I did not speak again after hearing their voices.
Instead, I placed my hand against Yan Mo's shoulder and pushed myself down carefully from his hold, landing back on the ground despite the discomfort in my leg, my expression already returning to its usual calm as if nothing had happened.
Yan Mo frowned slightly.
"They are coming," he said.
"I know," I replied.
My voice was steady.
There was no panic in it.
I adjusted my stance, ignoring the dull pain in my leg as I looked toward the direction of the approaching lights.
"Let them come," I added.
My tone turned colder.
"They came this far, so they might as well finish what they started."
