Sangra sent a barrage of blood arrows at Ellen which all got consumed by black holes, then made a war scythe out of blood jabbing it towards Ellen like a spear into her stomach. "Reversal Void" A ripple in space around her that opened up a void causing Sangra to quickly back off, the void then turned into a miniature orb that Ellen sent flying towards Sangra shredding her arm off. "Pact of The Outer Circulatory System" Her arm grew back as she glared at Ellen, "Materialization of Blood Goddesses Accursed Hounds!" She barely got the last work out as Ellen dematerialized her jaw. Then a bunch of spirally and abstract blood hounds came out of her back and towards Ellen, Ellen got hit by it and lost both of her arms, a leg, her jaw, a chunk of her stomach, and a bunch of dog-bite like holes in her body.
Yet her voice somehow still said, "Vereta's Rewind Blessing," and regenerated almost instantly. "Damage Reversal Blessing: Left Eye for a Head," Ellen said as her eye flew out of her head and hit Sangra in the face, making her head blow up. Sangra's body started falling, then splooshed into the water with a big splash.
Hirune was thinking as to what incantations she could use. The longer they were the more powerful they seemed to be, so she should probably keep any incantation she tries short. But what incantations could work with her powers? Then her eyes sparkled, remembering that when she unlocked her powers, she summoned a small lizard out of her shadow, so maybe there were incantations for that. She would figure that out when she got back to the base, if she remembered of course.
As Ellen relaxed, A giant geyser like stream of blood raised out of the ocean, Sangre rising out of it, her face looking extremely veiny from regenerating. "Did you forget that if there's any blood near me, I'll automatically regenerate? I just needed to take a second to do so!" While Ellen was still caught off guard Sangra sent a powerful shot of blood at her head. As Hirune watched she panicked, she had to try something, she muttered, "Devour Distance," while staring at the blood that was being sent at Ellen. The Devourer Jaws suddenly devoured, then spit her out close enough to the blood where she could take a blow to the left leg for Ellen, blowing her leg clean off, but stopping the blood shot. Hirune screamed in pain as she started falling, but she quickly muttered the incantation she just accidently did again towards Tundra, and the Devourer Jaws sent her to Tundra again.
Sangra kept on staring at Hirune in frustration, "You! You're ne-!" She gets cut off by Ellen making a black hole inside of her head for a split second, her heads skin flapping in the air as she fell into the ocean again.
Ellen appeared in front of Hirune in a blink, then crouched down to be at the same height as her as she leaned on Tundra. "You've made an interesting development. But that's a bit advanced for you right now from what I'm seeing," Ellen said while looking at a Hirune smiling in exhaustion, barely keeping her eyes dilated. "Rest up. I'll give you some simple incantations you can practice back at the base." Before she dozed off, she managed to say, "Won't be necessary."
When she woke up, she was on the couch of the base, she almost instantly sat up and looked around to see who's around her right now. Yet she sees no one, she was hopping at least Tundra or Ellen, she wasn't fully sure why, she just wanted to have someone that she liked to be around her. She sighed and stood up, then felt as she was falling quickly looking at her left leg, then she saw it was there again, she sighed in relief. Then, completely ignoring the shark tail she stepped on because she couldn't care less about Kala right now.
She walks down the stairs into the basement and looks for the section in the bookshelves of A1 row 5; after roughly 10 minutes of searching she found it, then she started tracing her pointer finger from her left hand down the spine of each book as she read them, her right hand holding onto the ladder. She eventually found the book that was supposed to have incantations that work for her, she picked it out and put it in her pocket. She threw herself off of the ladder she climbed on, then as soon as her feet hit the floor she hopped, using the momentum to go backwards and put her feet back down before going past the stairs that go upwards, one foot behind the other to not fall. Then she slowly walked up the stairs, counting each one as she pushed against the wall, when she counted 16 the wall went in a little.
She pushed the wall in, then closed it up again after stepping in and walked down the hallway, back to the scriptures she could barely read that spiraled up and down the room. Kind of like how the idea that she had to memorize the incantations she was reading spiraled up and down her head. 'Why does this book have 1,000 pages? I don't remember this being a dictionary!' Hirune thought as she kept on reading.
She could barely remember 'Devour Distance' already how was she meant to memorize all of these? She shook her head; she only needed a couple of them memorized right now, like maybe 3-4 of them not counting 'Devour Distance.' She read a couple of them, she thought she should memorize 2 short incantations, one medium, and one long incantation so that she can slowly get used to this but also have a last resort one if needed.
She decided the short incantations she'd memorize are 2 very simple incarnations, 'Snake', and 'Hound.' She picked snake because it sounded cool, no other reason to it, and hound because the hound ability Sangra used was powerful, so maybe when she decided her route it would develop the incantation. She wasn't even sure if that was a thing, but even if it wasn't it could at least be useful somehow.
She started to read medium length incantations and decided that the most useful sounding one was, 'Revert Insanity.' She'd noticed that whenever she fights, she tends to get ahead of herself either during or after the battle, so 'Revert Insanity' seemed like a good choice to keep her head in the game throughout the entire battle.
Then came the long incantation, this one was certainly going to be a pain to memorize, but it was necessary to have a last resort Ace up her sleeve. She took her time thinking and reading. Considering all of her options, then all of the sudden she got it, 'Forsaken Realm.' The name made it seem like it could be used as a place to trap her enemies if needed. Like a break until she figured out a strategy to win or something, or a place to hide in if she was ever on a sneaky mission or something like that.
She put the book down to her left, writing down the incantations on a sticky note, then she pulled out the pamphlet that had all of the 8 routes in it and stuck it to the back. She then started reading the pamphlet too, after all this could give her a clue as to how she wants to use her powers to make them grow in a certain direction.
The first route is Strategic, which as the name suggests, allows your powers to be more strategic in how they work. Certain powers start to work more like trip wires, and others work like smoke grenades and other similar things. The second route is Angel, which basically allows you to fly, or attempt to reach deity status, this route focusing on healing and support for yourself and others, the few offensive ways you can use this route hitting hard. The third was to be expected, Devil. Devil was basically the reverse of Angel, but they could both lead to deity status still. The fourth is Sea Beast, which all of the children of Baleine the goddess of the sea are instantly locked to since birth. Like Kala for example she was instantly in that route from birth, which explains her shark tail. Most people in the Sea Beast route had a feature that a sea creature has. The fifth route was the Witch route, which is what Namulenza was and the default setting of her powers. The witch route specialized in raw power, and tactical use of powers. So, kind of like a combination of Strategic and Devil, but with the ability to make fake things. The sixth route is Visionary, which basically gives you a multitude of special eyes that you can swap through, this route is known as the most useless because most powers you gain outside of your route choice give you special eyes so you can swap through your powers. The seventh route is the Manipulator route; this route is quite misleading by the name. Sure, it lets you manipulate people, which is what people consider the route to allow you to do. Most victims of this route are the ones manipulated by the power to do certain things but eh the route is unpredictable so they could be forced by it to be fishing one second then be a father of five that's pregnant as a man the next. The eight route is Weapon, which just lets you make weapons. Depending on your proficiency with this you can either be useless or extremely powerful so it's a gamble.
Hirune thought for a second. The pamphlet was supposed to have info on how to pursue these routes but all it said was what the routes were and what they did. She rolled her eyes and put the pamphlet in her pocket, then stood up and did a little run down the passageway back outside onto the staircase and upstairs. Looking around for Ellen to ask her where the next mystery is located, then as she's about to finally get upstairs she feels a sharp burning pain in her chest. She looked down and saw bright red fire burning through her skin around her heart, but why was she- Then it struck her, Sol was the one doing this. Was it because she didn't give up pursuing the mysteries behind Namulenza and Demonia? Well whatever reason it was it was obvious it was him, she focused up and said, "Forsaken Realm!"
A darkness consumed her and all of the sudden she was in the same space where she met Namulenza at, the destroyed version of it. She quickly looked down, and the fire was gone, but her skin around that area was so burnt that her scorched heart was visible, and weakly beating. Her breath was shaky as she looked around for some way to recover, then she saw the gates were open and stepped out. She looked around a little more, the outside being like a graveyard, another bunch of gates surrounding the building.
Directly to her left is a jacuzzi with light green water in it, as she looked around more a voice said, "That jacuzzi heals, just get in it." She looked around, her legs already slowly giving out, but saw no one, she leaned on the jacuzzi, then fell in backwards headfirst. She panicked for a moment and quickly managed to get her head out her body suddenly working just fine. She gasped for air as she looked down and saw that she healed almost instantly.
She got out of the jacuzzi drenched, then she gasped and quickly pulled a now destroyed pamphlet of the routes out of her pocket. She threw it aside onto the floor, as she was about to leave some of the wheats in the grass wrapped around the pamphlet, then turned into a reddish ash, the pamphlet now fixed. She picked it up again, then looked at the ground, there were less wheats now. She looked back at the jacuzzi, then at the wheats. Considering how the wheats disappeared after one use, it'd make sense if everything in this realm was limited to a degree. She walked back inside and put the pamphlet onto the throne on the side of the long table that was still intact, just like the throne.
Hirune thought for a moment, thinking about exploring the place, but at the same time it seemed huge so it might take too long. But she needed a way to guarantee her safety from Sol when she came back out of this place.
It was unlikely for him to burn her slowly the next time she came out.
