Chapter 672 - Chapter 672: Annihilation

Chapter 672: Annihilation

The Moon God's Farewell

"The Moon God?"

Dom wiped the blood from his mouth, his expression complex as he watched the figure gradually disappear—a mix of memory and sigh, but absolutely no hatred.

"I take back what I said earlier. You truly are her."

Only she would be so resolute, launching an attack regardless of the cost.

The moonlight vanished, and her body quickly dissipated, leaving behind only a trace of an imperceptible residual soul.

"Princess!"

A member of the Celestial Court rushed forward frantically, constantly injecting his soul power into her, forcibly maintaining the true spirit that was about to vanish.

Dom merely glanced at him. His figure flickered, and he appeared directly overhead, staring coldly at the Human Gods led by Artemis.

"There's no need to continue fighting. Tell me the location of the main tentacle body, and I will allow you to reincarnate."

Artemis spat in contempt.

"Reincarnation is a joke! As long as there's still a chance, we will fight to the death!"

Dom said no more. He brandished his scimitars. The blades flashed, and the sky filled with a dense black rain of light. Anything struck by these raindrops—no matter what—split into imperceptible particles.

Artemis roared, "Be careful! Don't let the raindrops hit you!"

She drew her bow and fired. A jade-green arrow carried a tornado that rushed toward the sky. However, after only a moment, the tornado vanished, pulverized by the bombardment of the raindrops.

One Human God was too slow to dodge. A raindrop struck his tentacle. Dense cuts appeared on his skin. Blood gushed out, quickly turning into a red blood mist. His massive body disintegrated into particles and was simply blown away by the wind.

This scene utterly stunned Clark, Diana, and J'onn.

Just one drop of rain, and that huge body was gone!

This is far too exaggerated!

They thought the Death Gods they encountered earlier were formidable enough, but this was even more terrifying.

Seeing the rain approaching, the three quickly flew far away. Relying on their extraordinary speed, they managed to escape the rain's coverage. Unfortunately, the others were not so lucky.

The black rain of light could not only dismember flesh but was effective against energy as well. Magic barriers or protective shields composed of ice or flame were all unable to withstand the corrosive attack of the light rain.

The Human Gods suffered heavy casualties. After the rain passed, only seventeen survived, with more than half wiped out.

"Fighting you in your current state is pointless."

Dom inexplicably shook his head. He swung his blade for a direct strike. A streak of black light pierced the heavens and the earth.

Pfft!

Two Human Gods grazed by the black light showed intense unwillingness. Large bloody gashes appeared on their bodies, and they shattered like glass.

"Die!"

Artemis drew her bow and fired frantically at Dom. Jade-green arrows sliced through the void, only to be casually deflected by Dom. Over a hundred arrows failed to inflict any damage.

"Goddess of the Hunt of Mount Olympus, you are no longer who you once were."

Dom raised his scimitar. The blade fell, and black light surged out, covering the sky. Arrows along its path were all knocked away, leaving only a dazed Artemis.

The disparity in power was too vast—vast enough to inspire despair.

Artemis gave a bitter smile, closed her eyes, and prepared for death. Suddenly, she heard a whooshing sound, and a powerful force struck her, throwing her backward.

Artemis opened her eyes and saw Clark in front of her. She couldn't help but say,

"Human, you..."

"Diana told me to come. She doesn't want you to die."

In the distance, Diana drew the Soul-Devouring Bow that Luke had left behind. An arrow sparking with black electricity slowly formed.

Bang!

The void shook. A streak of black light pierced the heavens and the earth, colliding with Dom's scimitar.

Boom!

An explosion ripped through the sky, forming a sun composed of black lightning.

Dom was sent flying straight back, retreating several hundred meters before stopping. His gaze, sharp as a blade, fixed coldly on Diana holding the long bow.

"That bow is not something a human should possess."

"I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're saying."

Diana drew the bow again. Black light coiled around the bowstring. The bow twanged, and a black light, piercing the heavens and earth, shot out from the bow, carrying Dom high into the sky.

"That's powerful!" J'onn couldn't help but exclaim. "Much stronger than the short blade I was holding."

"The toll is also immense," Clark said, shaking his head. His gaze on Diana was full of worry. After just two arrows, she looked utterly drained, her limbs exhausted, her face pale, and cold sweat beading on her forehead.

What's going on?

Confusion filled her mind. Luke had looked so effortless when he shot the bow! Why was it so taxing for her?

It doesn't make sense!

"We need to retreat now," Artemis said, despite her extreme reluctance. The situation was eerily similar to the War of the Gods. Continuing the fight was pointless and would only increase the casualties.

"Come with me. I'll take you out of here."

With that, her remaining tentacle recoiled, plunging into the ground. Clark and J'onn exchanged glances. Though confused, they had no choice. The two of them, carrying the physically and mentally exhausted Diana, followed Artemis deep underground.

Seeing this, the remaining Human Gods sighed in relief and quickly fled the battlefield.

By the time Dom descended from the sky, everyone had vanished. The surroundings were quiet. Were it not for the craters on the ground, no one would believe a war had just erupted here.

The Labyrinth and the Wall of Eyes

The ground beneath the Plain of White Bones contained a complex, labyrinthine network of underground tunnels. These tunnels were painstakingly excavated by the tentacles over the years, meant for emergency use. Now, they were finally proving useful.

The three heroes followed Artemis, weaving back and forth through the maze. It was only now that they realized how incredibly long the tentacle monsters' bodies were.

Their bodies seemed like endless curves, with no discernible beginning or end.

After flying for a full five minutes, the group finally reached the endpoint.

It was a cavern hidden over four thousand meters underground, vast in size, with a vertical height of at least twenty-five hundred meters. The cavern was pitch black, lit only by occasional flashes of firelight. Looking closely through the light, they could vaguely make out a wall.

Artemis's tentacle was fused to this wall, and so were the tentacles of all the other Human Gods.

J'onn suddenly clutched his head and knelt down, obviously in extreme pain.

Diana asked anxiously, "What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"I sense an abnormally chaotic and immense psychic fluctuation—right up ahead! That wall... cough... it's alive!"

Alive?

Clark and Diana instinctively looked forward. The mountain-sized wall suddenly writhed. Cracks appeared on its surface, and within the cracks, hundreds of eyes materialized.

These eyes were of all sizes: some were oceanic blue, some blood-red, some mist-shrouded, some sparking with electricity, some mesmerizing, and some with two pupils.

Hundreds of eyes simultaneously gazed downward, staring fixedly at the three heroes.

The air solidified at that moment. Breathing vanished.

Oppression. An omnipresent mental pressure, like a boundless mountain, sealed the bodies and souls of the three heroes.

They stood there, paralyzed and blank, unable even to muster the will to speak.
