Chapter 26 - C26 – Preserving life is the right thing to do

Jiang Feng first locked onto Old K, pressing his car tightly in front of Old K's.

Old K sneered, "Daring to cut me off? You're asking for death."

Liang Dachao seemed to see an opportunity and shouted to Old K, "Old K, hit him! There's a steep slope ahead, send him off the cliff."

"I was just thinking that. Hehe, just watch," Old K replied.

Vroom!

Old K suddenly floored the gas pedal, ramming his car towards Jiang Feng's.

Jiang Feng squinted his eyes, "Perfect timing."

Just as Old K's car was about to collide with Jiang Feng's, Jiang Feng accelerated forward and then abruptly stopped. The whole maneuver was so quick that Old K was caught off guard.

It was like a scare tactic—fast then slow—no one could handle such sudden changes.

But Old K didn't seem to intend to brake; he was going to ram straight through.

Bang!

Old K's car finally crashed into the rear of Jiang Feng's car.

However, to Old K's surprise, Jiang Feng's car didn't budge an inch, as steady as a rock.

This caused Old K's car to jolt violently, the front end dented deeply, and the massive impact caused the tires to lose control momentarily, leaving black skid marks on the ground.

"My car is reinforced with True Qi. If you can move it even a bit, that would be a miracle," Jiang Feng said with a faint smile.

Now, no matter how much Old K tried to ram it, Jiang Feng's car wouldn't be affected, like an unmovable mountain.

Trying to force it would be courting death.

Old K was now a perfect example of this.

Cold sweat broke out on Old K's forehead. Seeing the steep slope and sharp turn ahead, if he couldn't control his car, he would definitely plunge off the cliff.

But no matter how hard he tried to stop, he couldn't.

Jiang Feng wouldn't miss such a good opportunity.

"Here, let me give you a little push."

Jiang Feng quickly moved his car to the inside of Old K's, then slowed down, driving side by side with Old K.

This forced Liang Dachao's car far behind.

Liang Dachao wasn't stupid; he immediately saw Jiang Feng's intention and shouted to Old K, "Old K, be careful! He's trying to push you off the cliff."

"I know, but I can't control the car!" Old K shouted anxiously.

"Control it or die!" Liang Dachao roared.

But at that moment, they reached the steep slope, and Jiang Feng unhesitatingly rammed into Old K's car.

Bang!

Old K's car, on the outermost side, was inevitably pushed off the cliff.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The car tumbled wildly, disappearing into the darkness in the blink of an eye.

"Ahhh..." Old K let out a final scream before falling silent.

Cheng Shaoqing was petrified. She had never seen such a violent and bloody scene.

Falling from such a height, even if one didn't die, they would be crippled.

This was a big deal now.

But it was too late to say anything; her life was still not in her own hands.

"Old K, Old K, are you okay? Answer me if you hear this," Liang Dachao called out.

However, there was no response.

After a moment of silence, the sound of engines roared again.

Jiang Feng had successfully maneuvered his car around the turn.

Liang Dachao followed closely behind. He knew Old K was likely doomed; now, he could only rely on himself.

"You killed my partner. Watch how I kill you today," Liang Dachao said hatefully.

Liang Dachao was completely enraged, his eyes bloodshot, chasing Jiang Feng recklessly.

But no matter how he chased, he couldn't catch up to Jiang Feng, always maintaining a distance of two or three meters.

Having dealt with Old K, Jiang Feng wouldn't let Liang Dachao go either. Letting him go would be like releasing a tiger back into the wild, causing more trouble later.

So tonight, Liang Dachao wouldn't escape either.

Now that Liang Dachao was relentlessly pursuing, Jiang Feng wouldn't be polite.

He was waiting for another opportunity.

That opportunity came quickly.

Ahead, there was another steep slope and sharp turn.

Since this was a mountain road, such terrain was common, appearing every time the road ascended.

This kind of terrain was Jiang Feng's best chance.

At the same time, Liang Dachao didn't want to miss this opportunity either; he also wanted to use it to take out Jiang Feng.

Both had the same thought, setting the stage for an intense chase.

Vroom vroom!

The two cars, like phantoms in the night, tore through the darkness, shattering the moonlight.

"Jiang Feng, I'm going to kill you," Liang Dachao shouted angrily.

He floored the gas pedal, determined to ram Jiang Feng to death.

Jiang Feng looked at Liang Dachao's furious face in the rearview mirror and smiled faintly. The angrier he was, the better. Anger would make him lose his rationality, bringing him closer to death.

Finally, they reached the turn. Jiang Feng shifted gears, turned, and floored the gas pedal, executing a series of maneuvers flawlessly. Even the best race car drivers couldn't match this speed.

Liang Dachao, behind him, saw Jiang Feng's car suddenly perform a 180-degree spin, the front and rear almost scraping the sides of the road. It was incredibly dangerous; any slight deviation would lead to an irreparable disaster.

Liang Dachao widened his eyes in disbelief, unable to fathom how Jiang Feng managed it. To him, it seemed almost impossible.

But Jiang Feng did it, and he did it perfectly, like a flowing river.

Liang Dachao even doubted his own eyes.

However, just as Liang Dachao was in shock, Jiang Feng's car came straight at him.

Liang Dachao was startled, trying to dodge, but it was too late; there was no way to avoid it.

Bang!

With a loud crash, Liang Dachao's car was sent flying, flipping countless times in the dark night like a thrown basketball.

"No..." Liang Dachao screamed.

But his voice was drowned out by the loud crash and the howling wind rushing into the car.

Under such an impact, the front of Liang Dachao's car was severely deformed, the windows shattered, and his face was cut with several bloody gashes from the broken glass.

He gripped the steering wheel tightly, like a helpless ant floating alone on an endless ocean, stepping on a single leaf.

In such a situation, he was beyond saving.

The next second, Liang Dachao, along with his car, plunged into the abyss.

Liang Dachao's fate was inevitable, determined from the moment he sought revenge on Jiang Feng.

Liang Dachao's car was destroyed, and he perished, while Jiang Feng's car remained unscathed.

Such was the benefit of infusing a bit of True Qi.

Even the worst car could become a supercar.

Forget sports cars; even tanks could be crushed.

"Yoo-hoo, exhilarating!" Jiang Feng shouted.

He didn't stop but turned the car towards the mountain top.

"Where are we going? Shouldn't we hurry back?" Cheng Shaoqing asked, puzzled.

"We're almost at the top. Since we're here, we might as well go to the top and take a look. It won't be a wasted trip," Jiang Feng replied.

Cheng Shaoqing nodded slightly, saying nothing more.

Soon, the car stopped at the mountain top.

The two got out, Jiang Feng spreading his arms to feel the gentle night breeze.

Cheng Shaoqing also spread her arms, mimicking Jiang Feng's pose.

They stood there quietly for three minutes, neither speaking, as if neither wanted to break the silence.

As if guided by some unseen force, they turned their heads simultaneously, looked at each other, and then laughed.

After a while, Jiang Feng said, "Nice place, isn't it?"

"Yes, very nice. I've never climbed a mountain at night, let alone looked down at the city in the dark," Cheng Shaoqing said.

"Then you should really appreciate this view. If you miss it, you might not get another chance," Jiang Feng said.

"Yes, if you miss it, there might not be another chance," Cheng Shaoqing said, staring at Jiang Feng.

It seemed her words had a deeper meaning.

Jiang Feng was slightly taken aback, then after a moment of silence, he asked, "Do you think what I did just now was right?"

"There's no right or wrong. In a life-and-death situation, saving your own life is the right thing to do," Cheng Shaoqing said. "Liang Dachao deserved to die. A spoiled brat like him is a menace to society; his death brings peace."

Cheng Shaoqing's words made Jiang Feng see her in a new light. For a young woman to say such things showed she had her own principles, a hidden strength that would explode if touched.

In other words, Cheng Shaoqing wasn't a weak woman at heart; she was a heroine capable of great deeds.

This reminded Jiang Feng of the female disciples in the Immortal Realm, who fought for their cultivation in various sects.

To save their own lives, they had to take the lives of their enemies.

Otherwise, they would die.

Jiang Feng had thought Cheng Shaoqing would find it cruel or be scared and worried.

But she was so calm and had her own understanding of death.

As long as she survived, everything she did was right.

Jiang Feng liked this explanation or considered it a kind of rationale.

"Why, do you think I'm wrong?" Cheng Shaoqing asked, seeing Jiang Feng in a daze.

"No, you're absolutely right. I think the same way," Jiang Feng smiled. "You have your own thoughts, something other women can't compare to."

"Really? Haha, can I take that as a compliment?" Cheng Shaoqing laughed.

"Of course," Jiang Feng said.

"Thank you," Cheng Shaoqing said.

"You're welcome," Jiang Feng replied.

At that moment, it seemed an invisible thread was binding them closer together.

After a long time, Jiang Feng and Cheng Shaoqing finally drove down the mountain and returned home.

After saying goodnight, they each went to rest, needing to get up early for class the next day.

But Jiang Feng didn't sleep; he still had his daily practice to do—cultivation.

Cultivating every night was of utmost importance and couldn't be neglected.

In the path of cultivation, self-discipline was crucial. If one needed to be forced to cultivate, they would never achieve anything.

Jiang Feng had long formed this habit; not doing it for a day felt uncomfortable.

As usual, he began practicing the Nine Heavens Tyrant Body Technique.

At the same time, he took out the Spirit Stone he had obtained from the back mountain of his hometown, absorbing its Spiritual Energy, converting it into True Qi, and storing it in his Dantian.

He repeated this process tirelessly...
