Chapter 288 - God

Lexon traced the source, utilizing the ability of that 'Number Three' Reincarnator to search through all the information stored within Vaccine Man's memories.

Like a fast-forward, the surrounding environment shifted continuously.

The speed was staggering!

'Is it here...?' Lexon suddenly murmured, stopping at a segment of memory.

What appeared around them was a plain covered in flowers.

Vaccine Man's figure was noticeably small at this time, like a miniature version, standing among the flowers and looking lost at the sky.

Lexon stood beside him, following his gaze in that direction.

Then, Lexon saw a figure.

It was incredibly tall, as if piercing the clouds.

Humanoid, yet gaunt.

Its entire body was a mysterious shade of black, instilling a sense of dread at a single glance.

The face on that humanoid head was nothing but chaotic darkness; no facial features existed at all.

God?

The name surfaced in Lexon's mind.

This wasn't Lexon praising the other party.

Rather, in the original series, this character was referred to as 'God.'

An extremely mysterious character.

Hidden within the moon, it possessed peerless power.

Many monster characters had been influenced by it...

For instance, 'Homeless Emperor,' who would appear in the Monster Association arc.

His power to instantly transform from an ordinary person into a Dragon-level monster was granted by 'God.'

In other words, 'God' could create Dragon-level monsters at will.

This was something even the current Lexon could not achieve.

Therefore, Lexon was quite interested in this 'God.'

Just because he couldn't do what the other party did didn't mean he couldn't capture it for a sign-in.

'This is quite a surprise... I didn't expect the planet's will Vaccine Man spoke of to be this "God".'

Lexon was slightly surprised, as the original work never revealed any connection between the two.

'Hiding on the moon, is it...?'

He gazed at the towering 'God,' his thoughts swirling.

'If I want to capture it for a sign-in, I'll have to take another trip to the moon...'

'Should I catch it and give it a beating like I did with Kaguya?'

[I GIVE YOU POWER. KILL EVERY HUMAN ON THE SURFACE.]

While Lexon was still thinking, God's voice arrived.

Its voice was transmitted directly into this space.

Moreover, the tone and cadence were exceptionally strange, carrying an indescribable sense of eeriness.

"Yes!! Great Will of the Planet!! I will follow your will! I will slaughter every last human!"

Vaccine Man's body seemed to grow larger at 'God's' words, and he responded with agitated fervor.

[THEN GO.]

God spoke again with that same eerie sensation.

"Yes!! I will definitely kill them all!!" Vaccine Man shouted with an excited expression.

However, despite making such a grand oath, the final result... well, everyone understood.

That should be all for this.

Lexon intended to stop the use of his ability.

Knowing that 'God' was the so-called 'Will of the Planet,' he understood that questions like 'the origin of monsters' couldn't be answered here.

"God" wasn't truly a 'God' in the absolute sense.

To put it bluntly, it was just a higher-tier monster.

There were no real answers to be found from it.

'Wait, if I use "God's" ability to create monsters, couldn't I just manufacture them at will and kill them? Wouldn't that allow for infinite farming of side-quest points?'

Lexon suddenly had a realization.

'I'll try it later... I'll see if the Main God plugs this loophole.'

With a flick of Lexon's finger, a snap echoed within this mental space.

The surrounding images began to collapse.

But in the next moment, a sudden change occurred!

The scene that should have completely crumbled stopped abruptly.

It maintained a state of being on the verge of collapse without actually breaking.

Hmm?

Lexon raised an eyebrow and cast his gaze toward the distant, colossal black humanoid figure.

He discovered that the hollow, chaotic black face was now turned toward him.

Vaccine Man's image had already collapsed; normally, this 'God' should have crumbled too.

"Is this your doing?" Lexon asked God with a friendly smile.

However, his words were met with no immediate response.

It took a long time before an answer came.

[WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?]

It was still that incredibly eerie voice.

"You don't mind if I take a little peek, do you?" Lexon said with a smile.

[...]

[YOU... SHALL DIE.]

As soon as the words fell, 'God's' massive jet-black arm swept toward Lexon with inconceivable speed.

Everywhere the hand's trajectory touched, mysterious fractures appeared, and a terrifying, pitch-black aura surged forth.

Thus, Lexon was completely enveloped within the reach of the black palm.

But just as 'God' was about to clench its hand to crush this human's spirit... a smile suddenly tugged at the corner of Lexon's mouth.

"Caught you."

A voice with a hint of joy rang out.

Lexon did not retreat; instead, he moved forward, proactively reaching out to touch the pitch-black hand.

In the next instant, 'God's' massive frame shuddered violently.

It felt an incomprehensible power about to flow into its spiritual shell through the attack of its own black arm.

In a flash, 'God' made a decision.

That arm snapped off abruptly under its own control.

Revealing a jagged, chaotic black stump.

Planning to run?

Just as the thought occurred to Lexon, 'God's' massive spiritual body, missing an arm, vanished instantly just as he expected.

"He really ran away," Lexon murmured, standing in the mental space that was now completely shattering.

Lexon didn't really have a good way to stop him if he truly fled.

In this kind of mental intrusion, it was entirely a confrontation of spirit against spirit.

Furthermore, he was the intruder; compared to the host, he faced a certain home-field disadvantage.

Naturally, it was difficult to pin the opponent down.

Lexon's original goal wasn't to kill the opponent outright, but to trace the source through the opponent's attack and find exactly which corner of the moon he was hiding in.

After all, he was thinking of treating 'God' like livestock for farming... how could he kill him?

Moreover, the opponent's strength was at least at the peak of the Six Paths level or higher.

If he really wanted to deal with him, it would inevitably take Lexon a few more moves in his base state...

"However... things probably won't be easy for him right now..."

At this thought, the smile on Lexon's lips brightened even more.

...

Meanwhile, in a mysterious pocket dimension somewhere on the cratered surface of the moon.

Eerie roars filled with extreme fury suddenly erupted from the pocket dimension.

[DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAMN IT! DAMN HUMAN!!!]

The sound was like waves, causing storms to billow across the lunar surface.

Inside the pocket dimension, the 'God' whose appearance was identical to the one Lexon had seen had now lost nearly half of its body.

Clearly, this was caused by the power Lexon had transmitted.

Even though it had severed the contact arm in time from a spiritual level, it still ended up in such a state...
