A week had passed after the infiltration.
While Kirara was preparing for the incoming class, Yuza's thoughts drifted back to the moment someone appeared that helped her chase the spies.
Some time had passed when Kirara finally noticed Yuza's deep thought.
"You alright, Yuza?"
Yuza decided to share what happened that night with Kirara.
"Oh... is that so? If you told me this earlier, I might have been able to share, though—but now..."
Suddenly, the whole building shook.
Yuza's gaze fell outside the building. "I have to leave. Protect yourself while I'm gone," she said while tossing a hidden gun to Kirara. She kicked the window, then jumped out.
The sudden earthquake was felt all over the city. Yuza, while jumping over the rooftops, came to a sudden realization.
"Wait... could the laboratory be near us all this time? Did they use the production site to lure us?"
She turned and ran back to the apartment where they temporarily stayed.
"Was the earthquake their doing? They might know about us al—" several gunshots rang out. Upon arriving at the room, four armed persons with masks lay dead.
She hurriedly called for Kirara, finding her inside the bathroom trembling while holding the gun.
"Are you alright?"
"Y-yes, p-probably. Hehe," Kirara replied in a trembling voice.
"Let's go. Our location and whereabouts have already been known."
Yuza packed all the important files and equipment they needed. Kirara then did the same.
Above the Gravity Legion Company, several cubicles emerged from the ground, containing drones with firearms.
While fleeing, Yuza and Kirara encountered many armed men ready to kill them. Yuza, with her inhuman strength, easily annihilated every armed man.
A sudden loud noise echoed from the place where they were running through. After the smoke disappeared, a massive crater was left.
Yuza, after recovering from a sudden shock, reached out for Kirara.
"I'm glad you noticed in time, otherwise we'd be dead by now," Kirara whispered to Yuza while leaning behind a wall.
After a brief rest, they continued to sneakily pass through a narrow alley while avoiding surveillance from the enemy.
After reaching a certain area, Yuza opened up a manhole cover connecting to the underground sewer. Upon reaching a certain point, they noticed an enemy patrolling the area.
"Careful, don't make any noise," Yuza stepped back while whispering to Kirara.
The enemy heard a noise and hurriedly ran to the location, finding nothing. They figured it was just a rat, as one ran away after noticing them.
After they were gone, Yuza slowly dropped Kirara from the hole in the ceiling. Yuza looked around, then focused for a while, listening to the surroundings. Kirara only muttered, "That's scary."
After a while, they reached a hidden block. Yuza pressed a certain brick until she pressed the last one, which sank deeper than the others. Then the sound of mechanical parts echoed, opening a hidden path.
"Let's go. They may find this path if we wait longer," Yuza said, pulling Kirara as the door closed completely.
"Yuza, did that door only need one brick to press?" Kirara asked while walking.
"We're safe now. No need to think about the hidden door. Only trusted members of your father's secret operation know about this entrance."
The path they had led them to Heinrich's company's hidden basement, where the proxy was stored.
"Who are those people? Why are they attacking us?"
"Maybe they want us gone," Yuza answered while checking all the surveillance around the sewer and company area.
In a dimly lit room where four masked figures sat, one finally spoke. "Have we got them already? What an easy target."
After he spoke, one of their drones' signals cut off.
"W-what's happening?" one of them shouted. The other two were grinning, but one remained smiling.
"Seems like we have an interesting moment to watch."
"So, they're still alive. One of them is superhuman after all." ¹
"Are they together this entire time? That good-for-nothing puppet?! This is bad!" ²
"We still need to look out for that mysterious person's movements." ³
"Heinrich's puppets are a big threat. If we don't act early, we might—" ¹
A howling scream echoed through the entire underground facility.
A monstrous figure inside a cell and a winged creature inside a capsule awakened with crimson eyes.
"Two subjects are now ready. He'll love this incoming destruction for sure."
Three of them laughed menacingly, while one remained smiling.
