Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: First Meeting with Mereoleona

"Hey~ You guys, why can't you take a joke? Can we both step back and let me in?"

Snap!

A flash of lightning burst before Adam — his response was simple:

You wish!

"Hmph! I'm giving you some face. Do you really think I'm afraid of you?"

Adam's expression darkened. "This damn powerful dungeon... if I don't use some hard tactics on him, will he really think I'm soft?"

He sprinted toward his body, flying out of the strong dungeon. He pierced through the water magic barrier and returned to his physical form.

"It's still comfortable to be back!"

Adam stretched his body and lightly swung his arm — the water magic shield shattered with a bang!

Water splashed over him, drenching him completely. His soaked hair clung to his face, hiding his fierce eyes.

"I'll just have some fun with you!"

Adam charged forward at full speed, catching his opponent completely off guard.

Who would've thought Adam would be so reckless?!

Storm!

Lightning and thunder crashed around him. Blue lightning as thick as an arm struck Adam directly. The merciless storm twisted his expression, and the rain — mixed with blood — crackled down like acid, threatening to corrode him.

"Dragon Blast! Electric Eyes Intimidation! Telekinesis!"

Adam unleashed his full power — pure offense, no defense!

The lightning was devoured by flames, the storm shattered by his piercing gaze, and the blood rain halted by telekinesis.

Even nature's fury couldn't crush him. With the enhanced strength from the Perfect Dragon Power, Adam grew more ferocious the longer the fight went on.

Found it!

A white light gate appeared before his eyes, and the storm intensified — as if the dungeon itself wanted to grind him to dust.

"Come on! Hahaha!"

Adam laughed maniacally and dove headfirst into the white light.

The furious dragon's power was so overwhelming that even the heavens had to yield!

He didn't attack further. It was hopeless. That lunatic had already rushed into the white light.

The world spun violently.

Adam felt dizzy. He really didn't want to experience this kind of entry into the Dungeon again.

"It's so damn dark!"

Inside the pitch-black palace, Adam couldn't see a thing. Just as he was about to conjure a flame to light the path, the dragon-shaped jade pendant on his chest flared with blood-red light.

"Just what I needed."

The pendant forcefully dragged him forward — before he could even react.

Every step triggered a trap, leaving him no time to dodge. The pendant seemed even more impatient than he was.

Flames!

Ice!

Puppets!

Purple Thunder!

"Even the dungeon hadn't been this brutal." Adam couldn't fight back — the pendant yanked his neck so hard he could barely breathe.

"The opposite of steadfast… the emperor stays calm, while the eunuch's in a panic!"

Meanwhile, in the Witch's Forest, Asta and the others were battling Fana, one of the Three Eye of the Midnight Sun generals.

"Let's have a good chat! Why do you keep saying you're desperate? Why is that?"

That idiot Asta actually tried to reason with Fana — a woman controlled by ancient magic, reliving the agony of the elves' extinction.

Pain that wasn't even her own memory twisted her mind, driving her magic into a frenzy.

"Salamander's Breath!"

The salamander, once small as a gecko, now expanded monstrously — its flames nearly devouring Asta whole.

"You humans are worthless!"

Elsewhere, Fanzell, Asta's "master" and his former student Mars, along with the sly and sleazy-looking Ladros, confronted each other in the western Witch's Forest.

"Yohoho! Isn't this our teacher? How did you end up as the witch's lapdog?"

Ladros sneered.

"Mars, Ladros… you really went through with that plan!"

Human experimentation in the Diamond Kingdom — weapons of war crafted by lunatics.

"I'll atone for what I've done!"

Fanzell roared, determination blazing in his eyes.

A battle between master and disciples was about to erupt.

Inside the Dungeon…

"There's light ahead!"

The jade pendant yanked Adam out of the dark corridor and suddenly stopped. He tumbled to the ground face-first.

"What the hell…"

Adam groaned, dragging himself up. The traps he'd triggered left him looking half-dead — hair tangled, clothes shredded, and covered in grime.

The room around him glowed dark blue, surrounded by stone walls. At its center was a pool of light-green water — like a hot spring.

It couldn't be that kind of coincidence... right?

Definitely a trap.

"The atmosphere here makes controlling mana smoother," he muttered.

With water magic flowing through him, Adam felt invincible — like a fish in water.

He walked over, dipped his toes in, and sighed. It really was a hot spring.

"Whatever, I'll just enjoy it."

He stripped down and sank into the water. It only reached his waist, but the warmth soothed him immediately.

"Comfortable~"

His body relaxed as if nourished by the magic itself. Adam closed his eyes in bliss.

"Evil dragon! Take my punch!"

ROAR!

The entire chamber quaked. Adam jolted awake as an enormous dark-blue dragon from a nearby passage.

Behind it — a red-haired woman, her body wrapped in fierce flames, drove her fiery fist straight into the dragon's face.

The dragon crashed into the pool with a deafening splash.

"Holy shit!"

Adam leapt out of the water — naked and panicked.

Thump!

The dragon hit the spring again, foamed at the mouth, and fainted.

"Hahaha! Still dare to run, huh?!"

The red-haired woman laughed — wild and confident.

This powerhouse was Mereoleona Vermillion, eldest daughter of the noble Vermillion family, sister to the famous brothers, and head of the Crimson Lion Kings!

"Hey! There's a man here?"

Adam froze, locking eyes with the fierce woman.

She wore a black top and white training pants — simple, but her athletic figure made them look scandalous.

She's definitely got twin energy…

"Boy, could you at least put on some clothes? Not that there's much to see…"

Her smirk was pure provocation.

Adam's face twitched. Really? You sneak-attack someone and then mock them?

"It's over… my clothes are in pieces."

He picked up a palm-sized scrap of fabric from the ground. Useless.

"For you!"

Mereoleona dragged the unconscious dragon out of the pool and tossed a white robe from her bag toward him.

"Thanks…"

Smart move, Adam.

He put it on quickly — at least he wasn't naked anymore.

Never go into battle empty-handed!

His grimoire burst open, glowing with radiant power. Pages fluttered out and surrounded the fallen dragon.

"This long worm'll taste great roasted," Mereoleona muttered, cracking her knuckles.

Before she could move, a page from Adam's grimoire sealed the dragon into a flaming sigil.

The Dragon Follower of the Capital!

"Boy," Mereoleona growled, "what exactly do you think you're doing?"
