Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: The Vicious Dog Kills Its Master

The Master of Evasion

If shirking responsibility were an art form, Mike Gray was undoubtedly a master. With just a few words, he had completely absolved himself, leaving only the minor charge of failure to supervise.

A failure to supervise could be a trivial or a serious matter; the key was always one's political power.

Luke was certain that if he left now, Mike Gray would walk away virtually unscathed, perhaps receiving only an internal warning. Then, Gray would transform into a venomous Black Mamba, hiding in an unseen corner, waiting for Luke to show even a slight weakness before striking ruthlessly, his fangs ripping flesh to taste the sweetest blood.

Don't doubt it; he would absolutely do this, for that's how power is maintained.

Therefore, Luke never showed mercy to the powerful. If he could kill them with one blow, he wouldn't swing a second time. However, for ordinary people, he often offered leeway and a way out.

Mike Gray was clearly the former.

"Mr. Gray, I'm asking you one last time: does Elijah Field truly have no connection to you?"

"No, absolutely none."

Mike Gray patted his chest, swearing on God's name. "What Elijah did has nothing to do with me. I never once thought he would use private torture."

"In that case, this will be easy."

Luke clapped his hands and called out loudly, "Linda, bring him in."

BOOM! A deafening roar erupted.

The wall behind them exploded. Amidst the swirling dust and debris, a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl appeared in the office. With a casual lift of her arm, she tossed the middle-aged man she was carrying onto the floor, glared angrily at Luke, and flew out without a second look.

This entire operation left everyone in the office dumbfounded.

The FBI headquarters was built with high-strength concrete mixed with various alloys, giving it extreme durability—a war-grade military bunker. Never mind regular firearms; even an anti-tank cannon couldn't breach it. Yet, in the girl's hands, the massive wall was like a block of tofu, exploding with a loud bang and leaving a two-meter-wide circular hole.

"Who exactly is this girl?"

Everyone instinctively asked themselves, unable to find an answer. The few senior agents who knew the rumors realized, Could she be the alien girl who caused chaos around the world a month ago?

Didn't she disappear?

Why is she back? And at this exact moment? Could it be...

A few agents who grasped the implications looked at Luke with intense horror.

Is this guy actually sleeping with the alien woman? How dare he lay a hand on a body that hard!

Mike Gray also realized the truth. His eyes darted nervously, and the thought of escape crossed his mind.

He knew better than anyone how terrifying the alien girl was: a body harder than steel alloy, near-infinite strength, virtually limitless stamina, speed faster than sound, and incredibly powerful senses... If she lost her temper, everyone present would die, without exception.

Linda's appearance cast a pall of fear over everyone. This shadow was exactly what Luke wanted. The old saying, the fox borrowing the tiger's might, perfectly described the situation.

"Everyone, don't panic. Linda is my friend, and she absolutely means no harm. It's just that she prefers to fly straight and doesn't like corners, which is why she smashed the wall. If any of you are unhappy, you can tell me, and I'll be sure to pass along your complaint."

Everyone: "..."

Retribution

Luke smiled faintly, his gaze directed at Charlie by the doorway.

"Do you know who this person on the floor is?"

Charlie's eyebrows twitched, and his expression gradually turned vicious. He stepped forward and ripped off the hood covering the man's head, revealing a familiar ugly face—it was Elijah Field!

"Dead fat pig, you finally got what's coming to you!"

Charlie was furious. He used his hands and feet, wildly unleashing his anger. Osman quickly stepped forward, embracing him and pulling him away. This was the FBI office. Even if they sought revenge, it couldn't be here.

Luke surveyed the room and said with a light smile, "Everyone here should recognize him: Elijah Field, a high-level FBI agent, your colleague. I don't need to introduce him."

Everyone was silent, their faces a spectacular mix of emotions.

It was only then that they fully realized Luke's true objective wasn't merely to demand an explanation. It was to utterly ruin the entire FBI Metropolis Field Office, tearing it down from the foundation.

This guy is terrifying. He had so much evidence but kept it hidden, patiently spinning his massive web like a spider. Only when the prey was trapped and helpless did he bare his fangs and show his true colors.

Being his opponent was a terrifying prospect.

Luke walked up to Elijah, removed the tape from his mouth, and slapped his ugly face hard a few times.

"You heard everything just now. Chief Gray said you have no connection, that using private torture was your own decision and has nothing to do with him."

"So, I want to ask you: do you really have no connection to him?"

Elijah remained silent, merely staring at Mike Gray with man-eating eyes. If looks could be lethal blades, he would have sliced the man into a thousand pieces. In all his years with the FBI, he had loyally risked his life for Mike Gray, committing countless atrocities and taking the blame for him. He even lost his wife to help Gray climb the ladder.

And now this bastard was going to kick him out to be the scapegoat! Damn it! You all deserve to die!

Elijah was enraged. His face was flushed deep red from blood rushing to his head, and his bloodshot eyes were fixed straight ahead, like a charging grizzly bear.

Mike Gray couldn't help but take a step back, not bothering to figure out why Elijah was here. He quickly rallied his staff.

"Quick, arrest him! Elijah Field is suspected of using private torture, a severe violation of discipline that has caused a terrible impact on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's image. Arrest him! I will personally interrogate him."

Despite his shouting, not a single person, aside from his personal assistant, responded.

The agents present were completely disillusioned with Mike Gray. They were angry enough to kill him; there was no way they would help him.

Luke curled his lip, gave Gray a cold glance, and subtly backed away towards the door.

As he moved away, there was a bang. Elijah broke his handcuffs, scrambled up from the floor, and his powerful body, radiating terrifying pressure, charged straight toward Mike Gray.

The assistant tried to intervene but was floored by a single punch.

Mike Gray ran for the desk to reach his gun, but Elijah was faster. He cornered him, grabbed his arm, and executed a perfect Israeli shoulder throw, slamming him onto the coffee table mid-air.

CRACK!

The sound of bone snapping was sickeningly clear. With just that one throw, Mike Gray lost all ability to resist. Like a puppet, Elijah grabbed his neck and began slamming his head repeatedly into the floor.

The back of Gray's head met the floor with loud thudding sounds. If this continued, Mike Gray would surely die.

A few senior agents couldn't sit still any longer and rushed forward, trying to subdue Elijah. The latter gave them no chance. Facing multiple opponents, he used his powerful physique and superior combat skills to gain the upper hand.

"Worthy of a man who came out of the Special Forces. He's got real skills."

Luke clicked his tongue in appreciation, slipped along the wall toward the doorway, and seeing Charlie still watching the chaos, he kicked him.

"What are you doing here? Trying to get killed?"

Charlie reluctantly tore his gaze away and left with Luke.
