Chapter 293 - Apprenticeship

"I'm... I'm not dead..." Genos spoke haltingly.

"That's good," Lexon said with a smile.

Then, he casually dropped Genos onto the ground.

Lexon had no interest in holding a man's body for long.

"You're a hero, right? The Mosquito Girl across from us is extremely powerful; you must be careful," Genos explained hurriedly as he regained his composure.

He knew this newcomer must be a member of the Hero Association. Based on the biological intensity he detected, his strength shouldn't be weak...

But the Mosquito Girl across from them had been enhanced... her strength was equally not to be underestimated.

Thus, Genos wanted the man to treat the situation with caution.

"No problem, no problem," Lexon waved his hand leisurely.

Anyone could see that he wasn't taking Genos's words to heart.

'I hope he wins... if not, I'll have to try self-destructing one more time.'

Genos's mangled body lay on the ground. As he watched the casual man beside him, his mind rationally planned for failure.

"Ara... has another one come to seek death?" Seeing a male human standing on the ground looking at her, a flush appeared on Mosquito Girl's face, and she licked her claws with her tongue.

Compared to that cyborg who was all machinery, she was far more interested in humans with flesh and blood.

"Besides... you're quite handsome, human. I wonder what your flesh and blood taste like?" Mosquito Girl said with a hint of excitement.

'This probably isn't the first person who's lusted after my body, is it?'

Lexon's smile didn't fade.

"Is the aesthetic sense of monsters similar to humans?" he asked the Mosquito Girl in mid-air.

Simultaneously, the azure Nichirin Sword manifested in his hand.

Additionally... a thin mist gradually drifted from the blade...

"Hmm?" Mosquito Girl's expression suddenly shifted. Her excitement vanished, and her eyes fixed intensely on Lexon.

Her instincts told her...

This human was somewhat danger—

Before the thought could settle, Mosquito Girl felt her consciousness cut off.

A blue flash suddenly appeared before her eyes, and her consciousness plunged into complete silence.

*Splat.*

Mosquito Girl's body, split in two, fell straight from the air, making a dull thud as it hit the ground.

"Ah... she died quite fast," Lexon remarked calmly as he looked at Mosquito Girl's corpse.

Then, he stored the Nichirin Sword back into his spatial ring.

"You..." At that moment, Lexon heard Genos's startled voice from behind.

"What's wrong?" Lexon turned his head.

"What is your name..." Genos asked.

"Lexon."

"My name is Genos."

"And?"

"I want to become your disciple!" Genos said with a firm tone.

His current strength was insufficient; he had no power to resist the evolved Mosquito Girl, yet the man before him could kill her in a single strike...

Therefore, Genos wanted to learn his swordsmanship to enhance his own strength!

Only then could he better achieve his goal!

To track down and kill the rampaging cyborg who had destroyed his hometown while exterminating monsters along the way!

However, Lexon had already anticipated this reaction. He shook his head with a smile and said, "There is a hero named Saitama. He is even stronger than I am. He can be your master."

While praising Saitama, he also took the opportunity to dump the responsibility onto him.

Lexon had no interest in being anyone's master.

Of course, there might be a time when he was interested.

But not now.

"I can take two masters!" Genos said enthusiastically.

"No." Lexon crossed his arms and refused.

Saitama might reluctantly agree for money, but Lexon wouldn't.

Genos had nothing he cared about.

"I sincerely request you! Master Lexon!" Genos was a determined nineteen-year-old.

"I said no, so no it is," Lexon's voice was full of amusement. "Say it again, and I'll dismantle what's left of your body."

However, Genos sensed a dangerous edge beneath that amusement.

He couldn't push any further.

Or so Genos thought.

"Then I beg Mr. Lexon to introduce Mr. Saitama to me!" Genos requested seriously.

"Fine," Lexon replied.

Next, Lexon approached Genos and placed his hand on Genos's head.

"Don't resist. Although, resisting wouldn't do you any good anyway."

In the next instant, the two figures vanished.

...

"Eh? What's this junk? Is it a person? Not dead yet?" Saitama, who was watching TV, turned his head and looked at Lexon and Genos, who had suddenly appeared in the room, speaking with great surprise.

"His name is Genos, a cyborg. He was the one fighting the monster," Lexon replied.

"I see..." Saitama picked his nose.

'Is this person really stronger than Mr. Lexon?'

Genos thought to himself as he looked at this somewhat eccentric bald man.

"I told him you're strong, so he wants to become your disciple," Lexon said to Saitama.

"No way... I don't want to be anyone's master..." Saitama refused with a drawn-out groan.

He really didn't want to be a master. It was such a hassle...

Besides, he didn't even know how to teach a disciple...

"He's quite wealthy. He'll pay you."

"I'll do it!" The words had barely left Lexon's mouth when Saitama's bored face suddenly became extremely serious, and he gave a thumb-up to himself. "Leave it to me!"

'Sure enough, when it involves Saitama... as long as it doesn't violate his principles, things can be easily settled with money.'

That was Lexon's thought.

'Getting swayed by wealth... is such a person really a powerhouse?'

That was Genos's thought.

"Then from now on, Genos, Saitama is your master. Saitama, Genos is your disciple," Lexon summarized.

"Yes, Mr. Lexon!" Genos nodded in response, then looked at Saitama and said loudly, "Saitama-sensei, please guide me from now on!"

"Oh... but are you really okay like that? You're missing an arm and a leg, after all." Saitama rubbed his chin with his hand, looking at the mangled Genos.

"It's no problem. Someone will help repair me when I go back," Genos replied.

For a cyborg like him, missing parts just needed to be replaced.

It was very convenient.

'I'll fly back to the Doctor to get repaired in a bit.'

That was Genos's plan.

"I see," Saitama responded.

"Genos, who is the person who repairs you?" Lexon asked, aiming to bring up the doctor behind him.

"It's Dr. Kuseno, Mr. Lexon!" Genos, who trusted Lexon for saving his life, didn't hesitate to say the name.

"Then could you let me meet Dr. Kuseno? I'm quite interested in high-tech gadgets," Lexon told a casual lie just to get in contact with Dr. Kuseno.

"This..." No matter how much Genos trusted his savior, he wouldn't easily agree to this, as it involved Dr. Kuseno's privacy. He couldn't make the decision himself.

"I'll have to ask Dr. Kuseno, Mr. Lexon," Genos answered.

"Fine," Lexon had no objection.

"Then I'll head back now to find Dr. Kuseno for repairs," Genos said. "Farewell, Mr. Lexon and Saitama-sensei."

"Yeah," Saitama and Lexon nodded together.

*Knock, knock, knock!* Shortly after Genos left, a knocking sound suddenly came from outside the door.

Lexon used his perception to scan the area.

'Tornado's sister, Fubuki?'
