Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 - Need (1)

It was a day when the sun was high in the sky. As usual in summer, Ms. Sun, who was quite successful at being annoying, did not hesitate to send her loving, sweat-inducing sunbeams to the earth.

The air was so hot that the asphalt shimmered in waves, expressing the city's unique restlessness. However, the shouts and chaotic sounds rising from the large windows of the bank were more than enough to pierce through this lazy silence on the street.

Four men, their faces hidden by black stockings, were hastily filling sacks with money, their guns gleaming in their hands. In a panic, they were shouting at each other as if scolding one another.

"Faster! We need to get out of here before the cops arrive!" one of the men yelled, the nervous tension in his voice becoming more pronounced.

The other man, who was on lookout at the door, was anxiously scanning the outside. But at that moment, his eyes caught a movement on the street; first a shadow, then the dignified and regular sound of heels.

The woman's steps grew in his ears, echoing loudly. A red silhouette, shining under the sun, was slowly approaching the bank's entrance. The lookout, with an instinctive fear, shouted inside.

"Someone's coming! Wait... is that...?!"

The lookout couldn't make out the woman's identity due to the reflection of the light. The woman stopped at the door at that moment.

As she took her first step inside, the dim light of the bank revealed the golden details gleaming on her jacket. She wore a red, military-style jacket; the tassels on her shoulders seemed to be woven from golden threads. It was buttoned up with a meticulousness that didn't suit the ostentation of someone carrying a weapon. With her tan pants and thin-heeled boots, she displayed a balanced discipline.

But what was most striking were her eyes: they shone with a dark, almost blackish-purple color. Her gaze was sharp, carrying the calm patience of a predator locked on its prey. The silver details on the cap on her short, golden-yellow hair glinted for a moment, and a single word became readable: Ms. Bull.

When the leader of the robbers noticed the woman, his fingers loosened so much that he almost dropped his gun. His eyes roamed up and down the red-jacketed figure; a trembling sound escaped his lips without him realizing it:

"That's... that's Ms. Bullet!"

The woman took a few more steps toward them, tilting her head slightly. She spoke in a cold, clear voice:

"Are you going somewhere?"

There was no threat in the sentence, but her tone carried a heavier weight than the guns. The robbers froze in place for a moment. The woman slowly drew the pistol from her belt.

Every movement was fluid, careful. The click she made while cocking the pistol made everyone in the bank hold their breath.

When they reached the back door, they jumped into a nearby vehicle and started the engine. One of them screamed:

"Drive, quick! Damn it, drive!"

But Ms. Bullet was not one to let them escape. She drew her submachine gun, aiming with cold-blooded composure. Every trigger she pulled targeted the car's tires. When the bullets burst the tires, the vehicle swerved, and the driver, losing control of the steering wheel, crashed into an electric pole with a scream, and the vehicle stopped.

The inside of the bank was silent for a moment. The woman adjusted the gun slung over her shoulder, raising her eyebrows slightly. With a hint of mockery, she murmured, "A robbery in broad daylight... The intelligence level seems to be dropping."

Voices began to rise from outside; first, running feet, then the rapid clicks of cameras. The woman shook her head before turning to the journalists who appeared at the doorway. Although the shadow of her cap hid her eyes, the annoyance on her lips was readable.

"Great," she said with a sincere grunt. "Now we have to deal with the media."

"Another robbery," Yuu said, laughing and shaking his head as he watched the recording of Ms. Bullet catching the robbers.

Velora tilted her head slightly and murmured as she re-watched the same frames:

"It's so stupid, so unplanned, isn't it?"

Yuu smiled and nodded in agreement with Velora's question, which was filled with pure curiosity rather than sarcasm. He zoomed in on the recording and looked carefully at Ms. Bullet's face.

"I heard she has a disciplined, military background. That's why she's so good. But..."

He paused for a moment and pointed to the crowd behind the woman, murmuring.

"...too careless and target-focused."

Yuu wasn't just saying this because she was ignoring the crowd. As he followed the news out of boredom, he had noticed that most of the female superheroes acted with an extreme burst of self-confidence and didn't watch their backs.

"After all... this is Glender, isn't it?"

Yuu remembered this doujinshi. But as far as he could see, it hadn't started yet. This was good because...

"I want her," he murmured. Velora immediately pointed at him and teased.

"You sounded just like a pervert."

Yuu, his cheeks flushing, had trouble answering. He cleared his throat slightly.

"Not in that sense. I... need her by my side."

"That makes two!"

"Shut up!"

He took deep breaths and closed his eyes. He was aware that Velora was teasing him even though she knew what he meant. There was no need for details for now. This was a Doujinshi where heroes were kidnapped and made into sex slaves.

Most of them were captured due to their carelessness.

Yuu was sure he would need well-equipped people with defensive capabilities by his side. Although his life seemed to be saved for now, he couldn't afford to relax. He might have prevented being NTR'd and his women from being raped, but there were worse things.

He could guess that there were threats that would be difficult for him to face alone. Although he didn't know what they were yet, he had to take precautions. For this, he wouldn't mind getting involved with the underworld unethically. He was already partially wealthy.

He had constantly recorded these old memories, which he saw as strange dreams, in a notebook and had roughly shared a few works that didn't exist in this world with Koharu. They had created many works together based on these.

And these works were in high demand! So much so that even Yuu didn't expect it. But he was very pleased.

Half of the money from this naturally belonged to Yuu. Besides the money they earned from this, there was also the money his grandfather had set aside for his university. He could afford to have sufficient equipment at the cost of spending all this.

Just then, Velora's ruthless question came.

"So you're going back to your old delinquent ways?"

This question pierced his heart like an arrow, and he was silent for a while. The past flashed in his mind and disappeared. Then he answered with determination:

"If necessary... it's a small price to pay to protect my family."

Then Yuu, while closing his phone, looked directly at Velora's face. Although his words were full of determination, there was an undecided expression on his face. It was clear he wasn't sure of himself. He changed the subject.

"Never mind that, I was thinking about what you said earlier... Are you sure about this?"

He had opened up to his other half about one of the thoughts that had been eating at him for several hours. The trust Yuu felt for Velora came from the depths of his soul.

Velora smiled.

"Yes. You don't want any harm to come to Yoko, do you? Then there's no reason for you to hesitate."

Yes, the main topic was Yoko. Although he had started the communication to observe the difference between the Doujinshi and reality and to be sure of some things in his own heart, Yuu, who had spoken to Yoko again today, had made his decision to save her.

But Velora's suggestion was not what he had expected.

Yuu scratched his head. "But she has a child. I mean..." he said with uncertainty. Velora's suggestion was for him to have sex with her, and when Yuu had sex with someone, he wanted her to be completely his. In such a situation, he was reluctant to have sex with everyone he saw. Though Yoko seemed like a nice woman...

On the other hand, he knew this. If he didn't make a move in this situation, when the events in the Doujinshi happened, both mother and son would suffer. Yuu honestly didn't want such a kind woman to fall into a corrupt state because of her own lust.

In such a situation, he was aware that if it wasn't for Leo, it could be worse, or if he prevented Leo, nothing might happen at all. He couldn't know, and in this situation, Yuu was more inclined to think of the negative.

Velora, sitting on his lap in her chibi form with childish happiness, returned to her normal form. She cupped his cheeks and smiled, looking into his eyes. As if cutting through his thoughts, she said, "Remember, Subject-kun~! What's important here is your decision," as her ears twitched slightly.

With a sincere smile, she rested her forehead against his. Her bright ruby-colored eyes looked into Yuu's as she whispered: "You know you can't control everything in life, but you also know what you can do to live a happy life. Listen to your desires."

Yuu looked at her with a confused expression. "What... no. I..." he stammered, but he knew the answer within himself. He just wasn't sure what to do with his feelings, with the feeling of betrayal.

Velora caressed his cheeks and, returning to her chibi form, perched on his shoulder.

"Desires, Subject-kun. Always trust your own desires. Even if your logic rejects it. Because when your desires are satisfied, you will find the path to happiness. It was like that in your old life. It's the same in this life."

Thus, without saying anything else, Velora left Yuu with his thoughts. Yuu had to make a decision in this situation. Should he follow Velora's plan and take a woman he had just met into his life? Or should he let it flow?

...

Yuu smiled when he met Yoko again in the evening.

"Good evening," he said with sincerity. Yoko, while closing the window, turned to him and looked at him with a motherly smile. As she asked with a curious tone, the window closed with a thud.

"Good evening, how are you feeling, Yuu-kun?"

Yuu didn't know how to explain his feelings. He was honestly in a mixed state. He had fallen into a spiral of indecision. The reason for this was the dark prison created by the doubts and fears of his past in his mind.

Yoko, seeing his gloomy expression, looked at him with concern. She asked with one hand on her hip:

"Is something wrong? If you have a complaint..."

Yuu shook his head.

"No, no. My health is perfectly fine," he said hastily. Then he thought. It was much harder to explain his thoughts to someone close to him. Come on, no one would believe he had been reincarnated, after all.

He quickly changed the subject with a quick maneuver:

"Look, I was wondering, your uniform is different from the general hospital uniform. Is there a reason for this?"

Although the first thing that came to his mind was that they were from different doujinshi, he couldn't help but wonder about the answer. Yoko, hearing this, sighed lightly and rubbed her temples.

"It's one of the Ministry of Health's ridiculous regulations. They're encouraging new types of uniforms on the grounds that they 'make a positive contribution to patient psychology.' Although it's not mandatory, they give extra money. That's why most people wear them instead of refusing the extra money."

Yuu blinked upon hearing this. He didn't expect such an answer, but this also raised another question:

"Then why don't you wear it, Yoko-neesan?"

Yoko smiled. She stroked Yuu's head as if she had expected this question. With a playful tone, she said, "I'm too old for these kinds of things. Too..." she paused for a moment. Although the word "erotic" crossed her mind, she couldn't say it, so she coughed. "Too tight," she finally said.

Yuu couldn't help but imagine it for a moment. She didn't have an overly fit body like the other women, but... she would undoubtedly have a charm that would attract men. When this thought that made his cheeks flush passed, it didn't take long for him to get an erection.

"I-I understand," he said, pressing his hands between his legs. He laid his erect member down to hide it, which felt a bit uncomfortable. Yoko, although she had a premonition of what Yuu was thinking, decided not to dwell on it.

"So what have you been up to, Yuu-kun? How is your day going?"

Yuu thought for a short moment before answering and sighed lightly.

"Honestly, boring."

If he had to summarize his day, he would say sitting and thinking, messing around on his phone, planning, and flirting with Marika. In Yuu's opinion, although she was a very shameless nurse, she used the sexiness of her youth well, and Marika's teasing interested him.

His shoulders slumped with his thoughts. He looked at Yoko and asked. His tone was low but curious.

"You have two paths, but you don't want either. What should you do?"

Yoko raised her eyebrows at the sudden question. "Like what?" she asked, but Yuu couldn't think of an example.

"I don't know? Like, you have to make a choice, but neither is what you want, and both can lead to unwanted consequences. You have to make a choice. What can be done?"

Yoko looked at Yuu. Then she thoughtfully placed her hand on her chin.

"There can always be a different way," she said softly. Then she thought for a bit. She studied Yuu's expectant, curious face. Although he tried to hide it, Yoko could see his indecision and anxiety. Still, without pressing too much, she added:

"If my choice was mandatory, I think I would choose the one that would cause the least negative consequences for me. But I don't believe that there is only one mandatory path in life."

Velora on his shoulder pouted. "The woman who says this can become obedient with a single threat."

Yuu sighed lightly. Did he really have to make a decision between two paths? Did he have to choose between leaving her to her fate or directly claiming her for himself?

"Desires, Subject-kun. Always trust your own desires. Even if your logic rejects it," Velora had said. So what was his desire? His own desire...

Thus, he made his decision.
