Chapter 2 - :The tournament begins

‎After the students had been taught, they advanced back to the training field. "I called you here because I want to tell you something important. The reason I have been recently recruited as a teacher is for this same reason. Today you are going to begin a tournament that will last four years. This is why we made each class have 16 students. It will take a week to conduct a match," Nathan explained. "It's gonna take a few years to finish. How is this even possible!" a student exclaimed. "In swordsmanship, there are five ranks you need to obtain to master the art of it. First, we have the lowest rank, a swordsman. The rank after that is the sword specialist. The rank after that is the sword expert. The rank after that is the sword arts user. And the highest rank of all is the sword arts expert. I am a sword expert , it is one of the duties of a sword expert to conduct your examination, so the first match is going to begin now with Matero and Davis," Nathan said as both men fell into place. They held their swords, waiting for the signal to begin the match. "Here are the rules: if your opponent is able to point his sword at any part of your body without you being able to defend, then you will have 5 points, but some parts of the body will give you more points. For instance, your opponent pointing at your head, leg, neck, and chest will give you 7 points, and you need 20 points to advance to the next match. With that said, the match begins," Nathan declared. Davis charged at Matero as he swung his sword recklessly, leaving his ribsection unguarded. Matero then attacked that unguarded place. "Davis gains 7 points while Matero gains 5 points," Nathan declared. To Matero's amazement, Davis had attacked his head using his unguarded ribsection as a distraction. Davis had carefully used the rules of the game to his advantage. Both men took a few steps backward to strategize their next move. "If I fall for that trick again, then I will be close to losing," Matero thought Matero figured out a way he could block Davis's attacks, Davis's technique required a lot of energy to be carried out, so he could also use this as an advantage to wear him out. Matero then ran to attack Davis. Meanwhile, Davis continued his technique, this time as Davis exposed his unguarded waist, Matero launched a fake attack on it but turned to block the attack that was heading for his head. Both men tried to overpower each other, but Matero was stronger than him and overpowered him to the ground. Matero then pointed his sword at Davis's neck. "Davis gains 7 points while Matero gains 12 points," Nathan declared. Matero then stood in a fixed position while Davis took a few steps backward. Matero planned to dodge Davis's next attack and land one of his own. Davis then threw his sword over Matero, landing at his back as he ran towards Matero. This completely distracted Matero, who was curious to figure out Davis's plan. Davis then picked up his sword, attacking Matero's neck, but due to Matero's sharp reflexes, he blocked him and used his knee to hit Davis 's stomach, which made him fall to the ground. Matero then pointed his sword at Davis 's neck. "Matero has acquired a point of 19, and Davis is 7 points," Nathan said. Both men immediately fought in attack-andblock type of fighting, trying to wear each other out. This continued for a long time, but Davis had become tired and was not able to keep this up. Just one more point was enough for Matero to win, but there was nothing he could do, and he fell to the ground as Matero pointed his sword at Davis 's head. "Matero wins with 26 points, and Davis is 7 points," Nathan said. "How could I, a member of the family of the legendary swordsmen, be defeated so easily? I am truly pathetic," Davis thought to himself. Davis had always been the weakest member of the family of the legendary swordsmen. He was disowned by his parents when his younger sister, Elvis, proved to be stronger than him, and yet he could not live up to their expectations. "I will end your suffering," Matero raised his sword to cut Davis 's neck. "Matero, don't do this!" Sting shouted as he threw his sword, hitting Matero's away. "Sting behaved like a sword specialist. He was able to unlock his hidden potential. He is truly amazing," Nathan thought. "I was told by Santiago to end the match if something like this happens, but I guess the match has already ended, and this could improve Sting 's abilities. "I need to execute the Will of the sword." Matero returned from school to see bloodshed on the floor and walls. "Dad, Mum, where are you?" Matero then saw the bodies of his parents on the floor. His parents were dead, and Matero started crying. The swordsmen that had killed his parents were not gone yet, and when they heard Matero 's voice, they were determined to kill him. "Hey, kid, don't blame us for killing your parents. We were just executing the will of the sword," one of them said. "The will of the sword?" Matero said.
