Chapter 118 - Ch-118 Assassination.

Gojo was asleep in his hotel room, lying still on the bed, his breathing slow and even. The faint creak of wood and the distant murmur of the people outside filtered in through the window, but inside the room, everything felt eerily quiet.

Blueno and Kumadori stood nearby, watching him carefully.

They were inside the hidden 'Door Space' created by Blueno, a silent, invisible dimension overlapping reality itself. Though they were physically present in the same room, their existence remained concealed—untouchable, undetectable. Even Gojo, with all his abilities, could not sense them as long as they remained within that virtual space.

They waited.

Watching.

Confirming.

Blueno's sharp gaze lingered on Gojo's unmoving form, studying every subtle rise and fall of his chest. No tension. No awareness. No sign of deception.

He's completely asleep…

Kumadori leaned slightly forward, his expression tightening as he observed Gojo for a few more seconds. Then, in a low voice, he said, "YOYOI! We must go. He is totally asleep. It is the best time for us to assassinate him."

Blueno gave a small nod, still watching Gojo closely, making sure there was no trick—no feigned sleep, no hidden awareness. Satisfied, he slowly raised his hand.

Then—

A door.

It formed silently, its outline carving itself into existence like an invisible boundary being forced open. Blueno pushed it, and the circular gate parted without a sound.

In the next moment, both Blueno and Kumadori stepped out from that doorway, emerging into the room as if they had always been there. The door hovered briefly in the air behind them before beginning to fade, leaving nothing but stillness—and a sleeping target—between them and their mission.

As soon as both of them came out, being agents of CP9, Blueno did not waste even a single moment. His body moved with trained precision as he immediately used Finger Pistol to attack Gojo. His aim was direct—Gojo's back neck—exposed and vulnerable as Gojo lay with his back facing them.

The attack was lethal.

If it connected, it would be more than enough to kill Gojo instantly.

The air itself seemed to tighten as Blueno's finger shot forward, cutting through the silence—

But just as his finger came within inches of Gojo's neck, it suddenly stopped.

Not by flesh.

Not by bone.

But by something invisible.

It felt as if his finger had struck an empty wall—an unseen barrier that separated Gojo's body from the attack. The impact was subtle, yet absolute.

Blueno's eyes shrank instantly.

Impossible…

A cold realization crept in.

He's awake—!

He immediately tried to retreat, muscles tensing to pull back—but before he could move—

Gojo moved first.

Without even opening his eyes, still in his sleeping position, Gojo's body rotated slightly in the air as if gravity itself had loosened its hold on him. In the same fluid motion, his hand shot out and caught Blueno's wrist mid-action.

Firm.

Unshakable.

Gojo was still wearing his blindfold.

His face showed irritation, his voice sharp and filled with raw annoyance as he shouted, "You bastard—who disturbs someone's sleep in the night?"

And in the very next instant—

His other hand, coated in Armament Haki, slammed forward.

The punch connected directly with Blueno's face.

A deafening crack echoed through the room as the sheer force of the blow sent Blueno crashing downward. The floor beneath him shattered instantly, unable to withstand the impact, wood and debris exploding outward as his body was driven straight through it.

The hotel room trembled violently for a brief moment.

And then—

Blueno fell.

Right through the broken floor.

Directly into the dining area below.

Below Gojo's room was the hotel's dining hall, and Blueno's body came crashing down into it with overwhelming force, sending fragments of wood and dust scattering in all directions.

The commotion was impossible to ignore.

People screamed.

Chairs scraped.

Glasses shattered.

Tonight, many people were still awake.

It was the night of Aqua Laguna—a phenomenon that occurred annually, drawing both fear and curiosity. Some wanted to witness it with their own eyes, some wanted to compare it to previous years, wondering if it would be more dangerous this time.

Because of this, most of the people who had taken refuge in the hotel from the lower levels of the city were still awake.

Some were in their rooms.

Many were gathered in the dining hall.

And all of them saw it—

The ceiling suddenly breaking apart.

Debris falling.

And a figure crashing down onto the ground.

But they couldn't see clearly.

Not yet.

Because the entire area was quickly swallowed by a thick cloud of dust, obscuring everything within it.

As soon as Blueno was punched down to the lower floor, the shattered wood still creaking from the impact, Kumadori turned his gaze toward Gojo.

With his usual exaggerated movement, his body swaying dramatically, he declared, "YOYOI, assassination failed! It is all my fault—I should commit seppuku to atone for my sins!"

Without hesitation, he drew his sword and swung it toward his own neck.

The blade struck—

And stopped.

A dull metallic sound rang out as it failed to pierce his skin. Whether it was due to his instinctive use of Iron Body or a reflex born from long training, his body had hardened on its own. The edge of the sword could not even break through.

Kumadori froze for a moment, then his expression fell into visible despair.

"Oh… my body does not listen to me," he said, his voice heavy with exaggerated sorrow. "It does not want to die…"

A faint breeze stirred through the broken room, carrying dust from the shattered floor.

Gojo stared at him for a brief second.

Then completely ignored him.

What a joke…

Casually, Gojo extended his hand.

From a short distance away, his sword trembled slightly—then lifted off the ground, slicing through the air as it flew straight into his grasp. He caught it cleanly, holding it by the sheath with effortless precision.

Turning his head slightly toward Kumadori, Gojo spoke, his tone calm yet edged with irritation, "If you're so desperate to commit seppuku… then I'll be happy enough to grant your wish."

A brief silence followed.

Then—

His grip shifted.

His hand moved to the hilt.

In the next instant, Gojo vanished.

The air cracked softly from the sudden burst of speed as he reappeared in motion, executing a one-sword-style, sword-drawing technique. His movement was smooth, almost invisible, the blade beginning to leave its sheath in a precise, lethal arc aimed directly at Kumadori.

But just as he closed the distance—

Kumadori disappeared.

A sharp displacement of air echoed faintly across the room.

He had used Shave—one of the Six Styles.

In less than a blink, Kumadori reappeared on the other side of the room, his figure stabilizing as the disturbed air settled behind him, narrowly avoiding Gojo's attack.

As soon as Gojo perceived this through his Observation Haki—his eyes still covered by the blindfold—a faint smile appeared on his face.

"Interesting."

Without another word, he reached up and removed his blindfold.

The cloth slipped away, revealing his eyes as they locked onto Kumadori's position across the room. There was a glint of curiosity in his gaze now, sharp and focused.

Looking directly at him, Gojo said, "Your movement technique is very interesting… and good." He tilted his head slightly, casual as ever. "How about this? I'll let your offense of trying to assassinate me be bygones… if you teach me those techniques used by you and that man willingly."

His meaning was clear—Finger Pistol, Shave, Iron Body.

Across from him, Kumadori adjusted his stance. Holding his staff in one hand, he extended his other palm outward toward Gojo, legs spread in his usual dramatic posture. His body swayed with controlled intensity as he responded, "YOYOI, this is not possible! These are exclusive techniques that can only be used by the Marines and us World Government agents!"

A faint pause lingered in the air.

Gojo shrugged lightly.

"Well, it can't be helped." His tone remained casual, almost amused. "But if I'm not wrong… those fighting styles of yours are quite engraved into your movements, right?"

A small smile formed.

"What I need to do… is just pressurize you with my full strength. Then you'll continuously perform those techniques again and again… and I'll be able to master them."

Simple enough.

The moment his words ended—

Gojo moved.

His figure blurred as he immediately launched an attack toward Kumadori. But just like before, Kumadori used Shave at the last moment, vanishing from his spot and reappearing elsewhere in the room, narrowly dodging the strike.

But this time—

Gojo was ready.

He had been waiting.

Waiting for that exact movement.

The instant Kumadori disappeared, Gojo adjusted mid-motion, his awareness locking onto Kumadori's new position. His hand shifted slightly—

"Blue."

A dense, glowing sphere materialized in the air.

In an instant, a terrifying force of attraction erupted from it. The room reacted violently—beds, broken wood, debris, even loose objects were dragged toward the sphere as if pulled by an invisible gravity.

The air itself seemed to warp.

Kumadori's body jerked as the force caught him.

He resisted, muscles straining, feet digging into the floor as he tried to hold his position. The ground beneath him cracked under the pressure, his body trembling against the overwhelming pull.

What… is this—?!

And then—

Gojo released it.

The Blue sphere vanished abruptly.

The force disappeared.

For a split second, everything went still.

And in that same instant—

Gojo was already above him.

Before Kumadori could recover, before his body could even respond to the sudden change—

Gojo struck.

His sword came down from slightly above, the motion precise and heavy with force. The impact landed cleanly, driving Kumadori downward with overwhelming power.

The floor shattered.

Wood splintered and exploded outward as Kumadori was sent crashing through it—just like Blueno before him—his body breaking through to the lower floor as debris rained down behind him.
