I've gotta go have a match with him!" Goku said, rubbing his fists together, his expression alight with excitement.

During his time in the world of Naruto, he had discovered that although the people here didn't train in ki, he could still gauge their strength by the intensity of their ki.

The only issue was that the intensity of their ki in a relaxed state was different from their ki in a combat state, somewhat similar to how he suppressed his own power level.

Because of this, he hadn't been able to sense anyone with an exceptionally powerful aura, and thus hadn't found a strong opponent to spar with.

Hearing that a powerful person was nearby, he grew excited, feeling that he could finally have a proper workout.

The battles from the past few days didn't even count as a warm-up!

Hearing Goku's declaration, Kakashi nearly threw out his back.

He quickly said, "Ahem, Mr Goku, you must absolutely not do that, and please don't say it out loud again."

"People will think you are challenging Konoha and questioning the authority of the Hokage."

Goku scratched his head, a puzzled look on his face. "Huh? Isn't sparring a normal part of martial arts?"

Seeing that they were not far from the Konoha gate, Kakashi took a deep breath and spoke in a rapid-fire manner. "Mr Goku, sparring is a normal thing, but..."

In the next thirty seconds, he explained the gravity of the situation to Goku, finally adding the line,

"Lord Hokage is getting old and can't handle such roughhousing." Only then did he successfully dissuade Goku from his plan to challenge the Hokage.

In the future, he would be deeply grateful for the successful persuasion he experienced today.

Not only that, but when Hiruzen Sarutobi later learned of this, he would break out in a cold sweat and praise Kakashi for being a truly dependable subordinate.

"Yo, Kakashi, you're back," said Kotetsu, one of the guards at the gate, as the group approached. He and his partner, Izumo, noticed them and called out a greeting.

"Yeah, we're back," Kakashi replied.

"And who's this?" Kotetsu asked, his curiosity piqued by the strangely dressed Goku in their group.

"He's a friend we met on the road. He'll be staying in Konoha for a while. He won't need to register with you. I'll include it in my report to Lord Hokage later."

Kakashi knew that outsiders needed to register with Kotetsu and Izumo to enter Konoha.

However, Goku's situation was unique; he wasn't from the shinobi world, and registering him here might draw unwanted attention from certain individuals.

Therefore, he planned to bypass the registration and report directly to the Hokage himself.

"Oh, I see. Alright then," Kotetsu said. He looked Goku over again and saw that while he was quite muscular, he had a harmless look about him, so he agreed.

It didn't matter who did the registering, and he trusted that Kakashi wouldn't hide anything important. With that, he had no reason to worry.

After Goku and the others entered the village, Izumo, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly spoke up. "Hey, Kotetsu, I get the feeling that guy is not ordinary."

"Huh? You think so? I didn't feel anything," Kotetsu said, scratching his head in confusion.

"Haha~ Maybe I was just mistaken then," Izumo said, casually dropping the subject. But in his mind, he still thought, 'That man is definitely not ordinary. My gut feelings are never wrong!'

After entering the village, Kakashi gave Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura some instructions, telling them to show Goku around.

He then headed for the Hokage's tower to report the mission's events to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

In the Hokage's office, Hiruzen, who had already received news of their return, was sitting leisurely in his chair, waiting for Kakashi's report.

Knock, knock, knock!

A moment later, a knock came from the door.

"Enter."

He sat up straight and smiled at Kakashi as he pushed the door open. "Was the mission a success? I hope Naruto and the others didn't cause you too much trouble."

Kakashi closed the door and looked at Hiruzen. "Lord Hokage, there were some unexpected situations during the mission, but thankfully, they have all been resolved."

He then proceeded to recount everything that had happened on their journey.

At the end, he added, "From what I have seen of Mr Goku's words and actions, I do not believe he poses any threat to Konoha. Furthermore, he helped us on multiple occasions; he is our benefactor."

Hiruzen listened quietly, his face betraying no emotion. After Kakashi had finished, he tapped his fingers on the desk for a moment in thought, then asked, "Do you understand the potential danger of allowing such a powerful and unidentified individual to stay in Konoha?"

In his eyes, any unstable element could be a ticking time bomb, one that could detonate at any moment and bring disaster upon the village.

"I do. But I will personally guarantee that he will not bring any harm to Konoha," Kakashi said with a solemn expression.

Although they hadn't known each other for long, for some reason, he trusted Goku from the bottom of his heart. It may be just Goku's unique charisma.

"I understand. In that case, we will let him stay for a while and see. As for his living arrangements..."

Clatter, clatter!!

Before Hiruzen could finish his sentence, dozens of gold bars suddenly tumbled onto the desk in front of him.

Kakashi put away the sealing scroll that had held the gold and said to the astonished Hokage, "This is the money Mr Goku entrusted to me. I trust Lord Hokage will be able to find a suitable residence for him."
