In the space created by Nahama, Evil Adam and Mereoleona were enduring the torment of both ice and fire.
Two miniature suns appeared in the sky, raising the temperature to over a thousand degrees. Mereoleona's magic coat began to melt, but her Mana Zone expanded further, making the heat even more unbearable.
"Damn it… Heat Wrist!" Mereoleona began searching for the edge of the space, trying to break it open with brute force.
But no matter how she moved, she and Adam always remained trapped at the core of the dimension.
Nahama's goal was clear — to trap them both until they died.
Evil Adam's dragon body rendered him immune to the heat, but then the temperature plummeted. A storm of blizzards and frost swept through, freezing the air solid.
The environment shifted rapidly between extremes. Fire and ice alternated endlessly, and even the two of them struggled to endure it.
"Adam, what do we do now?" Mereoleona slammed her fist into the ground in frustration.
Being unable to use her full strength infuriated her.
"Don't worry, honey. I'll handle it," Evil Adam said calmly — though inside, he was on the verge of exploding.
Evil Adam's temper was worse than ever, but with his woman by his side, he could only pretend to be composed.
"…What did you just call me?" Mereoleona blinked.
She had never heard anyone call her that before. It didn't sound like a compliment.
"Same thing as 'my wife,'" Adam explained with a grin.
"Hey, brat! You've gotten bolder since you split! When did I become your wife, huh?"
She tried to grab his ear, but Adam dodged effortlessly.
He lifted her chin with one hand and smirked. "Woman, being too voilent doesn't suit you."
"Move it." Mereoleona shoved him back, flustered.
Her heart raced from the sudden assertiveness of this man.
Why did he seem even more attractive now?
The temperature inside the space kept rising faster and faster.
"I'm fine," Mereoleona said through gritted teeth.
Adam suddenly pulled her into his arms. His voice dropped, firm and commanding. "Woman, from now on… leave it to me."
The tone was so sure, so absolute, that Mereoleona couldn't help but smile faintly and relax into his embrace.
So warm…
"I've broken free from the chains of yesterday. Now, I am truly myself," Adam murmured, his aura crackling.
He was furious — not at her, but at himself. So much time had passed, and he still hadn't gathered all twelve Zodiac talismans. It was humiliating.
"If I had the Rabbit's power, this damn trap wouldn't even matter…"
The frustration boiled over. His anger triggered a violent surge of power, distorting the very space around him.
A sharp crack echoed through the air — and suddenly, Adam was sucked into a tiny space-time rift.
"Adam!" Mereoleona shouted, frozen in shock. For the first time, she hated herself for being powerless — unable even to protect the man she loved.
"The Mana Zone… full release!" Mereoleona's entire body ignited.
Purple-red flames erupted, swallowing everything — ice, fire, and even the space itself.
With a thunderous bang, Nahama was blasted backward, her eyes wide with disbelief.
That flame… it can even consume demonic power? Impossible!
"You'll pay the price," Mereoleona growled, her eyes blazing.
She kicked off the ground and appeared before Nahama in an instant. Her fists — large, fierce, and unstoppable — rained down like meteors.
"Let me go— I— ahhh!"
"Go to hell!" Mereoleona's final punch pierced Nahama's chest. The demon screamed as her body was engulfed in purgatorial fire.
"Adam…" Mereoleona whispered. But before she could mourn, hordes of low- and mid-level devils began crawling out from the Gate of the Underworld.
Most had been devoured by Ladin, but several had escaped.
"ROAR!"
The grotesque creatures began to rampage. Mereoleona's gaze hardened. Flames reignited around her body as she charged into battle once again.
"Finally… out."
Evil Adam collapsed onto a cobblestone street, drenched in sweat and pale as a ghost.
He'd just escaped a space-time rift. Luckily, his Rabbit Talisman had awakened in that desperate moment — otherwise, the Tiger's power would have pulled him back.
At least… he was alive.
"Where am I?"
He looked up at the blue sky and summoned his golden grimoire. The fourth page glowed faintly — the Rabbit's power had been activated.
Which meant… he could travel through time and space.
But where had he ended up?
"Who's that?"
"He must be a beggar."
"A peasant with no mana, probably."
"Why do people like that even exist? If I were him, I'd throw myself off a rooftop."
That tone. That arrogance. That disgust. It was all too familiar.
Adam looked up — the royal capital of Clover Kingdom lay before him.
This… this is the past.
"Are you looking for death?"
He shouted instinctively, startling everyone nearby.
"Get the Magic Knights! Drive this lowborn away!"
"Rabbit of Agility… carry me through the footsteps of time."
In an instant, Adam vanished. The bystanders gawked in disbelief.
"W-what just happened?!"
"Did he just… disappear?"
A young Morgan and Yami arrived moments later, both wearing the robes of the Grey Deer squad.
"The guy was here a second ago! Then he just vanished into thin air!" one of the townsfolk cried.
Yami grabbed Morgan by the arm and muttered, "Forget this. Let's go report to Captain Julius."
"Wait, our duty's to protect civilians!" Morgan protested, but Yami dragged him off.
Adam reappeared in the Spade Kingdom — but something was off.
"Why isn't the Bronze Gate here?"
He looked around. The landscape was different, unfamiliar.
"Could this be… a parallel dimension? The only way back must be to dispel the Tiger's power."
He didn't linger. Traveling back to the Clover Kingdom, he arrived at the Black Bulls' base — empty. Not a trace of them yet existed.
So this is before they were formed…
After wandering the capital, Adam suddenly heard screams.
"Run! The eldest daughter of the Rozlei family — the curse has struck again!"
Countless thorny vines shot up into the air. In the center of the chaos, a young girl struggled — her blue hair tangled, her eyes filled with fear.
"Charlotte?" Adam moved in instantly.
"Dragon Blast!"
He controlled his power carefully, blasting open the vine cocoon. Light poured in as young Charlotte Rosely blinked in shock at the handsome stranger standing before her.
"Who… are you?" she whispered.
"Your Highness, the Prince." Adam burned away the surrounding vines.
The blue petals turned red like roses, and Charlotte's cheeks flushed like an unripe apple.
He lifted her gently in his arms and leapt free of the cursed zone.
"Is this… a curse?" he asked softly.
"Yes," Charlotte replied, trying to sound calm. But her heart was pounding.
"You're strong. You'll break it one day," Adam said with a warm smile as he set her down.
"I have to go now."
"W-wait—where are you going?" she stammered.
He placed a hand on her shoulder. "Somewhere far away. But we'll meet again soon."
He turned to activate the Rabbit's power once more.
"Wait!" Charlotte shouted after him. "What's your name?"
"Adam."
"I'm Charlotte!"
"I'll remember that." As Adam disappeared in a flash of white light, Charlotte stood frozen, her heart racing.
Moments later, Yami and Morgan arrived at the scene.
"Oi, Ice Queen, what happened here?" Yami asked.
"…No comment," Charlotte said coolly — though her flushed cheeks told another story.
